I may be wrong here, but I have been told more than once, at least here in KY, if you are of legal age, which I guess is 18, that you MUST have ID with you at all times and be able to present it if asked by someone with the authority to ask for it. For many that would be a drivers license, but might be something else for some. Anyone know this to be fact?
Except when voting...

The $10.10 option would also be raised every year for inflation. The $9 option would not.

With this increase, the cost of everything bought will increase as well. Bye, Bye to the dollar menus. They will become the $2 dollar menus. These low wage workers will be pumped until they say, "wait a minute, I make $3 more dollars per hour, but I don't have any extra money." This is a political game. If people want to make more than the minimum wage, they can work their way up through the company, learn a trade or go to college. Minimum wage jobs are not supposed to be destination jobs or careers, they are supposed to be starter jobs. The concept of actually earning something is a lost concept in our country.

Secretary of State Kerry is to be saluted for elevating the discussion -- for thrusting the topic onto the world stage. I believe the initial funding level called for by the president is $1 billion, which is 1/800 of what we spent to bring liberty and democracy to Iraq.
This might explain why John Kerry wants green energy and global warming thrusted onto the world stage. $$$$$$$$

This again?
Can someone present a valid argument as to why I should care if global warming exists or not?
Exactly! None of us will live to know if it is true or not. The green people know this as do the global warming advocates. If it's not true, they made a massive amount of money and don't care. Bluegrasscard and Run To State are dead on. Follow the money!!! Global warming is about making money. It is the best business model ever! It is not a coincidence that the big time advocates are filthy rich from green money.
Is this site serious? https://www.carbonfund.org/individuals
I went in to buy a lifetime offset of my carbon for $16,320. For that amount of money, they will send me E-Certificate with my name on it.
Money, Money, Money...

I will say that before I bought my most recent home, I looked at the registry on line. And they're everywhere, if you've never searched. My neighborhood doesn't have anyone registered there anyway.
I have no sympathy for this person, but I think the key question is this... Would he be disbarred if he were arrested for the same crime while being a lawyer?
If the answer is yes, then don't let him take the bar.
If the answer is no, they need to let him take the bar.

@sml007, how did Doss, Burke and Ward (where did he go?) do as college players? Would love to hear how their college careers went. Thanks.
Don't know about Ward.

You need to re read my post. I am fact checking you. They DIDN'T always have a D1 qb waiting in the wings. Engler has had the proven ability to build some qb's with less talent. Nick Ward comes to mind first.
First of all, nobody is discrediting Coach Engler. I am sure he will do a good job and will definitely be able to develop QB's. Thank you for fact checking me. I stand corrected. Since the year 2000, LexCath has played with a D1 QB all but 4 years. Over the past 14 seasons, LexCath has played 10 seasons with a Division 1 QB. You are right, they DIDN'T always have a Division 1 QB. Just 10 of the past 14 years.
2000-2002 - Jacob Doss - D1 U of Wyoming
2003-2005 - Justin Burke - D1 NC State - U of Louisville
2006- Tyler Hancock - NAIA Georgetown College
2007 - 2009 - Nick Ward
2010 - 2012 - Kyle Bolin - D1 U of Louisville
2012/2013 - Reese Ryan - D1 Offers from UofL and Illinois
-
OK then I don't care about D1. You brought up D1 like that was the reason Lex Cath could pass the ball and Ryle won't because they don't have a D1 qb. You can't have it both ways. This is a question that was never a question at LexCath. They had D1 QB after D1 QB for the past 10 years or so. I am sure the new coach will select the kid that will give them the best chance to win.
No. You should actually read my post. I said, the question of "who will be the QB?" was never a question at LexCath because they always seemed to have a D1 kid waiting in the wings. I did not mention anything about "passing the ball". I also, said the new coach will select the kid that gives them the best chance to win.

Houston Hartz Owensboro Catholic
Drew Houliston Highlands
Jonathan Breeding Nelson County
all threw for better stats last year than Elijah Sindelar and none of them will be D1 quarterbacks.
Dylan Hamilton Betsy Layne
Tyler Ackerson Bellevue
Anthony Phillips Caverna
Devin Hayes Bowling Green
along with those listed above all threw for more yards than Drew Barker and not 1 will be a D1 quarterback.
This is the point. You are either D1 or you are not. Coaching, system, stats, etc. don't matter. Kids either have D1 talent or they don't.
-
Coaching and system has something to do with that. I personally watched their players and they are well drilled fundamentally and have an opportunity to play in a great system. Which comes first the chicken or the egg? Natural talent has more that 50% to do with being a great player but how much more is an age old question.
No kid has ever been given a D1 scholarship because of coaching or a system. The kid either has D1 skills, height, arm strength, etc. or he doesn't. Coaching and a good system helps kids make the right reads, have good mechanics, footwork, etc., but it will not make him D1.

