  1. I had to chuckle, I read on another board, Chad Pennington. The man has built Sayre. He doesn't have to answer to anyone there. Why would he bother with a School Board, AD, and Principal. Chad’s a great man. Somerset is a Great job, But not a job for him. Oh by they way will the jumpers buy his house in Woodford Co. It’s about 2.5 Mil.

  2. Idk them. I know they get boat raced in middle school, I know that’s a good conference. RDC, Woodford, Elkhorn, the Scott Schools. Etc. I know they get smacked at the 5A level. Do they have problems retaining kids? Do they just move away?
I never thought I’d be talking about Grant Co Braves football.

Agreed...they were in district with Cov Cath, Dixie and Highlands during the prior alignment before dropping out of district play for the last two years of the alignment.

With the size of their school, it's tough for Grant County to catch a break with the relative lack of football culture in their area.

It always starts at the top and bottom. If you don’t have admin behind you and a youth feeder program, your toast.

Here's my take on 5A. There are 11 teams west of the Louisville area. I doubt they will force 1-2 of those teams to travel all the way to Louisville, so I think there will be a 5 team & a 6 team district in the west. Similarly, there are 6 schools in Northern KY that all very close to one another and not really close to anyone else. I think they create another 6 team district for those schools. In the Louisville area, I used I-65 as a dividing line because that's what they did last time.

District 1: Graves Co., Marshall Co., Madisonville N. Hopkins, Muhlenberg Co., Owensboro

District 2: Bowling Green, Greenwood, Warren Central, Grayson Co., Barren Co., Ohio Co.

District 3: Butler, Iroquois, Fairdale, Bullitt Central

District 4: Atheron, N. Bullit, Seneca, Moore

District 5: Woodford Co., Collins, S. Oldham, Anderson Co.

District 6: Highlands, Scott, Dixie Heights, Boone Co., Conner, Cooper

District 7: Madison Southern, Montgomery Co., East Jessamine, West Jessamine, Scott Co.

District 8: Southwestern, Pulaski Co., North Laurel, South Laurel, Harlan Co.

This is the best one I’ve seen. Pretty accurate via Geography.

  5. Looks like Anderson Co Moves up to 5A.
Looks like Grant Co goes down 4A

Looks like Scott High moves from 5A

With Great Crossing and Douglas moving to 6A

Whitley Co moves down to 4A

I can see some major shuffling on 5A district 6,7,8. Could see anderson joining  7. Scott high joining 6 and Madison Southern Moving to 8.

Coach Lucas left Somerset in a good spot and you rarely hear grumblings about administration and discontent from players and families from Somerset.

Very true. Good organized programs, with admin/coaches/players/parents. Talent comes and goes in schools this size. Programs that work together, have fewer problems.

  7. 90% of the time, if the administration doesn't care. It’s hard to get the rest of the school to care about football. But boy they loved running it up on people when the had a once in a generation talent.
If I were a prospective coach….I’d look at the middle school program. Then Run.
