  1. Watching Jones play today, it seems apparent that he has some raw talent that has yet to be reined in. He was very smooth in his warmups and showed a good arm, but at times during the game it appeared as though he simply tried to make the routine plays a lot more difficult than they needed to be. But the kid is only a sophomore and with experience I believe those mistakes will go away. He did however make a couple of amazing plays in the field and swung a decent bat.

As for the Juggs, they appeared a little more flat than in their win over Conner. I thought Judd walked a few too many hitters and along with a few errors in the field with a key Bellevue hit or two thrown in, that seemed to be what cost him his only runs. But after Bellevue battled back to tie it at 6, Lloyd responded well with a 6 run outburst in the bottom of the 5th that seemed to deflate the opponents.

It is great to see Lloyd start the year 2-0. Coach Moore does a great job with those kids so hopefully he will be able to keep the momentum rolling for the rest of the week before the team heads down to Florida for a little bit warmer weathered baseball.

I believe they play all week before they head to FL. Game tonight, Fri, and Sat, before they leave Sun. They will have time to shake off any off season cobwebs before they head to FL. Go Juggs!

  2. How is Llyod looking this year? I know they play Henry Co. Saturday.

They are pretty experienced at all positions. Coach Moore looks to have made some infield adjustments to make them better defensively. Pat Thompson(JR) moved to 2nd from SS, Justin Judd(SR) is playing SS, and Kaleb Downey(SR) moved to 3rd base. Corey Moore(JR) is still catching. They have offensive firepower, but I think their pitching might be suspect at times, as they aren't that deep. I hope I am wrong, and they prove me wrong. But they could make some post-season noise this year!

  3. Winning pitcher for Lloyd was Trey Mulligan. 3rd baseman Kaleb Downey had 2 RBI, Mulligan 1 RBI. Jeremy Pittman got the save for the Juggernauts. Not familiar with Conner's team. Maybe someone could fill those stats in. Good to see the games starting already!:dancingpa

  4. Correct me if I am wrong but schools cannot try and move out of a district can they? People on this thread seem to think the school has the power to move itself out of a district and into another. That is just not the case. The KHSAA will have the authority to do this. Eventually, It may be St. Henry or Boone moving out but right now there is nothing to it. Hey, this just in Ryle wants to move to the 8th Region because of geography. This whole thread is just speculation and there is no substance to it at all.

Yes, but schools can definitly send recommendations in to the KHSAA. Not to say that they will do anything based on recommendations, but they can try.

  5. I have heard that St Henry will be moved into the 34th district and an announcement is forthcoming any day. I am sure that St Henry will be very pleased to be made a part of the 34th and can't wait to compete against Dixie, Lloyd, Ludlow and Villa. I would also have to think that this will swing the vote in favor of seeding instead of the blind draw in future tournaments. I have to think Dixie and Lloyd along with St Henry will vote to seed with Ludlow and Villa losing out wanting the blind draw. However it ends up it will definitely make a rather weak district a bit more competitive.

I've also heard that Boone is the one now trying to move into the 34th instead of St. Henry based on geography. Not too sure how they'd be closer than SH, but who knows. If this is the case..ouch
