Not tonight, maybe the Faulkners will bring out the best in him:D
Not again!!!!!

Manual played extremely well against a solid Doss team that was ranked in the Top 8 in Kentucky. Turley is doing a great job and and has young talents in Jenkins and frosh Aaron Cosby. Two juniors to note are Aaron Williams and Derrance Lawson. Manual could make some serious noise in a very strong 7th region.

I could care less what you think about my credibility. You won't name web sites or any publication ranking these 4 NKY guards because there is none.
I beg to differ. Austin Hill and Duran Jefferson are rated in the Top 10 in Kentucky's Class of 2007. That's a fact. Hester is in the top 20.
-
'08 just exploded in part with the help of Hopson and Mack.
-
Pettigrew, Beckham, Brooks, and Proffitt all have offers. From those four, Brooks has the most offers, then Pettigrew, then Beckham, followed by Proffitt. Brooks is getting looks from top programs.
-
Good point RickyP...I was pointing out the rules and making a gesture to be careful what you state. There are kids in the commonwealth and elsewhere that are on various levels that are being looked at by top programs. Just do not want to broadcast it in the wrong light whether it is true or not.
-
As a Freshman... No in-person, off-campus contact, telephone calls or personal correspondences from a coach can be made to you, your parents or your legal guardians
As a Sophomore... Collect or toll-free calls are only permitted at the conclusion of your sophomore year in high school. Also coaches may begin writing you.
"Either way Chad is drawing some interest from some heavy, and I mean heavy hitters.
Several SEC schools have been in contact with Euton. One being the defending NCAA champs."
Unless the 16th Region is exempt from these rules, those comments would appear troublesome.

Any list has to include the following. Most are nationally ranked and are being recruited by D1 programs or have offers such as Hopson, Mackey, and Miller.

Bud Mackey Scott County
Shelvin Mack Bryan Station
Nathan Novosell Lexington Catholic
Victor Moses Henry Clay
Jacob Jenkins DuPont Manual
Keshawn Simpson Madison Central
Jordan Lee Scott County

That was the intent of the post.
In all seriousness, I would say that Chris Gowers (Ballard) and Vanhoose (Russell) are 2 of the top 5 in the state.
-
We share the same point then.
-
Cam Hundley - Scott County
Tyler Portwood - Scott County
David Stanley - Ballard
Chris Gowers - Ballard
Jon Vanhoose - Russell
Jordan Smart - Lex Catholic
Aaron Boyd - Henry Clay
Jeff Mullaney - Desales
Matt Chambliss - Trinity

According to scouts, recruiters, rankings, and reports (in-state and out) the following are getting national attention and recogntion:
Class of 2008
Scotty Hopson 6'5"- Hopkinsville
Darius Miller 6'6"- Mason County
Bud Mackey 6'3"- Scott County
Class of 2009
Jacob Jenkins 6'4"- Louisville Manual
Josh Crawford 6'4"- Corbin
Class of 2010
Dakotah Euton 6'7"- Rose Hill
Chad Jackson 6'3"- Rose Hill
-
You might want to add that Jon VanHoose put up 28 points in that game too.
-
Can anyone confirm an inbound frosh @ McCreary Cen.
-
What are your thoughts are to incoming players for the class of 2010? Give some names and heights.
-
Yes. The ATL Celtics are highly regarded and our kids fought to an OT loss. There ARE NO weak teams at the Adidas Super 64. The comp is REAL. This year's field features teams with 2 and 3 legit D1 players on each squad.
-
They are at the Adidas Super 64. Currently, the DS Allstar 17's East is 1 - 0 and defeated a solid IEBP All Stars 82 - 63. Rodney Haddix led all scorers with 22 points. The DS Allstars 17's West is 1 - 1 with an overtime loss to the Atlanta Celtics and a win over Full Package 17 Under. In the win over Full Package 17 Under, Johanne Hamilton led scorers with 18 points.

Again, it is my understanding that almost every team were missing starters, in some case 2 or 3 starters were not present. This tourney was not a guage for the coming season in any shape or form.
-
What is Tate Cox height and position?
-
Several teams (if not all) were missing top players due to camps, out-of-town tourneys, and football. The tourney may not be the best gauge for the coming season, but an opportunity to allow players to be on the court and get some exposure.
-
Morganstown, West Virginia playing in a tourney that has fielded even the D1 Greyhounds.

I am not sure how many Hester finished with, I believe 3 or 5. Hester played about a quarter and half or so. Nothing flashy. There were some height on the court and decent athletes, so he could not score in the lane as easily as he does in the 8th.
Top performers were Beckham (Lou Ballard) and Pettigrew of (ETown). Beckham appeared to have put together the two best halves in the game and paced his squad in scoring. Pettigrew started off slow and scored throughout the game on strong moves in the post and hard drives. His lone perimeter basket was 3 pointer with about 50 seconds to go and aided his team in pulling out the win.
Eugene Wade was noted as shooting 1 for 12 from the field (and that sounds about right). He struggled the entire game and helped the 5th and 6th hang around.
Terry Walker (Fort Know) a 6'2" swingman shot surprisingly well at the start and opened the game with 7 of his 5th/6th team's 11 points.
It was a guards game and that meant Coleman (Jeffersontown) did not get his touches on offense, but did manage to block several shots. Tanner Jacobs (Trinity) had a respectable game offensively and on the boards.
Brandon Anderson (Lou Western) 5'10" PG controlled the flow for much of the game for the 5th and 6th team.
James Sykes (North Hardin) had a solid overall game and played with enthusiasm. Worked the paint hard and had several offensive rebounds early to give his team second and third chances on the offensive end to keep the game close.
-
Pettigrew was in Louisville tonight and he was a major reason his squad won. 5th and 6th defeated the 7th and 8th by a score of 101-99.

Its a business. Its politics. And its wrong. If, and I mean a big if, college recruiters ever decided to take his list seriously, it will do more harm than good to Kentucky's hopefuls. The bottomline is still no matter where a kid is ranked they still have to perform when college recruiters have their eyes on the player. Bolus puts himself in a jam when his rankings are off the mark and has to legitmise his rankings by having those on the camp allstar rosters regardless of the fact that another player has "earned" his right to be on it. I have talked to enough people to know that his rankings are an afterthought in the hoops community. Many have any questioned whether Bolus truly understands the game other than what ShooterX3 has stated a dunk which is worth 2 points. Which reminds me, someone noticed that at the camp 6 points were going up on the scoreboard following a dunk and the announcer kept yelling "touchdown."
Rebounding Stats
in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Posted
Is it me, or are these "rebounding stats" getting out of control. We got kids claiming to have 21 rebounds on teams with 2 other players on the same squad getting 11 and 13 boards to boot. That's 50 rebounds for one team and just 3 players. It's a stat no one truly follows but the stat keepers and its tough to verify, but some of it is just extremely outlandish. I guess it just provides good reads.
