They probably wont have as many quit seeing how Brown is a quality coach and knows how to talk to kids instead of putting them down. And no im like Valvano I wont ever give up
I think this would give me a little initiative to get better. Do things right and give a little effort I'm sure things wouldn't be said...
And I know for a fact Workman wasn't as hard on any kid out there as was on Darius...
-
It doesnt really matter. Workman is gone. End of story......................
Glad you decided to give up

What about James Rodriguez he was an assistant last year and played a few years @ UK after a great career at Bourbon County. I would have thought he would be the next head coach if he wanted to be.
He wasn't liked by the parents either...

The girls varsity basketball coach had to quit because he wasnt ceritfied. The baseball coach isnt any different
Since we're being technical...
Barring a rules change. To qualify as a baseball coach all that is required is a 2 year degree which Workman had.
Next...

You can defend him all you want but facts are facts. Brown is certified and Workman isnt and thats why Deming dumped Workman. When you have to dip down into middle school there is a problem.
Throwing out certification...since that was what this is all about????
I'd say there was a problem...lack of commitment

The park needed improvements thats for sure. It will look good when they are done with it. I would venture to say that if Workman had remained coach this year there probably wouldnt have been enough kids playing to field a team. jmo
Then they would have went down to the middle school team like every year in the past...

Workman was only there for his kid. Darius is a senior and his dad would have left after that anyway. Im glad the administration at Demimg went ahead and made this move.
First he wasn't there only for his kid but the kids that stuck it out through thick and thin. He was there for the ones who didn't quit on him...
And agreeing with SYGU Workman donated his time and money not only running the summer camps but I believe he was the reason this program has stayed afloat this long. Not to mention him pushing for the improvements at the park...
And lastly why couldn't they have waited one more year before making this move??? When Deming made this decision they made a decision that will ultimately come back to bite them...
Good luck to John Brown this upcoming year and hopefully you have some support from the parents.

Last thing I heard was that parents of players who quit last years team approached the board wanting a new coach. Assistant basketball coach John Brown showed interest and there was a move last week to switch coaches. So I believe both stories are correct...

I've been in the P & R forum and I just don't have enough nerve to post in there because I know I'd be eaten alive.

Dunn with the HOMERUN!
5-5 in the 8th

GenDisc is generally where I go first. Others are dependent upon what season it is.
Same goes for me:thumb:

Wow I never heard one thing about this. Sort of a shock to me...

They would be an automatic 95% of the time in any district in the 10th Region. I guess Coach Whitaker is responsible for the district the Breds are in?
Who else is to blame?
Congrats to the Breds and good luck in the Region Tournament.

There are a few youngster around here(Robertson County) that can play a little golf.
The best one I've seen is Josh Goddard(signed to play at Union next year) If I'm not mistaken he's been to state a couple of times.

Big Brown is a special horse I believe he'll win it.

Here in Robertson County we have the Blue Licks State Park. Site of the last battle of the Revolutionary War in Kentucky. Ironically the war had ended already but news didn't reach here by the time it took place.
It is also the only place in the world that is home to Short's Goldenrods

Does anyone know who will play each other? I know Harrison is #1 seed but everybody else split in the season.

8 homers... Jared Pruitt (Sophmore) was left off the list.
Everyone knows Deming has a short porch. I was told that most of the homeruns were against an eight grader who is a first year player. According to the Maysville paper it was 11 to 5 going into 5th inning. Deming's Workman had a homrun as well.

Wonderful story and it brings a tear, to the eye.
I agree. A very touching story that truly has an affect.

Congrats to Mr. Setty!

Is Deming still playing without many of their starters or did they return to the team?
What I hear is 6 have quit and 2 did not show up.
Kudos to the kids who have stuck in there to finish the season up.

So what does this do to UT next year?

My 7-year-old son has committed to the University of Kentucky today. He said he chose UK over Duke because "only sissies go to Duke". He led his pee wee basketball team in scoring, rebounding, assists, and Little Debbie snack cakes ate after each game. He was also first in the hand shake line more than any other player on his team. He hasn't qualified academically but he did make a 100 on his spelling test Wednesday and made a 95 on his units test. "I like Kentucky because the big furry cat on TV that goes to the game looks cool. Plus, my grandpa says Kentucky is where the real good players go," my son said. Incredibly, no word has been received from the UK coaches concerning their latest verbal.
Scribe this may be the greatest post I have read while a member of BGP. I was literally crying as I read it. The bolded was my favorite although it was great as a whole.
