  1. ALso give us credit last week no turnovers. We have worked hard on hanging on to the ball. Also this is a different team than traveled to Ashland. We dont even have the same QB and our QB is a big part to our sucess now.

No doubt on that!! this kid can play!!

  2. Not quite. Everyone knew that Male would have a tough time with Trinity.

As for the national ranking ... big deal. Lots of good it did them.

It wasn't just Owensboro Catholic. Several of the top contenders fielded better teams last year, in my opinion ... Trigg County and Owensboro Catholic in the west and Belfry and maybe Russell in the east, to name some.

I believe Belfry this year is much better than last years squad........

I do think the 03' was the best team of them all

  3. How has Belfry's D Line faired against line with size. Also can your D line come off big people ,run down the wing t and make plays ... In 2004 you folks had a kid #37 - d line ,that wasn't very big but ran sideline to sideline and really got some good hits on Gross .. Is your line as talented as that kid ..

I think this is one of the best defensive backfield Belfry has fielded in years...

They are quick to get to the ball, and make hits... As long as they keep wraping up, and not arm tackling... But last few weeks, they have been locked & loaded... Lee, Kohari, & others have been instrumental...

One thing this team does, that Belfry is known for is hit, and they HIT HARD..

  4. I think it would be nice to play the Semi's at local college stadiums.

Frankly tho, where would Belfry play, Pikeville college? CAM is NICER than Pikeville College's home field! If they were forced to play at Morehead, Belfry would actually have to travel FURTHER than the opponent this week.

It is fine and just the way it is.

    doesnt PC play at Hambley???

  5. That's my understanding as well. They have what's called a soft intermission where they encourage everyone to leave. But you can stay for the next game as well. If you leave then you will definately have to purchase another ticket.

    There is usually four sections.....

    They alternate,

If it is the same format as last year, there is no assigned seats, because in 03' there were assigned seats, and you had to sit where your tickets were..

but in 04' you could sit wherever you pleased..

Anyways, the first teams play, and sit opposite sides as each other..

Home team on the home side, Away team on away..

Then during the first game, the second games fans sit according on the side

of the home/away teams.. So by the end of the first game, you have both

home teams beside each other, and both away teams beside each other..

when the first game is over, the first games fan usually leave to celebrate

Then as the 2nd game plays, the 3rd games fans usually take the place of the

1st games fans seats, according to the home/aways status.. But definley

don't worry, the only game that comes close to feeling the stadium up, will be

    the 4A game... the 1A 2A & 3A will be lucky to have 7-10k a game... which

usually doesnt fill up not even 40% of the staduim.. and LOL.. i know thats confusing, i hope it makes since.. lol if not someone delete it ... i hope i could help someone make sense of things lol

  6. I think one team that everyone should watch out for next year, is Sheldon Clark.. IMO they have a great oppurtunity to be really good.. They have

alot coming back.. They were a very young team this year, and still managed to knock off a good Lesie Co. team..

  7. IMHO,

I don't think Russell is a better team. I think these teams are extremely closely

matched. Its been forever ago since Russell had been to the State Championship game. They had been so close, so many times. It was at a

boiling point. They were as hungry as Belfry was back in 03'. When someone

is that determined to not be stopped, they'll be hard to bring down. That

along with being home, propelled the Russell team to the win. If the situation

was reversed, and Belfry had been so close so many times, and hadn't been

in a long time, I would say they would have won at home. What I would have

liked to seen, is last nights game played at Belfry. IMO, it would have been

    an even better game.

  8. That is correct.. 2 1/2 trip is a disadvantage.

But I do like the phrase who wanted it more.

Because you see how Russell came out hungry. Did you see the determination

they had to make it to the state championship. I think these teams were

evenly matched. Its been a long time coming for Russell, and I think they

were more hungry for it, along with revenge. All those underclassmen on last

years teams remember what it felt like walking off the field at Vipperman last

year, just one win away from thier dreams. And watching Belfry celebrate. And it showed. Russell came out with fire. Now the situation has changed. All those freshman, sophomores, and juniors off of this years Pirate team will remember how it felt last night, watching Russell celebrate right in front of them. Now they can use that as a tool, of motivation next year, to get back on top.

  9. This was a big game and not every one has what it take to play and win big games thats the answer for the first half of play and why the game came out with Russell on top they have what it takes. ;)

I do believe Belfry has what it takes to play in big games. Two close state

championship games (one in OT) that Belfry won (Which are the biggest games

of all). You guys go down there an win the title, and then you can say you

    won big games.

The reason for the outcome is because it's obvious Russell wanted this game

more. Seemed to me, Belfry was satisfied with two state championships,

didn't really show any hunger for anymore pizza. Heck, the only time they

showed a little life was in the second half. I do have to give credit to

Belfry's Defensive unit, they stepped up big in the second half. Belfry

has got to understand, you have to play your best ALL 4 quarters. Because

when you have Belfry across your chest, its like having a big bullseye on you.

Every teams going to play thier best against you. And Russell came with it,

and came out with more hunger, and more intensity, and simply outplayed the

pirates tonight. Prepare for next season, learn from your mistakes, GET THAT HUNGER BACK.. and to Russell, Congratulations, Take care of business in L'Ville. G'luck

  10. I would think that Russell would be the underdog. They are up against the two time State Champs.

    LOL welp you thought wrong..

last year and the year before arn't this year..

if it was the 03 or 04 squad, then yeah, i could say Russell is underdogs..

but this is a new season, this is the 05' squad. They've got to make a name

for thier own. they are up against a awesome Russell team, rated better

than thierselves. They've still got something to prove, to show the state

why they shouldn't be rated behind Russell.. So Russell isn't the underdog.
