I believe if you check you will see this is the first time SK has had an undeafted championship team. I believe the only other was a freshman team that only played a six game season. Check and see I may be wrong but this is what we were told by the staff at SK. I only put Highland to get you going. Never seen so much crying about and s. We know who we played and we know who we beat. This was the first SK team to beat a Highlands team since 1979. You can try to bring us down but you cant. We believe and that is all it takes. Cant never accomplished anything. Our kids have the heart to go all the way and they will. We dont need to offer free school to get good players only show the ones we have how much we care and what we will do for them. Highlands fans can naysayers all they want. They just have to face the facts we beat them hands down in two games and never showed any bad sportsmanship. they should start with teaching their kids the sport of sportsmanship first. Dont hate the players hate the game.

Wow!!!!!!! Great post and insight about how a program is supposed to be run. I heard that Dale & Co are sending a spy over to Independence to see if they can uncover any secrets that Simon Kenton might be holding back from the rest of us.:lol:

I know it's still in the heart of the 2007 season but i would like to know what are some of the programs in NKy that are in the right direction.

Doubt it! Seems to me the coaching staff is turning their head on some major discipline issues. I lost count on the unsportsmanlike penalties against the Frosh squad... but when one player gets two in the second half and the coaching staff inserts him back into the game... is beyond my reasoning. I thought that was immediate ejection from the game.

 

There is some talent on this team and this talent will see some action on next years varsity squad. However, the several bad eggs in this bird basket masks the effort that many on the team are putting forth to continue the bluebird tradition.

Regardless of a win or not, this is not how you play Highlands Football. This crap will not be tolerated next year on the varsity level. I overheard a Spring Sport coach comment last night, don't bother coming out in the Spring if you plan on acting like that. Not going to put up with it.:irked:

Wasn't this kind of the same thing going on a couple of years ago when he was at Beechwood. Instead of everybody so called close to the situation running to his rescue. Why don't the people who really care get the guy some much needed help. What do i know, absolutely nothing, but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to know there is something scary wrong with this guy.

According to the records I have, it was 14-7. Not saying they're infallible though.

Those CCH boosters really know how to do it right. not many places in NKY where you can get a grilled burger, mett or brat with all the fixins including sauteed peppers onions and mushrooms. Beats the boiled dogs or cold pizza served in Ft Thomas. The Birds have the better team this year but the Colonels are head and shoulders above when it comes to concessions.

I will take the better Program over better concessions any day of the week.

They need to get up and film the game live just like everybody else!!!!

Kentucky will score 30 points. I think the offense is that potent with Woodson at the wheel. Now can Ky contain the Razorbacks enough to win. I don't know!!!!!

That is right, I said better coaching. If you put Highlands coaching staff at Ryle last year they wouldn't of went to State. My Grandma could win with the talent they have year in and year out at Highlands.

Good points by everyone!!!! If this would of been a real game with a 4th quarter then Highlands would of been the victor by an easy margin!!!! Highlands started simply wearing the Beechies down period. Early in the week someone questioned why people were allready crowning Beechwood Class A Champs. Guess what boys, there's a freight train running loose in Class A. I hope everyone is ready and i know some people will be saying that it is not fair letting Beechwood stay in the smaller class. It be like Highlands staying in 3A!!!!!

If I was a HHS fan, I would just right click on it, save it, and then upload it as mine.

I'm not sure but I think Dixie doesn't do double sessions.

Man that's odd!!! Especially Tom coaching under Duffy at one time. Heck, they had triples when Duffy was at Highlands. I guess Tom didn't buy into Duffy's program. How does Dixie do thier scrimmages. Is it the typical 10 and 10 format

Dixie works out 7:00 to 11:00 . To beat the HEAT !

What time do they start in the evening. I can't take off work and thought about catching one of thier practices.

That's ok, we get plenty between Dixie, CCh, and Beechwood from the spartans. We also get some from The NKYFL Raiders, and South Kenton Lions, not to mention the Turkeyfoot Indians and Summit View Wildcats. I think we'll be just fine if one gets away. It'll be interesting to see if it plays out the way you say.

Yeah that's true, but for some god for saken reason when you add the one stud player to an allready very good football program it spells trouble in Kenton county.

Who were the Catcher, SS, and DH???

Not sure the SS but the Catcher was Sammy Liggett, and the DH was Teddy Abner. Also not sure but someone said that Teddy had 14 at bats in two days and reached base something like 11 times. That is what you call getting it done!!!! Go Birds

Was told that player and parent agreed to it. I would think that the coaches know better than that wouldn't you. They continued to ask and he was good to go. They kept track of his pitches and they felt as coaches it was the right thing to do. I guess if you look back, if they would have pulled him, the outcome would have been different. Also if he would have done better that one inning then the coaches would have been right. And the so called parent would be happy. Easy to point fingers isn't it.

Maybe his hall of fame grandfather even areed it was okay to pitch him!!!

I know they have alot of young arms in Union .The fresman level is even very good . The only question is how many of those arms stay at Ryle and how many go to the new high school when it opens ??

I know you said "might" not be the case, but you again raised the issue that others have raised about TM not playing together well as a team. Is this "conclusion" based strictly on the fact that TM didn't win it all last year with so much talent (if so, I think that's a bit presumptious on folks part) or are some folks familiar with TM?

 

As for me, I think TM will be a great challenge for the Birds. Of course I believe the Birds will respond to the challenge and win (then again, we could be playing the Colts and I'd feel the same way). But with the talent that TM has and it being the second year running the offensive system, TM is going to be a very, very tough opponent. And while I've not seen TM play, I'm not buying into this "they don't play well as a team" stuff.

You would be surprised where all of this Playing as a TEAM stuff came from. I for one agree that Trotwood is going to be another great challenge for the Birds.

We are looking foward to the game as well. This is another example of a Titantic opponent that Highlands has scheduled and will definately have to bring thier A game. But that's how Dale usually likes it.

I think that Oliver gave up on baseball this year.

I predict 3 wins over the colonels this year. Two Red and one Blue. The boyz from CCH won't get that second chance. Maybe this thread should be bold predictions about CCH.
