  1. Jacob lost 3-2 to Adam Pittman from Great Bridge. Going for fifth against the #1 seed Cubberly.
  2. 135 pounds Max Shananaman of Blair Academy moved to the finals with a 3-2sv upset over Pemberville's Ryan Cubberly the top seed. Cubberly got on the board first with a takedown in the first period to lead 2-0. Shananaman escaped to trim the score to 2-1. Shananaman tied the match at 2-2 with an escape in the second period. Cubberly chose neutral to start the third period and neither wrestler came close to scoring. The match went to over time and again neither wrestler came close to scoring. Cubberly had choice in the :30 second period and took top. Cubberly twice droped to the ankle but Shananaman was able to kick out for the winning points. Zack Kemmerer of Upper Perk took control of his match from neutral for a 7-5 win over Jacob Murton of Lawrence County. After a scoreless first period, Murton took a 2-0 lead with a nearfall tilt. Kemmerer was able to escape from bottom and then began controlling the match from his feet scoring three takedowns in the final two periods for the win.
  3. 135 pounds In a match that made you drop your jaw, Ryan Cubberly of Pemberville Eastwood defeated Adam Pittman of Great Bridge 3-2. What was odd about it, was that Pittman was riding Cubberly tough and cut him loose with :03 left in the match, giving Cubberly the winning point as he sat sprawled on his belly. He'll take it. Cubberly will face Blair's Max Shanaman, a 10-2 winner of Collins Hill (Ga.) senior Thomas Knapp. Zack Kemmerer of Upper Perk advanced past Shawn Harris of St. Edward 5-3. The real surprise for many might be the dominance of Jacob Murton, a 13-8 winner of Jordan Burroughs of Winslow Township. Murton, from Lawrence County, Ky., powered past Burroughs with a series of tough tilts and a very tough leg-ride. He's the #2 seed, but people know him now.
  4. Jacob is in the semi's. He won 13-8 over Jordan Burroughs from New Jersey and has Zack Kemmerer from Upper Perkiomen,Pa next.Kemmerer won the Ironnman last weekend.
  5. Jacob Murton is entered in the Beast of The East this weekend at 135 lbs. Good Luck to Jacob. http://www.intermatwrestle.com/high_school/beastpreview.aspx
  6. Ruschell placed 6th at the Kaufman-Brand Open at Nebraska-Omaha. 20 and under div. Lost to backup from Okla.St.(he won the tourney) in quarters. The other 125lb.(2 time state champ from Wisc.) freshman that didn't place they talk about, not the kid from Ky. Looks like he did really well. They don't talk about Kyle on the UW website, but he's on the brackets at the tourney website. http://gomavs.unomaha.edu/tournament.php?sport_name=wrestling&tournament_id=54
