Someone else. Don't know who. Anyway, if Vanhoose is willing to pay the price and work as was stated by the cubster then I hope he is rewarded with an offer that makes him happy. Doesn't matter what we think. I wish him all the success he earns. Back on topic.

I have heard today that he has been penciled in as the QB. I will have to take some pictures. I will also say that if he gets a step it will be 6.
-
Cmon now, there are a lot more colors in there than just maroon. Ask Rickyp he's a frequent customer, but sometimes he makes his parents pick up the tab.
How much would you pay for a picture of the doc wearing maroon? Just joking I would never be a turncoat to my friend. I guess loyalty is a characteristic that we all share.

I didn't know how many. I didn't think that they were tremendously effective on the ground even with the diversity of having a quality passing attack. Total offense for them was actually less that Ashland I think. Special teams is where the game was won. Ashland got called for a penalty or they were up 9-0 and Raceland had two great returns, one for 6. Football is a funny game. I don't think that Ashland has any kids that are capable of breaking a long one, they will have to be very discipline and learn to finish drives with points if they are to be competitive.
-
How many rushing yard did Raceland have against Ashland?
-
Grand slam for 10-9 win I think.
I think we were both wrong about how many were on. I have just been told that Lambert doubled, Adams pinch ran, and Bair homered. The final score was 10-9, but the homer was a two run blast. I believer the source of that information is credible.

Some kids like to play for their home school or county.
His uncle won a state baseball title for the Raiders in '84 with a dramatic grand slam homer.
Wasn't it a three run dinger? I thought they were down 2 in the 7th.

That's somewhere over in the orient isn't it?
Confusion say "one must play game on field not on paper"
Confusion also say "don't eat yellow snow"
-
That Yak is one smart bovine! The state championship isn't played in September is it?
Just in the state of confusion.
-
Yes but you do realize that was the ONLY loss that Russell had on their way to winning the state championship. Plus it was to a non ranked 3a team.
BTW Russell finished the season at 14-1 last year...........:sssh:
I am just saying that to think that Ashland doesn't have a chance in any of these games is wrong. They may lose all, they may win all. Russell won all but 1 (against an average opponent)
-
Russell got beat by an unranked Boyd County team last year. Gotta play the game.
-
Also in fairness to Ashland, I know the guy who scheduled RH's games and he didn't call Verity. So, I hope that people aren't hacking on Ashland for not scheduling them, they weren't called. They were presumed to have a full schedule at the late date that RH scheduling occurred. I'm thankful that Boyd placed the 2 together in their grid however to give the kids the chance to play.
I agree doc, personally I say "Let them play" Most need to keep in mind that up until this point Rose Hill has never had a football team and still have never fielded an 8th grade football team. This could create a problem for them if trying to schedule games next year.
-
In fairness I would say that Ashland's schedule was probably completed before Rose Hill began scheduling.
I guess that could be one of the obvious reasons. Scheduling? I realize it must have been difficult to arrange a schedule at such a late date. Kudos to the Rose Hill staff for completing it. I even think I saw a thread on this board asking for games. Don't remember if there was any response. Even if there is no game scheduled in the future, do you feel like one is owed?
-
Verity is Ashland. Verity is Ashland's middle school. The thread, to be relevant to most BGPers, should have been titled "Rose Hill 22, Ashland 0" and should have remained in the football forum. Most, but certainly not all, of the damage was done by players who reside in the Ashland district. Of course, those players also reside in the Rose Hill district. For obvious reasons, the two teams will not meet later in the season.
When were the two schools involved schedules made out? Was it before this game or still undecided?

I can't imagine her letting that happen! They'll always have the scarlet letter, and although you had one as well, just a different one! Imagine if another Yak up the road heard you were bringing your little Yaks to get a different scarlet letter. He'd jump for joy! Then the odds of playing RH in foosball would be very good!
Probably right. She is funny that way. Would be a good joke someday.
-
I watched that and they were awful, no thanks, of course that was Butkus, perhaps Ditka would be better. I don't want to make Mrs. Yak upset, I don't understand why she would be. She doesn't have a dog in the fight. Of course, in the future, I could see RH as another alternative for kids that are disgruntled with other programs to leave, something Cubster is incredibly high on.
My bad it was Butkus. She would be upset if she thought that her little yaks were going to play elsewhere. That would be the joke.
-
You mean your Mrs. Yak? Is she not terribly high on the RH foosball quest? Or did I misinterpret?
Yes my Mrs. Yak. She can get worked up about trivial things like foosball and you know how boys love there mama.
-
I bought a t-shirt yesterday that says "This is gonna hurt on the front" and "I survived" on the back. I bought it for the doc. If they can get the Bear to coach I say go for it. Maybe Ditka can come in and do an ESPN show like last year on how to start a program instead of turning one around.
-
I guess I finished second in that race. Man I hate to lose. You need to tell Mrs. Yak that you they need some backers and see her blow up.
-
If those kids attend high school at Rose Hill and want to play football, why not make the effort. When Buttermaker's kids were in the Astrodome the crowd chanted "Let them play, let them play!" I think it will be difficult to do but not impossible. Maybe they could hook up with KCU and play their home games in a brand new stadium on Friday instead of Saturday. Who knows.
-
I think you guys really are brothers!!!!!
Man I had the opportunity and I had to take the shot. I would be honored to be considered his brother, however I will never fish with him again unless it is from the bank of a chartered boat.
-
Who is coaching and leading the pack at Rose Hill?
Don't start on the coaches, people get defensive. Couldn't resist C'Ville and Oldrambler.
-
Excellent point and since it came from you it is also shocking.
I was thinking, I know this kid who hits leadoff for his little league team. His on base percentage is good and if he gets on he scores. I was wondering if he needed an advisor. I don't think he gets much help at home.
-
I just hope that others don't spoil the gifts that they have been given. Very few will ever get the opportunity that these will. I hope that things work out for them. Randy Moss fell in the draft due to off the field issues. I realize that it was in different league but it cost him considerably on his first contract and in endorsements. The question was never if he could physically play just the baggage.
