OK, my take on the Mountain Regions.

 

12th - Rockcastle, Danville, SW Pulaski & Mercer Co. are historically excellent teams. I'd pick Danville as a pre-season favorite. Rock has the best battery.

 

13th - Middlesboro & Corbin at the top, both have potential, but also potential problems with youth. I've heard a lot about South Laurel, Whitley is an up-n-comer.

 

14th - Powell County has ruled this usually weak Region for years, but I look for Leslie to assume the crown, with Hazard & Lee Co. in the mix.

 

15th - Pikeville & Johnson central at the top. Sheldon Clark as an up-n-comer.

 

16th - Belongs to Boyd Co., with Ashland as a dark horse. Don't know as much about the 16th, though.

About the 14th...I don't understand how you get that Powell Co. has ruled it for years when I don't recall the last time they took home a championship

If PCC isnt 1 they should at least be 2, Returning 2 starters and 3 juniors with alot of playing time. Along with improving Amis and other underclassmen.

Good question Professor. Hicks isn't going anywhere. Especially Perry Central.

If they keep playing like they did 2nd half last night PCC will roll.

I agree........PCC is the team to bet considering they are the returning 14th region champs.

What were the results at the Mcdonalds Classic

I still beleive Hazard is the best team in this district.

I agree...There was a VERY questionable call there @ the end! Id say those @ the game will know what Im talking about.

I am going with PCC, they have been playing some great ball here twoards the end of the year and they are almost impossible to beat come tourney time. :dancingpa

Amis is a senior and you would have 2 include him on that list to. I would throw Justin Stacey in as a junior and John Yancy as a fresh. Also include Jason Kelly as a soph.

I am feeling it already PCC walks away witha huge win 72-71.
