Are all of the state championship games televised? If so, what station carries them?
-
Tim Patterson #52 LB Central
Yeah. I think this kid will be one of the top 250 players in the country next year. Channing Fugate is another dandy.
-
Jumpers played Ok tonight, Bobcats second TD came against mostly 2nd string varsity which at SHS means a lot of JVs on the field and their third TD came against entirely 2nd string D. That said Bobcats are very athletic and have some speed out there. Fugate was on target with probably 90% of his passes and most of them were caught, recievers did a nice job for them tonight especially #25. I don't see them having much trouble in the season. If these two teams meet again it will be a total shootout, as both teams were holding a lot back I am sure. Both teams had a big play called back tonight for holding. Cole looked, well like John Cole...he caught everything he got his hands on and scored on a nice throw and catch from around the 50.
After 3 qtrs game was called and JV's took the field alternating ten plays for each team. SHS scored 3 times all from big plays or set up by big plays and Bobcats JV was held scoreless but did move the ball on thier second posession.
Hey Bobcat fans...great facility really like the roof over the stands. Why were the kids running sprints after the varsity part of the scrimmage.
I think they make them run sprints because of the varsity only playing 3 qtrs. They run them a little to simulate playing an entire game to keep them in shape for the season.

Thanks Jumper.

Were is the grid played at Friday? I didn't get to make it out to LCC last week. I can't wait to see them in action.
-
have coming back next year and how many seniors will they have?
-
I watched Breathitt Co. play several games last season. I would think the RB position would be a weak point because they graduated a great RB.
With Chris Jackson and Channing Fugate coming back, we will be fine at running back.
-
Aaron Mullins for Breathitt County. 6'2" 225lbs. He has some of the best feet I have seen for an O line man. He's a little light in the britches but he makes up for it in fundamentals. He is pretty quick. He would probably make a great tight end in college.

Middlesboro ran 2 plays last Friday that for some reason we couldn't get a handle on. They ran a spread option type play and about a 8 yard hitch to #7 that was there all night long. The option was almost allways to the side #7 was on and he ran off the corner and the pitch man was left open for the first 7 or 8 yards before any contact was made. We did a good job with our assignments except for covering the pitch man better and the coverage on # 7 was way to soft. As soon as he made the catch he would curl back inside and make the first guy miss every time. Middlesboro has a great offence but are a little weak on defence. If their D can step up, they will be very hard to beat.
I've seen both Leslie and Middlesboro play and I would love to see Leslie beat them but if it's another shoot out like last week, I don't know if Leslie has enough of a passing game to hang with them. On the other hand, Leslies' strong running game will help them play keep away form the Jackets. Leslie neads to limit their mistakes with penalties and TO's. If they do that, I think they can beat Middlesboro.
It going to be a good game.
Good luck to both teams.

This is not true. If Leslie wins, it will be a 3 way tie and Breathitt will be the 1, Middleboro will be the 2, Leslie will be the 3, and Cawood the 4. Breathitt beats Middleboro on tiebreaker points, and the 'Boro beats Leslie on points.
If that's the case, Lets go Eagles!!! Middlesboro will be very hard to beat at home. They allways find a way to pull it out. Lets just concentrate on Knott and worry about everything else next week. GO BIG BLUE!

I have accepted defeat and nowhere did I say I didn't. I am a good sport, I was just stating the fact that Breathitt cannot make the small mistakes against a better team than LC. It doesn't matter who made the mistake players or coaches it will come back and bite you.
In case you didn't know couple of years ago the KHSAA changed the rule when the play clock starts, I thought the officials called an outstanding game, I don't know where they were from but they weren't local.
Who didn't start the clock when Breathitt had the ball? Officials or scorekeeper?
How young is LC team? I was impressed with alot of there players and their game plan. They changed a couple of things around from their previous games and took advantage of some things we were trying to do early in the game.
It was a good game overall but it was not a well called game. 3 of those delay of game penalties were bogus. It was probably the fastest played game I have ever watched. It went by fast.
It's was a good win for Breathitt against a quality team.

Who comes out on top in this grudge match?
-
Expect to do alot anyone no how many tackles he got:dancingpa
I think Aaron had about 4 tackles but he was very disruptive and in the backfield all night. He had a couple of Qb hurrys that resulted in an intentional grounding call and an interception for a touch down. He did pretty good for his first game on Defence.
-
Even thought Breathitt beat Fleming the way they did, Breathitt did not play their "A" game last night. On offense I liked what i saw from the blue/white. Defense needs to step up and play to their ability. All around a fun game to watch, and very interesting to see how the Bobcats came back out after halftime and shut Fleming down. Especially after Fleming scored right before the half.
I agree. I think they had 4 or 5 turn overs in the game but they still looked good in other areas for the first game. I think a lot of the credit needs to go to our O line. There not the biggest line we have had, but man they can block.
I think they will make some noise this year.
-
Breathitt will be a much improved team in 06. They didn't lose much and return alot of talent. People will be suprised by this group of young men this year. I'm not going to make ne predictions, but i do think they will have a great season
Breathitt only has 4 seniors returning on this years team per "The Jackson Times" and 3 of them are lineman. This team may be 1 year away from doing some great things.
I too think they will have a great season to build on. You cant' keep a team like Breathitt down long with the great coaches and feeder program we have. We have a pretty tough schedule ahead with teams like Western, Powell Valley, Harlan, and Middlesboro this year but it will get these young men ready for the play-offs. I'm looking forward to some great football.

Thanks guys. Fill us in on the teams that were at them and how everyone did.:thumb:

Anyone have any info on any of the summer passing camps? How did your teams do? I need a good football fix. :thumb:

Breathitt will stay in games by playing solid defense and wise clock management, especially until their injured QB comes back. I look for them to win ugly and lose ugly in the non-district portion of their schedule, and by the time district games role around, they should have found a "nitch" that works, if not, it will be a long season.
Holcomb and Chapman have put together a tough schedule that will help Breathitt come play off time. They are young but we have some good up and coming talent. As said before, defense will keep us in some games this year. Should be some fun in district 4 this year. Starting to look tighter at the top.

I agree. Josh has a chance to be very special. He is also just a great young man.
