  1. 2 tough, good running backs (No single back to load up on) and a passing game that you can turn to. Block hard, Run tough, stop the run. Oh yeah - and pass the ball. Duece is only going to get better and as he does, the passing game opens up. Throw in good receivers and a good line. Most will gamble on Defense given the pass / run combination. O-Line picks it up and we score a lot. Defense playing awesome. Stay on your reponsibilities and finish. Great season. Work in those underclassmen. Finish. What an opportunity!

  2. X had too much for Meade tonight. Meade could not get anything going. We were overmatched. I am proud of the way the Greenwave turned their season around. I do not want this to sound like I am disrespecting anyone so please don't take this wrong but, It is hard for a public school to compete with the likes of X and T. We have kids on our team that are in our school district only. As a public school we were playing against kids from all over the state and kids I believe from out of the state. The best of the best. I take nothing from X, they were and are the better team. We can talk about this until our faces turn blue. But everyone must agree that any public school consistantly cannot compete with X & T with the way they pull in players state wide. Greenwave you have nothing to be ashamed of. You gave it your all and that is all anyone can ask of you. Good luck St X and Trinity with what you have you are where you should be. This should be a great game next Saturday. May God bless both of you.:thumb:

The Greenwave gave it a good effort. Thanks fo the BOLD, Underlined. Good Luck next year.

  3. Do I have this right - How does this team compare to the Meade county team st. X faced in the first round of the playoffs in '04 (?). The first drive 80 yards and mostly run. 7-0 Meade county. Then Tronzo and team take over, Big Uglies do their job and final 59-7. Go Tigers. Good job to Meade for getting here and beating Male.

  4. In what way are they inherently different? please explain.

Catholic vs. Christian vs. Jewish vs. protestant vs. atheistic vs.humanistic?

Paid for by the parents whose children attend (mostly) or paid for by taxes?

Pay for mine and your kid vs. pay for only your kid?

Tradition based programs (support regardless of success) vs. performance only based programs?

Disciplined based programs vs. Individual focused programs?

Academic and athletics vs. one or the other?

Student love for the school vs. assigned based on neighborhood, race etc.?

Always wanted to attend vs. Go there because I have to?

Prayer in classrooms and taught to all vs. not allowed to pray or worship?

My great great grandfather, great grandfather, grandfather, father and I all prayed to go to school vs. I go because the state tells me where to go

  5. I think matches 1, 5 and 8 will be very entertaining. South Laurel is undefeated on the season but hasn't played a schedule that is up to par with the better teams in this tournament while Henry Clay will feature Gwen Rucker who has committed to Louisville to play volleyball and basketball.

Elizabethtown, Marshall County, and Caldwell County will be making their first trip to state and I'm not sure if this is Henry Clay's first trip to state or not.

I think the best volleyball will of course be played in the three above mentioned matches then again on Saturday in the semifinals and finals.

I will predict, as I have all season long, Mercy will defeat Newport Central Catholic in the state finals. Yes you read it right. For some reason, I have had this feeling all season long that Mercy was going to be the state champion. If I am wrong then I'll be the first to admit it.

No matter the outcome, I wish everyone that is associated the all 16 teams the best of luck in your journey for the state title. Please have a safe trip up here to Highland Heights and enjoy your time up here. Like I said in another thread, I will be PA Announcer for the tournament and if anyone wants to come say hello in between each match, then feel free to come on over.

    Assumption Wins!!

Mercy and NDA played tough but #14 is in the books. Mercy had a fine year. They beat Assumption at home during the season! That's having a good year. It's too bad they can't change things so SHA could be a part of the tournament. All fine teams.

Today KIVA tryouts start. No rest for Louisville volleyball.

  6. Either be a fan or don't......you are not a fan, as evidenced by your posts.

You left out the choice to just watch the games for good football (not booing, screaming expletives, leaving during the game before it is over and being in the seat at kickoff?) and struggling to find much? Hope is a great thing. But it has never made a stop on 3rd down and will never break up a long touchdown pass.

I support you being a "fan" and your optimistic attitude.
