  1. Don't think Perry is (5-3) in the region, they have only played 3 total games in their own region and are (3-0), their losses are to Scott County, Bishop Brossart, and Simon Kenton. Anyways, will be a great match up to watch. Hazard will play 8-10 players and press all over the floor, Perry will have Beverly penatrating and dishing to the big guys down low. Hudson for Hazard can handle one of the bigs, but with 2 6'6" big guys it may be tough for him to defend. If Perry can handle the pressure and get the ball inside, I believe they can come out on top in this one at home. They definitely have to shoot the ball from the 3 a lot better and from the free throw line. Should definitely be a dandy at John C. Combs arena on Friday night. Perry 51 - Hazard 47

  2. If they do it "CORRECTLY" it's not a walk, BUT, it's hard for some to get it right, "THEN IT IS A WALK" They have do be picking up the dribble on the first step then make the step through to make it legal. If they, like most, pick up the dribble first, then make their move and then step through it's a walk then, which is what happens most of the time these younger kids are trying to get away with it. So for some, it's a walk everytime and for some that do it right it's legal. And if you aren't watching their feet when they are picking up the ball, you may not think it is, but there is a little more to it. So yes officials know it's not a walk if it's done right, but a lot of the kids are not doing it correctly.

  3. Hazard is legit #1

Perry, Knott, Letcher will have to play it out for the next 3 spots

-Knott has Davis to get back healthy from knee surgery which is always hard to come back from, good luck to him and to new Coach King

-Letcher has a lot returning and Hammonds is a good coach that started to bring them together at the end of last year, look for them to really make some noise in the 14th this year

-Perry definitely has the size with the Cornett brothers and Sizemore, but do they have a guard to bring it up the floor and get it to them inside? that is the question Coach Hatcher will have to answer. What if teams press or run on them, can they keep up? don't know if they have the guards to overcome some up tempo teams.

Wolfe and Buckhorn are a little distance away from these 4, but could knock someone off on a given night. Wolfe is young still but has a lot of players that played a lot last year as freshman. Buckhorn has Day but needs some help from their sharp shooting guards they always seem to have, if they have them come through, they could be tough down the stretch.

Don't see anyone else beathing any of these teams. The 56th will be a tough battle, but whoever draws them in the tourney will be very happy with that outcome.

  4. #1 just remember these are "National Rules" not just for around here, I know for a fact that way too much "staring down" and "taunting" goes on to the point that it causes major problems, so now you get the rule for everyone, I'm sure it goes on here too some places.

#2 I believe that is for safety reasons such as being away from the other teams student sections thar are crazy at some places and for those other great Athletes that like to perform on their side of the floor when their teams go into the locker room, yes "the cheerleaders"... so teams must stay on their end.

#3 To many teams are gathering at center court and putting on a show and that is not what this game is about, if they want to do something goofy, let them do it in front of their own bench...

Dunking in warm ups: definitely illegal because of safety, many possiblities of injury for even attempting to dunk for some of theise kids, and also to protect against bending or breaking the rums, break away rims also break

  5. Have heard Coach Hatcher from Perry Central has some interest in the job and have been in talks with Valley. Would be leaving a good team at Perry to go and rebuild one at Valley, but would financially be a great decision for him. Tough decision for him. Have also heard that Justice from East Ridge was interested, but where they were from the same county, the Super would not let this move happen.

  6. Umpire has 42 outs to get in a full 7 inning game. There is no such thing as a tie to them, if it is that close they are banging them out, it's as simple as that. High school games last way to long already anyways. They used to be a 1 1/2 time limit on softball but baseball had no time limit, so they took off the softball time, which instead they should of made it stay an 1 1/2 and the baseball go to a 2 hour limit, that would of been a heck of a lot better for everyone.

as far as the second play, do over, the umps should of talked it over and one was watching the pitcher and the other was talking to the coach with mask off, they should of been able to take care of this and had a dead ball do over.

  7. Well, if it's one of those 4 it must be Parks because Combs won't get it, Sizemore don't want it and Keith's health won't hold up.

I have also heard Parks will be the new Clay coach and will have Bobby Keith as his assistant. He came over to JBS several times helping Tim do some things and looked like they worked well together. If this is who Keith wants, then that is who they will hire. :ylsuper:
