I don't see how anybody could overlook anybody when your this close to a state championship. I'm gonna go with PRP in this one.
-
Christian County will win this one by as many as they want.
-
FYI The Mason County game will be made up as the nitecap of a DH today with Harrison squaring off verses Scott County in the opener.

The Coaches Poll seems a little strange. Here are some of what I see:
1. Paul Dunbar at #10 (17-11)?????????
2. Tates Creek at #15 (20-12)????????
3. Henry Clay at #16 (20-10)?????????
4. Louisville Ballard at #25 (19-10)????
No disrespect to these teams, but it seems like a lot of deserving teams are ignored. Here are some of the teams I've found are overlooked:
1. St. Mary (20-6)
2. Bourbon Co. (20-4)
3. Harrison Co. (20-5)
4. Leslie Co. (23-4)
5. East Carter (25-5)
Not even an honorable mention vote for either of these five teams. There are also several other 20 game winners without a single vote (Raceland 21-8, Russell 22-12, Fairview 20-9- and that is just from the 16th region).
Plus, Clark County received two votes and there isn't even a Clark County High School! If you are thinking they meant George Rogers Clark, they also are on the list with votes!
Can't explain the GRC and Clark County thing. Harrison and Bourbon have played much weaker schedules than the others who are rated with worse records. That's not to take anything away from the Thorobreds and Colonels accomplishments, because both teams have had outstanding seasons.

The way it has turned out, Harrison has only played 1 game this week and hopefully will get to play Scott County on Friday. The time they need to be on the field aganst some stiffer competition the most, the weather has sure dampened those opportunities. The Breds are young and inexperienced and can use as much game situation and good competition as they can get. These late season rainouts have really hurt.
-
He was ruled eligible and is playing.
-
Why didn't they play against Scott the other night I know it wasn't too wet.
I take it you were at their field?
-
I hope the players have the same attitude as you guys and they will not last too long in the tournaments. They could get Bracken in the first game of the region that would help them out.
Believe me, the attitude is what makes Harrison County special !!!!! Most teams only wish they could sport the Harrison County attitude and then be able to back it up on the field like Harrison County has been able to do for about 30 years. They may not win the region, but who would have thought they would be 20-4 going in to the last week of the regular season? They do have a legitimate shot of winning the Regional too.
-
Sounds to me like it is raining now in Northern Kentucky and too wet to play! You guys are killing me. FYI - Campbell cancelled the first game at Campbell. Harrison does play at Tates Creek tonight weather permitting.
-
An interesting concept, but the official recordkeeping would be much more difficult. I do agree that it has some merit though.
-
Harrison County is 20-4 and they don't even get a vote...but Model does???
I'm sure Coach W and the Breds like to fly under the radar when possible.
-
I agree with the PC/HC showdown in the championship, but I guess you forgot what the Cats almost did to Harrison in the regional tourney last year. Without Custard's two out blast in the bottom of the seventh, Harrison would've been knocked out in the first round of region. If you remember correctly, Pendleton didn't have that good of a record last year either, but they came ready to play in the postseason. I am not saying they will pull off the upset, but I don't think it will be as big a margin as you think it will be.
How could I forget? That was the greatest "almost" moment in Pendleton County Baseball History. But, as you know almost don't count. It's a shame to have to always refer to an almost win. I still say Harrison in 5 if they want to win it in 5.
-
I agree, they have had some of their tougher games rained out. This week could be a good test for them with Scott, Newport Central Catholic, Tates Creek, Scott County, and someone else.

Nathan Mutsch from Brossart... IMO is better than Curley.
I have seen him throw and that gun you use needs to be re-calibrated.
-
With all due respect to Coach Whitaker, best coach in the state may be a little strong given the level of play and tenure of some other top programs as well - top 5 definitely.
Name one who is better and has accomplished as much?
-
Who would have thought after losing 9 seniors and 2 players who were expected to start this year that Harrison County would be 20-4? Hats off for a job well done.
-
here's the link, Danville is a top 5 team in the state.

They sure didn't look it when they played in the Ken's New Market Tournament and lost to Conner.

Who pitched for Boyle? Who is supposed to be the strongest of these two teams. I know Boyle had a good team last year and I thought they had several players returning.

Spalding University-
2002, 2003, and 2005 NAIA College World Series Participant (finished 5th at the W.S. last year)
Saint Catharine College- NJCAA
2004 and 2005 NJCAA D-II Super Regional (one strike away from NJCAA
World Series in '05) currently 36-12 going into the post season.
There are some good college baseball programs in Ky. at all levels.
You got that right!

Coach Hamilton does a great job and is a super guy. Rumor is he could be the next coach at Morehead.
I have heard that, but I also have heard for 4 years that Brad Shelton (St. Catharine's and currently University of the Cumberlands) will be the next coach at Morehead State.

Ouch! Just when I thought the Indians had righted the ship.
-
Congrats to the Indians. Looks as if they have turned the heat up in the 40th District.
-
I should have moved Scott out of the Top 5 and put Campbell in.
-
1st of all Scott has beat Harrison and Mason. Also has Bourbon played Brossart? Scott has shut out both Brossart and Campbell. They have only lost to Clark Co. in the 10th to my knowledge.
And, last year Campbell beat Harrison in 5 innings on the Hilltop. Campbell was shut out by Harrison in the season's first meeting at Campbell and again in the Region when it matters most. Believe me, Scott will get no respect in the 10th Region until they do something in the post season to earn respect.
Harrison County/Deming 38th District Championship Friday.

Breds will win this one by 20! Fillies could win by 10. There will be no problem for the Breds tonight and Coach K will get his first District Championship!
