Harrison Co. has almost everybody back from a region semi team. Could push for the 4th spot, but looks like the big 3 again. Pendleton could surprise some people as well.Notre Dame is the clear-cut favorite in the 9th. Leslie Schelhaus. Jamie Wulfolk and Morgan Ebner will bring the leadership the Pandas need. Two big losses for NDA are setter Jenna Schriver(graduated) and Ashley Robinson(ACL). They should have enough to make it back to state. St Henry will be good with Erin Fortner, Caela Flood and Taryn Ward, but will they have enough fire power to take the region? Time will tell. The 10th will be up for grabs. Campbell, Highlands and NCC will fight it out in October for the crown. Too close to call on this one.

Kindergarten wow! It used to be just soccer and tball that started that young. I guess that is what we need to start doing in northern KY to keep up with Louisville! I sure hope that interest continues to grow in young kids.
Where do you coach?
-
He told me earlier at least 1 more. Could have changed his mind though.Reliable sources tell me that Powell's Coach Jones will go at least another year. -
ThrusdayGreat job Deming. When is Demings next game, with my luck I am sure it is the same night as the Lady Saints game.
-
Where was she?
Hurt.

Harrison won 2 out of 3 in 2005/2006 with Brooke Faulkner etc., but hasn't won since.
-
Any of these considered upsets?
No not really.

Yep Ahrens is a senior (the older Ahrens) and she's working hard to try to make it back for the second half of her senior season but it'll be a quick return if it can happen at all and will only be tried because of her being a senior.Crawford is only a junior so is even less likely to make it back this coming season but is also a chance to return late in the season. And the loss to transfer is not a done deal yet either so we'll just have to see how it all plays out.Good luck to all the girls from Bracken and elsewhere.Just happy to see Basketball ready to start!!
Good Luck. Hope Ahrens gets to play. Hard on kids to miss their senior year.
-
Sorry to hear about that. Isn't Ahrens a senior?Bracken County lost C Chelsea Ahrens and G Jaclyn Crawford to ACL tears and G Brittany Burden transferred to Manchester! All 3 would have seen significant Varsity minutes for the Lady Bears...

Who got hurt or left?I was thinking Bracken Co. would have been the favorite but with their injuries and losing another for relocating I dont know anymore. It could be St. Patrick has the edge. Its my understanding that they had an excellant summer. Mason Co. lost alot in the big 3. I just think they will be too young this year as well as getting used to a new system under a new coach. Augusta will continue to improve. -
Anybody got the scoop?
-
Former Thomas More head coach Darrell McLean took the Pendleton Co. volleyball job. He was also an assistant at UC, Xavier, and LSU(1 year). Came out of retirement last year to assist Bill Faulkner at Harrison Co.

your forgiven, but just this once.I apologize for my confusing of decades. It is a problem I have, but I don't know why. I sometimes refer to last year as 1997. 2005 was the redistricting year. Please forgive me junkie. I would never intentionally not "get my facts straight." I beg your mercy oh great one. -
Not trying to dog Bracken. Just curious - who else was in the 38th when they won 10-12 years in a row?Winning the District 10-12 years in a row seems pretty sucsessful to me. Bracken County just needs to get someone in to Coach that will be around longer then 3-4 years and continue to build the program back to what it use to be . Coach Schultz would have done her best to do that . But the Administration thought otherwise, guess they like to keep things on the move, untill they find someone that will answer YES to whatever THEY want. Take that for what it is worth with an Unqualified Administration making the decisions at the High School. -
Bracken was in the 38th through 2005. Teams were re-districted at that time. After Brossart and Campbell came in, Bracken was never much of a factor. Don't know about before then. You need to get your facts straight.History of success is all a matter of how you view it. For example, Bracken County has to hold the record for the most 38th district titles even though they have not been a part of that district since 1995. They also have some regional success, although no championships. They also have Class "A" state tournament history. There is quite a fine tradition there. -
Not true. If HHS would have hit their layups that would have won going awayI was told the refs were really really really bad. One guy seemed to just want to give the Harrison Co coach his whistle, or as i was told the one ref looked like a puppet. If that is true i feel bad for the HHS girls. -
Harrison shouldn't have won by 35 before, but were clearly the better team first time around. Obviously the tale of 2 teams. One going up - the other going down.
-
I didn't mean to imply that they break early all the time. I meant to imply he has done it for years.
And usually, it occurs in the 2nd half, more often than not. Especially, if he sees that the opponent is crashing the boards and not rotating anyone back.
Comment was meant for ridgerunner.

Bracken as I said does have some nice young players, but I was also disappointed in #31. She didn't work to get the ball, and wouldn't work to get in rebounding position. Mac doesn't have his guard break early all the time. He calls it in the huddle or discusses it at half time. I'm sure it's in is game plan only against certain teams. It's the opponents job to stop it though. If I was the coach, I would have somebody back when the shot goes up. I know Mac and most coaches designate 1 guard to stay back. I'm surprised Coacch Schultz kept letting it happen.

What happened to those Lady Bears? This one all HCHS. They do have some nice young atheletes, but are a long way from making a statement in the 10th region.
-
Let's see what they do Thrusday. If they play Harrison close or beat them, I'd say they have turned the corner. Harrison is somewhat down this year, but still in the top 5 or 6 in the region, and could give Bracken a better measuring stick than W. Jessamine.
-
The lady bears defeated a good west jessamine team today at the villa tournament. my question is now that coach schults has the girls playing some good basketball how come no one is talking? whenever the Lady bears are playing bad and lose games they should win I here you guys talking on here. how come no one is talkin now?
West Jessamine is 3-8, and has been blown out by over 40 twice. I don't think I would call that a good team.

Media isn't included. How does that fit in with Title 9? -
Has been going on the last couple of years. Look on the khsaa website and you'll see games for tomorrow night.
