  2. Don’t under value Woodford’s oline, they are a force to be reckoned with. They didn’t perform well against Cov Cath and I think they will rise to the challenge SW is gonna present to them. In my opinion, this game is gonna be decided in the trenches. I do know that Woodford doesn’t have any offensive or defensive lineman that goes both ways, which has played a huge role in their success this year. I would imagine SW doesn’t either. This game is gonna have a state championship atmosphere for sure. I don’t know who it was, but someone said 5A is down this year. If that’s the case, why are 4 of the teams ranked in the top 10 5A? I think it has the most competitive semi-final games across all 6 classes and I think it’s fair to say any of the 4 could win the state championship.

  3. ‘they will stifle WC’s run game and put more pressure on the QB than WC has seen this year.’’ Woodford has weapons upon weapons, with weapons waiting in the shadows. Some might argue that their greatest strength is their offensive line, though. The best defense they’ve seen this year by far is the fast, hard hitting Flyers of Franklin County. I hope South Warren’s defense is what you say it is, I know Woodford will embrace the challenge. I hope South Warren brings a bunch as it’s an easy drive up 65 and across the BG parkway. It should be a packed house as it could easily be a state championship game.

I think this is going to be a wakeup call for one of these teams. Neither WC or SW have really faced anyone that has challenged them much (besides Hendersonville, TN). I really don't know which team is going to come out on top. I do know that South Warren is going to bring a defense that WC has never seen. Despite being very undersized (only 2 players on SW's defense are 6' or over), they will stifle WC's run game and put more pressure on the QB than WC has seen this year. The real key to WC's success will be their passing game. Can their O-line hold off the Spartan blitz? South is not that great in pass coverage. WC could put up big numbers in the air. For SW, they have to pass protect. If Veltcamp has time, watch out. Few QBs in the state can make the passes that he does.

If South comes to the game focused, they can beat anyone in the state. If they aren't in the right state of mind, WC will end their season and probably win in the championship.

I was going to take the high road and congratulate the bees on a dominate game. But…

90 sec to go, up 14, with the ball, and they throw the ball to the endzone? Wow.

I had respect for them till that. Now I’m glad CCH lowers their avg score per game.

Might have been different if the score was 14-14 half but it wasn’t going to happen tonight  for the colonels

Will be interesting to see how this plays out in the future if they play each other again.

I’m now rooting for whomever plays Woodford county.   Busch League.

So you’re mad they scored to put the game away? lol

Woodford's got a strong nucleus to work with, offensively. Patterson throws a good ball and you have to respect his legs. They've got people that can run it, people that catch it, and some that do both well. It's a diverse attack that CovCath will have to contend with. Conversely, the Jackets will have to contend with an excellent CovCath defense, easily one of the best they've seen this year.

    You’re spot on!

So @Bucketgetter, I see in the poll that you voted for Woodford County. Do you actually think they'll win, or is that pure, unadulterated schadenfreude?

Woodford is a good football team. Most of their seniors were freshman starters on the team that Cov Cath demolished a few years ago in the first round of the playoffs. I’m sure they remember that. They are balanced on offense and very confident. The program has been building at the youth level solidly for 10 years now and the program at all 3 levels; youth, MS, and high school is SOLID. It will be a good football game, but I think Woodford wins by two td’s.
