I guess Dixie shouldn't even show up. This is a very intimidating CovCath team, based on the fact that Dixie waxed them the first time they played, and the very impressive 4-6 record.
I know both teams are much improved, but I think CCH has too much ground to make up to win this one.
If Dixie played the schedule like CCH they would finish 4-6 MAYBE. So record means absolutely nothing. Also you cannot base what happened the first game to be the end result of this one. CCH didnt have 2 of the 5 returning starters from last years State Championship team playing, including the MVP. Also, what ground does CCH have to make up???? That doesnt even make sense!?!?!
-
CovCath proved they could lose to excellent teams like Elder and LaSalle by 4TDs. If you want to say that gives an advantage to CovCath have at it, but I just don't see it.
Regardless of scheduling, I believe both teams have improved since their earlier meeting and I expect a very competitive game.
If you want to be the best, you have to play the best. CCH has played the best of the best. The #1 team in the state and #7 in the country by Max Preps, and it was 14-3 CCH at half, they fell apart in the second half though. They played Elder and didnt play very good, but held there own, if you saw the game. I would much rather be beaten by a great team than to blow out a joke team. Your record doesnt mean anything in the playoffs.

Yeah, Dixie played much worse competition,
I don't care how you slice it, offensively Dixie is far ahead.
Special teams units other than kick off Dixie is far ahead and Jett has been known to kick into the end zone once in a while.
Defensively.... well you may have a glass that could hold water, but then again CCH isn't exactly a jugernaut.
Haha get a load of this guy. I guess you could say teams such as Simon Kenton, Conner, Boone County, Ryle, and Campbell County are equal to LaSalle, New Cath, Elder, St. Charles, and St X.

:sleep:Take a look at the teams Dixie has played compared to Cov Cath. Cov Cath has played against faster, stronger, and overall better teams then Dixie. You have to look deeper into just stats. Cov Cath strength of schedule will come into play in this game.Ill take Cov Cath 35-21

CCH had the toughest schedule in my opinion. I think that was Rodenbergs schedule and CCH never changed it. But I like to see these NKY teams go up and play teams like Elder, Moeler, St. X. If you want to be the best, you have to play the best. And it gets you ready for the only thing that counts.........the playoffs.

Be an interesting year next year for BC with Farris and Duece and Bogle gone. Kind of a good test to see if they can sustain the level of play from the last few years.
Yea your right, it will be interesting to watch them next year with all that talent gone. I think they will bounce back though.

Haha rap dances are hilarious.
-
I like where Boone Co. is going, year in and year out they are competitive, but dont get much credit.
-
Huge for the Dodgers organization.
-
Favre is the man. I dont see why he isnt considered the best QB of all-time. 3 straight MVP's and numerous records. He is a blast to watch, it's like a backyard game for him. I can see him playing 2 or 3 more seasons, and why not if he is playing like this.
-
I would love to see CCH go to Louisville and beat them on their senior night, last game of the year. And give them their only loss. I see them coming out and playing a hard fought battle. CCH's D will have to play the game of the year (even better than the Beechwood game) for them to win. The O needs no turn-overs and no 3 and outs. They need to control the clock and get their running game going early with Buckley and Furnish. Isler needs a great game, along with the recievers.
GO CCH!!!
-
On a side not did anyone see the hit from Pat VanSant? Knocked the kid out cold.
-
Great game by CCH. The running game was very very effective. I think they beat a good team tonight . They beat them without even throwing the ball except a few long passes to 84 Schnieder. I think they were tryin to go to Cason too. I also saw that all 4 of there senior wide recievers dressed tonight, first time since the HHS game I think. Who were the 2 starting WR's tonight, and will they be rotating or what's up?????
-
I can't believe I wrote screen. I certainly meant slant. Here's my point one last time. Holmes had pretty much laid down with the running play up the middle on 4th and long. There is a gentleman's agreement that when I lay down, you lay down. The coaches for Holmes did not think for a second that CovCath would run a slant there. I'm sure that is what they are most upset about. What good is it completing that pass if you're running it against a defense that is not setup to defend it. No different than running it in practice. Any team could work on things when the game is in hand with 1:43 to go. There are unwritten rules and that pass broke one of the biggest ones. I've coached at this level. It's just not done.
1. Why wouldnt Holmes just punt the ball 4th and 15 on their own 12. I bet if they would have punted CCH would have ran the clock out. If they ran a usless play, why not punt??? So, they were def. trying to move the football.
2. You have no idea if Holmes was ready for that or not, and if they were not it's bad coaching on their part. But you cannot say that they were not ready.
3. They were only up by 17 it's not like they killed them or anything, I just dont know what the big deal is. It boosted the confidence of Schulte for the great throw, Cason on the catch, the O-line for good protection, and everyone else because of the score.
-
I like Lex Cath's and HHS. The one that is suprisingly also up their is the old time look of Johnson Central.
-
Regardless of the situation, congrats to Justin Schulte. He's in the books now.
I think his first TD pass came in the Scott game. Schulte looked pretty good in the game, besides a few botched snaps. I think that TD pass to Cason at the end of the game was NOT to run up the score. Coach B isnt that kind of coach. He wanted Schulte to gain some confidence going into next week, if he has to end up starting next week he needs a confident QB.
Isler didnt even practice all week, so I would say that they had their dicision made up before Friday if he was going to play QB or not. The reason for the punting was to see if we would be able to, or not, obviously he wasnt ready. Great game by CCH's D, they came ready to play.
Congrads to CCH for making the playoffs, great win!!
-
Did Buckley play?
I think he took a few snaps, but not much.
-
What about NKY recievers???
-
Beechwood got robbed. Those refs need to be fired. Beechwood's Cody Elliott was four feet in the endzone. The back ref called it a touchdown but the side judges ignored him. Then the refs didn't get the ball set until 15 seconds had ran off the clock. This game was not won by Cov Cath. It should have been a tie and gone to OT. Worst reffing I have ever seen. Beechwood, you did not lose this one, don't let it get you down!!!!!!
Looks like a bunch of excuses to me. This game was won by CCH at least thats what it says in the record books. Their was a huge fumble that CCH obviously fell on and the refs didnt call it a fumble. That would have been a huge swing toward CCh's side down deep in Beechwoods territory.
-
I have heard that there are a lot of banged up players for CCH. Who are the names of the players and who will be taking their spots???
Also have Beechwood had any significant injuries this year?
-
I like CCH in this one. I think their performance agains HHS gave them a lot of confidence. Plus it is senior night under the lights and they will be fired up to play this game.
-
I think CCH's team speed will kill NCC. CCH's tough D will not allow more than 14 points. And i think this is the game where CCH's O will come out and show itself. How has the JV game been between these 2 teams. I think CCH won last year and the year before that, but I'm not sure.
-
Isler looked the best good out there in the 3rd and 4th quarter, making some key throws. Shulte also looked ok going in the in the 2nd and 3rd quarter.
-
I think if Colt Brennan has the same year as last season, he will have a great shot, easily.
Who's being recruited in NKY?
in KY Football (High School)
Posted
Who is being recruited from CCH or HHS this year. I havn't really heard too much.
