I like some of these polls thus far.
a little different than mine but still very solid. :thumb:

Respectfully, there is no way the Trojans a Top 10 team. The win you don't have on there was a 48-47 win at Metcalfe County, which has no business being a one point win for any top 10 team.
I respect your opinion also. :thumb:

Covington Catholic is not the #3 team in the state, at least not yet.
Pendleton County & Holmes should both be above them.
Thats only my opinion, but they have relly impressed me, the also beat a pretty talented Ashland team by 40 or 50.
What would everyone elses top 10 look like?

I'm not positive i'm assuming around 23ppg and about 11rpg....I know they played 4 games and one of those games he had 32 points so he's up there stat wise. He's a good/experienced leader on that team. I don't follow Betsy Layne a whole lot but I believe they ar 1-3 thus far this season.
-
Brandon Kidd-Betsy Layne eaisly the top big man in the 15th IMO.
-
I agree with you oldschooler....I graduated from Male with Johnny, he's a great guy. I just didn't want to be pro-Male with this list, so I left him off. But I agree should be on the list.

I'm gonna try the unthinkable and give the top 25 from the 7th region. Now I was born in 1984 and can only remember people from about '91 on and what people I've heard about in the 80's...so here's my list. Don't get mad if I leave some one off.
Allan Houston (Ballard)
Jeff Lamb (Ballard-I believe)
Jason Osbourne (Male)
Dwayne Lightfoot (J-Town)
Chris Shumate (Male)
Jermaine Taylor (Eastern)
Rajon Rondo (Eastern)
Brandon Bender (Ballard)
Scott Padgett (St.X)
Larry O'Bannon (Male)
Carlos Hurt (Moore)...I hate putting that but he was good
Felton Spencer (Eastern)
Kenny Phelps (Male)
Justin Cornell (Fern Creek)
David Shee (Male/CAL)
Micheal Bush (Male)
Adam Chiles (Ballard)
Tony Kimbro (Seneca)
Brian Thornton (Manual)
Nick Nash (Trinity)
Travis Kiser (CAL)
Matt Endy (KCD)
Will Partin (Ballard)
Herb Crook (Eastern)
Mark Bell (Ballard)
OK that's all I could think of, wow that was hard. I'm sure i'm missing some one.
I like Johnny Mathis-Male, Some may not agree but I believe he is won of the top PG's to ever play in that region, he's a Creighten now I believe

Wanted to come up with a good thread, so I figured this would be an interesting one for everyone.
Top 25 players in your region since 1980?? Your opinion.
-
First, what makes him the best player in the region? B/C he is tall? B/C he can dunk? I really like Dan and would go to war for him, but he is not the best player in NKY. Actually, I will say he is not even the best big man in NKY. He is a forward trapped in a big body. Can he start on every team in NKY? Maybe. The coaches here have been watching him play Varsity since his freshman year...I believe. Yeah, there are probably some biased opinions on who is better than who, and who votes for their buddies players, but to be #4 is a fair vote. As far as him being the top D-1 prospect in the state? I just don't think that is so. He will have a great year. He will put up good numbers. He is not the best in Northern Kentucky. I don't know what your criteria is on voting him the best, but that is your opinion and it's cool.
I respect your opinion as well, and I guess thats just my opinion. :thumb:
-
Dan Penick was ranked the #4 best player by the coaches in the NKY pre-season top ten. How is that underrated? He also has signed to play at a D-1 school if I heard correctly. Underrated kids don't get that kind of attention. I am a big Penick fan and wish him a fantastic season, but there is no way he is underrated.
I think personally he is the Best player in NKY and the region, and by being rated #4 for a player of his caliber that is underrated, there is no way that there are three better players than Penick in the 9th region & in NKY. Do you honestley believe there are three players better than him(2 Juniors) in the region, he could be the top D-I prospect in Ky. So IMO he is underrated! :thumb:
Who would you have for your top 5-10 in this catogory??
-
I heard he doesn't even start this year?
I'm almost positive he starts, he was one of the key players on Paintsvilles team last season, and probabily thir second best player this season behind Slone. I f he dosen't then there is something more going on at Paintville that I'm un aware of.
-
Shane Grimm - Paintsville
Should be a top 3-5 player in the region and the second best player on the paintsville Squad behind All-State Soph. Landon Slone, IMO a top 10 Soph in kentucky and wasn't even rated as on of the top ten plaers in some of the pre-season polls...he was robbed eventhough everyone in the 15th knows his name/Game...he was rated #11 in the BGP ratings, best shooter in the region, will earn a scholarship after high school at a respected college program, Maybe not as big as Slone, but along wit Mr. Slone, a backcourt that will be great for Baskeball fans to enjoy in the Mountains..

1.Dan Penick-Ludlow
2.Jamarr White-Shelby Co.
3.Andrew Howard-O-Cath
4.Dale Easley-Jeffersontown
