Does anyone have info about the replacement for Coach Brown
Im going to guess it will be Jeremy Vaught, whom Coach French brought from Lincoln County.

Mason played O-line in college, and he is predominantly an offensive coach. He coaches outside LBs because every coach at Boyle has an Offensive and Defensive position

1917! Wow, I did not realize that it was that old. That's got to be one of the oldest associations in existance. I wonder if it is true compared to other states?
Plenty of organizations are over 100 years old. 1917 is new compared to some associations.

Sean is a moron, with no insight into the game. The only thing worse than listening to him, is listening to him, Emmitt Smith, and two random fat guys on the same stage.
-
Is Russell not considered a mountain school because I think they deserve to be up their over Corbin.
-
Hester has been at Garrard once. It is hard to imagine he would consider a return. Maybe it was Mason that visited today.
I dont think it would be Mason, he has a son that is a junior or senior. I would think the Boyle assistant would be John Hodge who is from Garrard.

I agree that Southern and Lincoln's slothfullness in their coaching hire has gotten some applicants worried. I wouldnt be surprised to see Garrard get all applications from these coaches. Honestly they must be thinking that if Southern or Lincoln liked them as possible coaches then they wouldnt be dragging their feet soo much.

People sure are being tight-lipped for a HS job....

Centre has a team??? Just kidding

True HitStick! I don't really get impressed with small college coaches at D-2 schools and NAIA. Cronin is a great coach and Thomas at Campbellsville might be ok also. It just makes me think that if they were that good, then they would move up in the college ranks where they might actually make some money. Assistants at NAIA/D-2 like KY Weslyan barely make enough to survive on.
I never said anything about the quality of coaching. I know that Coach Thomas is a great coach. Alot of the coachs of the schools listed are great coaches, Cronin, Frye, and even Thomas More's coach (name?) are all great coaches. Sometimes the assistants are just ex-players, and that doesnt always mean that those are the best quality, but i know that just being a head coach at any college level makes them qualified for high school jobs.

It wont be Campbellsville because Perry Thomas just got there. KY Wesleyan, KCU, Kstate, Cumberlands, Centre, Thomas Moore, Georgetown, the list goes on and on....
Maybe it was offered to Northern Kentucky's head coach..... or perhaps Transy's....lol

Sounds like a lot of "might be" situations. Why would Perry & Hester want to return? They both are in situations that have state titles. What is the deal with the Goldsmith transfer?
I asked myself the same question about Hester and Perry. I dont think Hester or Perry would leave. Im pretty sure Hester doesnt want to move from Boyle... i think his son is an upcoming freshman, and i think his wife is a teacher at Boyle.

Stonebreaker's only accomplishment has been getting teams into the playoffs, which is something that 75% of the teams in KY do now-a-days. I think Garrard Countians would like to see a Coach with a proven record for taking programs to the next level.

I'm right on with you studwr, it seems that people are quick to judge when coaches/teams are struggling. It is apparent that kids during the Stonebraker/Cooper era made many progressions. I don't think they got the support they needed from the community and was quick to want a change. I know Stonebraker & Co. had to deal with alot of grade and behavior issues that were out of their hands. With small schools, we all know that is a tough pill to swallow. I wouldn't judge a coach on that. Now if this staff reloaded tons of talent each year and still produced 2-9 seasons, I would agree with GCHS UK9 that there needs to be a change but I highly doubt that was the case. I think alot of people in Garrard need to realize that and provide a helping hand instead of a noose. Thanks studwr for seeing my point.
See grade and behavior issues are within their hands. You can get students tutoring and behavior problems can be corrected with some discipline. I am not very high on Stonebreaker or Cooper's credentials, and we all agree that the school needs change. With the schedules Stonebreaker puts together (especially at Casey) it would be impossible to go 2-9 if you put a team on the field. With Their new district and class they should be able to be a top contender in their district and region, and yet they have losses to Washington Co., and Pendleton Co. (a team that had to go to overtime to beat Bourbon). Plus they arent even competetive against Somerset, which they have to go through.

I heard that Jerry Perry was being seriously considered for the job. He previously coached at Garrard back in the 90's. He is more than capable to do the job and was well liked.
The question is not if Garrard wants him, but if he wants Garrard. If Coach Perry wants to go back to Garrard then i dont think the Administrators would blink at the chance.

West Jessamine needs something good to happen for them. The kids played hard last year for Jodie Hamilton after their coach left in the middle of the season. I hope this is the boost that West needs because their is alot of talent walking those halls.

In high school there is no buffer zone. You can make contact with a player until the ball is released by the QB.
What he said. As long as they dont grab or trip (intentionally) the receiver... line backers are taught to eliminate crossing receivers.
-
What school is Stonebreaker going to? I wouldnt think he would OC for a school that passes or runs the Tony Franklin system.
-
What class is Palm Bay in? I know that alot of out of state coaches can get jobs, but sometimes its about impressions made, not whats on the resume. Face to Face interviews usually leave more of a lasting impression, and its easier to come across enthusiatic and portray your vision in person. There are still jobs open, and Garrard Co. just became open. Keep looking and good luck

I think Bobby Knight has as good of a shot being named the head coach as some of those mentioned on this post.
Wh..wh...what?
-
From what i believe they rarely have non-preferred walk-ons. Most schools dont hold open tryouts anymore. Atleast thats how its done at Eastern.
-
Id say Ivan McGlone at Russell wouldnt leave ever, even when he was a younger man
-
Then i feel very sorry for the kids up at Owen Co. BTW where did Bishop come from?
-
A successful program needs to be more than kids just showing up to practice and scoring "alittle". If Coach U could only do those two things, then Owen Co. was better off looking for another coach that could take Owen to the next level. Just showing up wont do it.
