  1. First off, her name is Sydney. Second, she will be attending Boone Co. next year. Third, not quite sure whether she will be eligable to play or sit a year, right now it is up in the air.

What grade is she in? If she played in one varsity game as a 9th grader or above she is locked in to KHSAA transfer rules.

  2. Word is that the Michigan coaches are very impressed with Miles and like him at Safety or "hybrid" Linebacker. Several in attendance at the 1 day camp in Ann Arbor said he was the "most impressive physically" of any player there. There were 80 invites to this camp. He did not participate in the afternoon drills...anyone have info on that? It seems Miles may be real close to an offer from the Wolverines. :thumb:

  3. Well, wonder were Josh will go for spring break? He will already be at the beach! Sounds like a great place to go to school and play ball.

Great facilities, they have a large following of fans, former nky player Steve Ridder from Bellevue is the coach and has built a real power. Robby Padgett former St. Henry player had a great career there (maybe all time leading scorer?) He does a great job of still keeping up with ky high school basketball. He also has a great team camp and will give Kentucky schools a real break if they go. I know Brossart and Campbell County have been in the past. Good Luck Josh!

  4. This is probably going to sound like I'm coming down on Ernst more than I really am, but he needs to do a little research. Games were actually played in NKY prior to the six years he's been watching them.

The headline says Beechwood's upset is one for all time, and then all-time becomes roughly half a decade. A list of 10 upsets in six years, is nearly two per year, which while were all upsets, are hardly the top ones most of us have witnessed in NKY. Seems lazy to me. If you're going to give us Ludlow beating CovCath in 04 as number one, at least make a few phone calls to find out what the Panthers actual record was entering the game. Three wins and six losses, are you kidding me?

But, this isn't about Ernst, and he did a good job finding the top 10 in the last six years. I think Beechwood's upset this year goes beyond that though and is really one of the bigger upsets of all-time in NKY.

Once again you right on the money Sandman. :notworthy:

  5. Congratulations to the Thorobreds. An apparent umpire screw up led to the disqualification of Harrison County 2B Matthew Dye in the bottom of the 6th inning. On what should have been an inning ending double play there was no signal so Dye continued running and when he approached home plate the Beechwood catcher was so far up the baseline that when Dye dove for the plate, the umpire ruled that he was trying to run over the catcher and thus disqualified him from the game. This means that he will have to sit out the opening round game of the State Tournament. If anyone has a videotape of the play it would be nice to see it, to see if there is some sort of an appeal to be made for the young man. He is an excellent ball player and a super person and it is a shame that a poor call by the men in blue will cost him a chance to play in the opening round at Applebee's Park. Congratulations to Eric Case and Bobby Feeback for coming up with run scoring hits in the 2nd inning and for Dye getting a run scoring hit in the 4th. Logan Dailey went the distance to get the win for the Thorobreds.

That is terrible for the player, I would say that they would need some tape to reverse this situation.

  6. Yes the AD is the same.....I have respect for him although disagree with his choice of not keeping Coach Kues. And I do not agree with the parents complaints about Coach Kues either.............but they are as I stated some of the same complaints.

I will say that Coach Kues really hurt himself when he brought on board his new assistant coach this year.

All coaches have different styles, it doesn't make one better than the other. Coach K's assistant just happens to be very vocal and demanding. Maybe he was too loud for the small gym and crowds. He was also used to coaching boys at a fairly high level.

  7. From what I understand, it is only a 2 years series this time too. When last years freshman are seniors (in 3 years, a year after the series is over) Highlands will not want any part of them!

You can not be serious. Highlands is Highlands they wont back down from Beechwood.

  8. WOW what a surprise:idunno: Rumor had it that someone in the school wanted the position last season after the season had started and was making that known. The person that was interested was from a 9th region A school and let go for unknown reasons and while being a varsity coach has no where near the credentials of coach Kues. If the administration gave in due to someone being in the building that may not be as quailified but pushed for the job which I hope this is not the case, than shame on them!

A similiar thing was done to Steve Hart a number of years back, so this would not surprise me.

One thing is for sure, I was looking forward to my daughter playing for Coach Kues, but now NO WAY is she headed to the Grove. It is very obvious that the interest of the kids is not being placed first:madman:.

Brossart would be very lucky to get this man back, but as has been said before by many others, the AD has an opinion that just will not change, so don't look for them to come calling anytime soon.

Again I hope this is rumor, but if not good luck coach Kues and you will be missed by the parents and players at Silver Grove.

Does this mean that former Bellevue coach and current teacher at SG Bev Smith gets the job?
