Last years game was played at a spirited , hard hitting level ..... With the Devils staff involved this year , the West will be ready , former opponent Fleming is always up for the Devils , while Mason surely remembers classic Grutza/Lofton games with the Devils ... Should be a good one .. Good luck to all involved , nice for kids ....

I really doubt anyone cares about the coaching staff? This game is for the kids. Who gives a rats tail about the coaching staffs? :jump: :devil:

As we near the end of the basketball season we also come to the end of McDavid's career at Ashland. I believe it is safe to say that it was one of the finest careers in the long and storied history of Ashland basketball. It is unfortunate that he did not have an opportunity to play in a state tournament but that, in no way, detracts from his accomplishments.

 

I am a Rose Hill advocate and, as such, I am often seen as one who has few good comments about Ashland. While I would dispute that perception, I know how the game of politics is played in this area and I enjoy playing it.

 

McDavid is far from the best player to ever play in this area. However, he may well be the most consistent. He continually put up double figures in scoring and in rebounding. He always gave everything he had in effort and was a pleasure to watch.

 

I don't know him but I will miss seeing him compete. I tip my hat, although it is blue and white with a big "R" on it, to Drew McDavid and wish him every success at Georgetown and, if I can end on a partisan note, I am sure glad that the Royals will not have to face him next year.:thumb:

I think its because his won-loss record was 2-1 instead of 3-0.

Yes but if you will remember last year Ferguson from Elliot won it and his record was the same.

I've never been a fan of a losing team having the MOP. I think a member of the championship team should carry the title.

Well for the past 4 years the loser in the championship game has had the mvp on their team. I'm just biased i suppose. With that being said congratulations to Elliot County. You all have a great team and I hope you do well at Rupp and represent the 16th well!

Drew McDavid was robbed of the MVP. He definitley should have got it! 26 and 20 in one game and 19 and 16 in another. How could he not have gotton it?

If everyone will remember last year Ashland beat Elliot Co at Blazer by around 8-10. Then Elliot beat them in the regionals by 2. It's basically the same team's as last year as well. Could the opposite take place this year? :sssh:

In order for Ashland to win this game their role players will have to step up and handle the preasure. If they do this I see Ashland winning this game. Get the ball to McDavid and Bonner down low and let Thomas do his thing out front and Ashland has a shot. Here's hoping! Should be an entertaining game to watch! :ylsuper:
