  1. Just wondering, how many games did you see him play his Sr. year? By your avatar you are a 10th region supportor. As being over hyped, were't you the oe that also saidthat UK was interestered?

Snappy could be getting the UK info from the PAST. He went to the UK for a visit and scrimmage and he never got a scholarship offer but a walkon was discussed With BG. I guess that would qualify as interest

  2. He definately could have played D1 right out of high school and anyone with any knowledge of what was going on then knows that. And had a chance to go try out for a D1 this second round but he would have had to sit out a year and he definately didn't want to do that so he declined. D1 doesn't have to be SEC, Big 10, ACC, etc etc because there are lots of mid or low major D1's out there that Ferg could have played for and a few of them tried to get him in 09', BUT he blew it and knows it. He now has to settle for D2 and you guys(many of whom didn't even have a chance to play anywhere at next level) are acting like...Oh! My gosh, he only gets to play at the D2 level. He spent the night last night so I let him read what you guy's were saying, and told him who I thought some of you were. He is a better man than all of us because he just laughed and said...let em think what they want, you don't have to defend me to people like that. Then added, but if you do tell them I am just happy to get a second chance and I picked a team that has been to NCAA tourney 9 years in a row, and weak conference or not, losing first round or not..it would have to be a blast. By the way he picked up two more D2 offers today.

    GO FERG!

  3. If you think that the thread before this one is the only thread I'm talking about you're mistaken. What good has it dine that there has been a spitting contest of the parents of Jenkins and Ferguson? What good has it done that Dale is bitter over last years Elliott team and even Timmy Knipp's success? What good has it done that it was made plain that it seemed "unfair" that Ethan Faulkner got to be the face of that Elliott team?

The answer is it did no good at all. Just happy that the young man got a chance to play the game he loves and gets his education paid for. All the garbage leading up to now has lessened the accomplishment plain and simple.

I hope it can all be gone and we can discuss his on the court successes from now going forward without all the junk! Or maybe that's too much to ask.

What in the world are you talking about? What has Jenkins got to do with this thread. And why would you be bringing up another thread to mix with this one? My quote that you responded to was about... it is an assumption that his father had any input on the two threads about Ferg on this forum other than supplying me with information. There was no hype to it at all. He had several offer's, he chose one and that is that!

  4. Congratulations to Jonathan. I hope he has a terrific career. Most importantly, I hope he gets a quality education and this is a springboard for him to a wonderful career and life after basketball.

This whole scenario would be a great case study in parents who lost their marbles on a message board and caused more grief for their child than aid. The Jordanian type hype machine did nothing more than make it impossible for the young man to measure up to the line that had been elevated by his father and surrounding cronies.

Once again, good luck young man. Thanks for the 16th region memories. Here's hoping you make many more!

You are assuming a lie! The only input his father has had on this and the other Ferg thread was giving me the info of when he gained offers and where which I did not disclose at his request.

  5. I still don't understand why it's such a big deal to give us the names of schools recruiting him two years ago, who have since rescinded their offers. How is that going to make any difference in the current process. And since you know Dale so well, please tell him that Jim Schue and Westsider don't understand the need for all the cloak-and-dagger stuff. At the end of the day, it's just basketball. Nobody's life is at stake should these state secrets leak out.

One thing for sure, I know Dale very well. He is one of my siblings. I told him what you said and he said he wasn't 100% sure about you but Westsider and a few others are the reason's for the cloak and dagger stuff. Most of the time any thing good was posted about Ferg it was disputed and contradicted and people saying he cant play here, there, or anywhere and he got tired of it. He is convinced that if any offers were posted from the past or now they would be ripped apart and Jonathan would be back in the bashing spotlight, so until he signs i guess you will have to wait. He did say that Ferg scrimmaged in open gym today with a D2 team along with some pro players from over seas and the coaches were very pleased even though he was out of shape.

  6. Maybe some of us get tired of reading the hype of northern ky and louisville teams that dont back it up either. Where were your comments when the Holmes fans were above anything from ky but didnt get it done. You have claimed that there are no elitist on this site, but you prove that wrong over and over again. I dont see these insults when someone is talking about a Louisville player or a Northern Ky player. I guess you dont have the numbers in your favor to take a shot at them. And I disagree, there are plenty of posters that would love to see him fall on his face, some of you make it more than obvious!

I totally agree with every word.

  7. I don't see how any of what you wrote in post 178 would preclude you from telling us what offers he had more than two years ago (offers that are no longer valid). We're not asking who the current candidates are; just the ones who offered in 2008/09 that are no longer in the mix. Why does that have to be state secrets?

Well in post 178 I explained to Westsider that Fergs dad is my very close friend and he dont want any names of schools given out yet. Westsider then ask me the names of the school and so I said read post 178.. which tells that I cant say! Which i am sure he had already read post 178 and asked again anyway. I would say that there are lot's of things done or said on a message board that different people at different times don't like but I guess that is just part of it. I explained why I couldn't say and hopefully everyone can respect that. If the shoe were on the other foot I would be tickled to read and find out that he is getting a second chance and would just wait for the information to be posted. Last but not least it is not state secret but it is Dale's and I will respect it.

  8. Much talk...no action.

Lot's of people like to talk and brag about what is going on and then if nothing happen's they look like fool's. There are some who wait until they have the prize in hand, and then they do their talkin. That is exactly how Jonathan's dad is. When he signs at one of the four school's that is dealing with him right now, then the info will be posted.