This is a question that was never a question at LexCath. They had D1 QB after D1 QB for the past 10 years or so. I am sure the new coach will select the kid that will give them the best chance to win.

NO way Mike plays favorites. Plus one of the members on the committee I know for a fact was not a fan of Mikes for personal reasons. If that was the case and I know Turner knew this he should not have been on the committee period.
Don't know much about this situation, but my two rules for hiring committees are: #1 - Parents of current or soon to be players should never be on a hiring committee and #2 - Parents of current or soon to be players should NEVER be on a hiring committee.

Oh, and about that 97 percent claim.
Global Warming Alarmists Caught Doctoring '97-Percent Consensus' Claims
A few tidbits from the article:
Global warming alarmists and their allies in the liberal media have been caught doctoring the results of a widely cited paper asserting there is a 97-percent scientific consensus regarding human-caused global warming. After taking a closer look at the paper, investigative journalists report the authors’ claims of a 97-pecent consensus relied on the authors misclassifying the papers of some of the world’s most prominent global warming skeptics. At the same time, the authors deliberately presented a meaningless survey question so they could twist the responses to fit their own preconceived global warming alarmism.
Astrophysicist Nir Shaviv similarly objected to Cook and colleagues claiming he explicitly supported the ‘consensus’ position about human-induced global warming. Asked if Cook and colleagues accurately represented his paper, Shaviv responded, “Nope… it is not an accurate representation. The paper shows that if cosmic rays are included in empirical climate sensitivity analyses, then one finds that different time scales consistently give a low climate sensitivity. i.e., it supports the idea that cosmic rays affect the climate and that climate sensitivity is low. This means that part of the 20th century [warming] should be attributed to the increased solar activity and that 21st century warming under a business as usual scenario should be low (about 1°C).”
“I couldn’t write these things more explicitly in the paper because of the refereeing, however, you don’t have to be a genius to reach these conclusions from the paper,” Shaviv added.
Misleading the public about consensus opinion regarding global warming, of course, is precisely what the Cook paper sought to accomplish. This is a tried and true ruse perfected by global warming alarmists. Global warming alarmists use their own biased, subjective judgment to misclassify published papers according to criteria that is largely irrelevant to the central issues in the global warming debate. Then, by carefully parsing the language of their survey questions and their published results, the alarmists encourage the media and fellow global warming alarmists to cite these biased, subjective, totally irrelevant surveys as conclusive evidence for the lie that nearly all scientists believe humans are creating a global warming crisis.
These biased, misleading, and totally irrelevant “surveys” form the best “evidence” global warming alarmists can muster in the global warming debate. And this truly shows how embarrassingly feeble their alarmist theory really is.
No way!!! I am absolutely shocked!

This is a good get for the Tigers.

Of the three you mention, only one has been a HC before.
This is probably for another thread, but how important is HC experience? Does a person need to have successful head coaching experience or just head coaching experience? I believe this is completely overrated unless the person was successful as head coach.

Not surprising. The people already know the State of the Union. They live it on a daily basis. The only people that don't actually know the State of the Union are the President, his administration and the Congress.
-
How is this legal without action from Congress? If Congress doesn't act on this power grab I don't know who to have faith in anymore.
The Constitution is only concrete and matters when it benefits the Administration's agenda. When the Constitution doesn't benefit the Administration, it is a living, breathing, ever-changing document.

I would like to see a flat tax rather than an income tax. Tax every item people buy some percentage. Rich people will pay more because they will buy more. Also, EVERYONE would pay taxes. "Under the table" pay wouldn't matter. Too many people not paying a dime in taxes in our country. It is not sustainable. Don't want to pay taxes? Don't buy anything.

The State of the Union address is like a big pep rally. Everybody claps and cheers loudly, but nothing of substance is said and nothing of substance will be done.

From what I understand it will stay at 32 teams. For every team that plays up they will drop down the next school on the list.
The school has to agree to play down. I assume if a 1A team wants to move up, they will start at the bottom and ask everyone in 2A if they want to move down until they find a taker.
-
Maybe I am wrong but I just don't see this mass movement of teams wanting to play up in class. I understand why a few will, but I don't see it being a widespread issue.
I predict that there will be many requests from 4A teams in the East to move up in class. 4A East is tough. 5A East is weak. There will have to be some type of parameters set other than, 'we want to move up'. With 6 classes, I really dislike the idea of allowing teams to move up in class. It is too easy to dodge people.

My speculation is this will be a nightmare of a can of worms the KHSAA will wish they did not open. They are going to have to pick and choose who they allow to move up and who they don't. It is impossible to do this in a reasonable, fair manner. They should have left well enough alone.
