Gratz to the Cavs, theyve worked hard to improve considering the obstacles they had to overcome the last few years. :thumb: :thumb:

Belfry has always been good but with Pburg they have seem to drop in intensity and have not been as good in the last 2 years I can think of. Belfry can easily take home the win as long as they dont overlook Prestonsburg. With keeping Valley on the schedule its a good idea since Valleys program is improving and the facilities are awesome. Next year Valley is going to be better and Valleys program is doing good this year with the prospects of going 6-4 or maybe even 7-3.

Shelby Valleys best kicker was probly Americo, he was an exchange student(cannot remember how to spell his name). I saw him kicking 60-70 field goals and could not punt that well as far as punters I would go with Josh Tackett who could just about put that ball on any part of the field he wanted.

Belfry has great parking. You can even park probably a little closer to the field than you can at Valley. We have one real big parking lot that is right behind the home bleachers. Im anxious to seeValleys new turf they always did have a nife set up anyways.

ok here i go... i think that valley is one of the darkest horses theyve went 5 and 0 and got a chance to go 8-2 7-3 and they will be gettin better so who know maybe 5-2 9-1 next year.

Great point..I almost mentioned them, but, since I limited it to 3 teams, they weren't mentioned..They also may well be a top 5 team by yearend, thus, wouldn't be a shocker to see em in Louisville..

For them to get to papa johns they would have to get past belfry and p-burg which though sheldon clark is good i dont think that they can overcome both belfry and pburg

Valley has got a good chance against East Ridge and i think valley is capable of taking pburg but as far as SC or belfry goes valley has the abliity its just a rise to the challenge thing and will haft to play hard to stay with the caliber of sc or belfry.

In essence Valley hasnt played Pikeville where Mcname was at and Saunders is from a different area so that means that he has seen different methods to coaching and will be bringing what worked over there to here.

Either way its going to a new level with new coaches and new styles of coaching its going to be one heck of a game but im going to say

What was wrong with the field they had??:confused:

The field was interrible need of redone. It flooded easy and didnt drain so it was a mud filed (the players didnt complain lol) but it was just a hassle to pay to resod/regrass and redo the field every year not to mention the football team working on it to keep it up.

This in fact is a true statement. In all honesty with no bias for either team, just a neutral standpoint, Matewan beat Shelby Valley a lot harder than the score indicated. It would have truley been a crime if Matewan did not win, and I wouldn't have been suprised to see Matewan beat SV by around 20, because if you were in attendence, or if you listened to the radio it was clear Matewan was beating them a lot more than the score indicated. To be honest, the only reason Shelby Valley hung descent numbers was due to the weak secondary of Matewan. It was basically a fade every time for Valley that any progess was made down field. However, by throwing on the weak secondary (the fade especially) they did score, but like I said and like others have said this should have been Matewans by 2-3 touchdowns.

 

McCoy, the RB for Matewan had an incredible game, and basically ran at Will on SV's defense. He had 170 at the half, and I wouldnt be suprised if he didn't finish with around 300+ rushing yards. All this with a 93 yard called back, not to mention like a 50 yarder called back. More importantly he was Matewans 2nd rusher as their number one guy went down with an injury earlier this season. Like said to sum all this up, a few skewed calls may have brought the score closer, but in all actuality the game wasn't that close at all.

Well with alot of bias lol im going to say that even if shelby valley wasnt as good as the score said then what really helped SV was the coaching since Saunders and his staff did pick out matewans weak secondary so in all SV played good and used matewans weakness against. In the end it didnt win them the game but they still stayed close to matewan and thats showing that SV is improving coaching wise and that can make or break a game that was this close.

Matewan is usually good sucks that Valley lost but it seems that valley is starting to improve and become the program that it can be.

Gratz to the players of Valley looks like they are going to do good this year as for the whole situation running the ball or throwing should not have made a difference since the clock would have been ran continous. I didnt like Valley pounding the snot out of Phelps. It had happened to me I didnt like it but thats valleys coach not the player I congradulate the players on a well executed game. The Coach, to me, was making a statement meaning that He was there to win and not mess around. I hope it dosent backfire on him.

I played for many coaches over the past years at Shelby Valley. As an Alumnists of Shelby Valley and a former football player I have never played under a better staff than Coach Hampton, Osborn, and Damron. As for Hamptons first year he has done better than what a lot of coaches could, with being named head coach not long before the football season. I, personally have not played under a better group of coaches, Coach Hampton gives motivation, a real asset as a coach. Coach Osborne gives confidence that players need. Coach Damron gives a father liek relationship upon which a player does not want to disappoint. This chemistry of coaches is an excellent combination. IMO they need to be given a couple of years to see what they can build the program into. I was there to witness politics and IMO i dont think that the politics will be able to stay if those coaches stay.