  9. What schools? And what were the offers?

I don't know if you know Dale or not Westsider, but if you do you know that he is a hardcore old fashioned person. If your his friend and he trusts you with information, as he has myself and evidently Wireman(who also won't discuss names either) you don't break his trust because he would never ever fool with you again.

He doesn't want to have to read about ...He can't play there ...no way he is good enough for that school blah, blah, blah! If you would like his cell # pm me and I will give it to you and you can call him. You will then find that everything i have posted is the truth!

  10. Pardon our skepticism, but we kept hearing how many "options" he was supposed to have as a senior ... and how many of those actually materialized?

I will pardon your skepticism. As I stated before I know for a FACT, he could have played at 4 D1 schools right out of high school(one was walkon others were scholar) + two D2's and handful of NAIA. His Dad and I are very close friends. As of today, right now ..... he is being looked at, discussed, settin up visit's, etc etc, at one D1, two D2's, and an NAIA school that are very interested. Some have offered already and others need to see if the motor still run's!LOL:lol:

  11. It must not hurt to bad to take off a year because most of the Coaches who hav watched Ferg play in the last few weeks have made the statement that they thought he was stronger, quicker and better than in high school. Also his quickness never was average. He blew the door's of more than one D1 talent at UK several time's. He also ran 40 in 4.5 It also didn't affect him very bad because NKU offered him 4years if someone transfered over the summer and three if they didn't and he didn't accept. And right now he has two or three schools that are going to give him a chance if he want's to play for them. Course those Coache's probably don't know as much about it as you do. The Lexington Hearld and others also reported that Ferg was one of very few players(like three i think) of his caliber to not go on and play at the next level in history of Ky high school basketball, so the sweetheart syndrome and meltdown is not as common as you are letting on. Moral of the story....the year off is not a big factor because Ferg will be playing :D

  12. Every player who plays basketball has a emotionally draining time. That is a cop out if I've ever heard one. There may be some underlying issues at hand that the family does not want to disclose but to say it was because he was drained is just an excuse because every player is drained at the end of a season, but yet they continue and move on.

Did you not read the post above your's? It plainly disclose's why he didn't play. It for sure wasn't because he needed a break.

  13. I don't claim to know anyone or have an inside track to the NKU program. But, I do find it very, very unlikely that Ferguson would get an offer, decline it, take a year off from basketball entirely, and then STILL have an offer on the table.[/QUOTE]

It is not unlikely, because Ferg had an offer from NKU decided not to play anywhere and once again a few month's later got an offer from NKU first year on his own, and next three on Bezold. That is 100% fact.

  14. Kreb's is not the only one who has problem's. There is no use to belittle Ferg. He was sometimes a foward, sometimes a three, sometimes a shooting guard and a few times I even saw him run the point. Ferg had the chance to play at 5 different D1 schools, several D2's and a ton of others in NAIA. The tru story is..He didn't take a break, he quit for love. He became engaged his senior year to a girl that was wearin the britches so to speak, they were to be married the following May after graduation. She convinced Ferg that if he played College ball they would be through. For what he thought was true love he gave up his chances. Week or so into 2nd semester at MSU(yes He could have played there in the beginning) she drop him like a bad habit. He now is looking for a second chance and no one wants to give him his first year, not in fear of his talent but in fear of him not finishing. Can't really say that I blame them under the circumstance's. At this point he still has two NAIA school's and one NCAA school that is willing to give him a try. This info came from his father less than 4 hrs ago. You can bank on that it is true

  15. Tyndall asked Ferg to play at MSU twice last year. Ferg was still in mind warp stage(with the girlfriend) and turned him down. When he came to his senses and decided to play he went to Tyndall and he turned Ferg down. Ferg even offered to walk on(so he could play 25min from home) and Tyndall wouldnt let him. I also heard that there are some schools that are willing to give Ferg four years insted of three(NKU). Guess we will have to wait for Wireman to tell us who it is.

  16. In this economy and state budget environment, it would be a very hard sell for NKU to commit to moving up to D-1. The dollars just are not there. Making the jump would result in nearly a 100% increase in NKU's annual athletic expenditures. Governor Beshear and Senate President Williams cannot agree on whether it is daylight or dark, but do agree that the state cannot rack up additional debt, even for education, in these uncertain economic times. So if Ferguson decides to lace up his shoes again, I am going to enjoy watching him play...even if it is against Kentucky Wesleyan or Findlay.

Yeah! Or he could be playing for Ky Wes or Findlay. NKU is not sure thing as of right now.

  17. Gotcha! Thanks for your updates! Here is my guess, Jonathon has got a better deal at a division 1 school which I think he should have gotten anyway!

Jonathan had the option a year ago at several D1 schools and turned them all down. Now he is starting over and its hard to get that second chance from a D1 school although I have heard that there is a couple looking at him.

  18. This is old news Jonathan is signed, sealed and delivered to NKU! I'm excited about Dale coming out of retirement more than Jonathan, ole Dale will spice up the BOK next winter.

Jonathan is not signed, sealed and delivered. NKU didnt want him bad enought to offer him 4 years. They only offered him 3. I am guessing that transfer Johnny West got his 1st year. He however has several other options that he is looking at.

  19. The officiating had nothing to do with the outcome of this game guys! I will admit there were a couple of quesitonable calls, but as someone already pointed out, Elliott shot 14-45 from the field including 2 of 15 from 3 point land. There was some inconsistency at times between the officials, by that I mean one called it a little tighter than the other two, but he called the same on both ends, as did the other two.

A 5 point 4th quarter will usually get you beat!

FYI -- Lakin Griffith tied a tournament record with 52 rebounds in the tourney.

Do you have Rowans stats also, or just Elliott's?
