    Looks like an awesome facility.

Where is it in relation to the school?

It is at the same location as the current field. It is being reconfigured to make the track a full 8 lanes and to be able to have Lacrosse. It is located at Tower Park on the South end of Fort Thomas. It is about 2 miles from the High School.

DePaul, Mississippi State, Central Arkansas, Missouri, and Eastern Kentucky all had extended offers to Caden, at least at one point.

I Googled the Overtime Elite League when I saw Caden's tweet yesterday. It's a developmental youth league for kids age 16-20, and it just wrapped up its third year in existence. There were like 6 or 8 teams in the league, and I believe it said the players are all paid to play. It looked like OTE has produced a few NBA draftees, about a half-dozen more who signed in the NBA as unrestricted free agents, another handful who've signed into the NBA G-League, and and one or two have gone on to D1 colleges. I'm not sure how players can advance from the OTE League to play in the NCAA after playing in a paid league, though...maybe you can wave the salary if you're hoping to go the college route?

Was interested on the NCAA eligibility as well. Saw this on their website:

OTE also has a scholarship program that allows certain prospects an alternate route within the league to maintain college eligibility, receiving up to $100,000 to put toward tuition should they change their mind and want to play in the NCAA.

Rob Dillingham played in the league prior to UK.

I don't see any big issues with it.  But it does seem odd to me.

When the Birds and Raiders 1st scheduled this scrimmage in 2022 I thought it was odd as well. This will be the 3rd time they have done this and it actually works out well.

As mentioned earlier, the 2 coaches have a good history. This isn't setup fully as a real game/scrimmage. They usually start off with Oline vs. Dline work, situational and special teams. They usually do a quarter or 2 of full go but QBs can't run or be touched. Both teams run pretty vanilla stuff but it allows them to get specific work in different areas. I feel like both teams benefit from it.

Zekl picks up a second win tonight in 6 innings.

Reardon went 3 for 4 and Dieruf 2 for 3.

Colonels travel to Ft Thomas for a rematch against the Birds tomorrow night.

According to the KHSAA website, Boone beat CCH 10-0 in 6 innings. Someone transposed the scores it looks like.

All 3 of those guys mentioned above are dudes. Enjoy watching the play.

Just my opinion after watching some clips; I think he throws the ball really well and would give us the best chance to win. I don’t know what happened at Elder, but they must have had one of the best freshman QB rooms in the country if he wasn’t starting. You also lose a lot in the secondary going from Cash, who’s the best player on defense (Kruer is also right there), to the 3rd safety.

In reference to an offer see below. Maybe it’s fake (I’m sure non-commitable), but there is no incentive for a private QB coach to lie about something like this when he just coached up a top 5 overall recruit (Allar).

Having lots of options is a good problem to have. I would not say this X post is fake just that none of the national recruiting sites (Rivals, 247, On3, ESPN etc. ) have it listed. UK has offered 2 QBs in the class of 2027 so it wouldn't be crazy. To your point, almost all offers made to Freshman are Non-Committable as they want to see how they progress!

My guess is Emmett Queen starts at QB and Harney is the backup while also coming back at safety and starting at slot receiver. Hopefully, Cash/family does not look elsewhere if he's not the guy at QB; I think he's a 1st team all nky safety the next two years and all the targets Braylon Miller got in the slot this year will now go to him.

I thought I saw Queen got a UK offer last year and I'm not sure he's there yet. However, if he keeps developing I think in 18 months he will be a total stud and might be at that level.

It would surprise me if Queen started. He was 2nd or 3rd string for the Elder Frosh team last season. He does not have any offers as of now. I agree with JOAT on Clukey. I do think O Line is his more natural position but definitely thought he was being considered as a TE. Looks to be a deep position for the Colonels.

Perhaps they have a signed LOI in hand from Harbaugh post National Championship game. Just about anything short of that, I hope they know what they are doing.

I believe there is a coach in Park Hills that has a home in Cold Spring and a child at Brossart. Free tuition 🤣

Where on earth is Highland's strength of schedule number coming from? I mean, they played Lex Cath and Cov Cath and...

4 teams on Highlands regular season schedule are in the final 4 of their respective classes. Cov Cath, Raceland, Cooper and Lex Cath. They also played Ryle that advanced to round 3. The teams on their regular season schedule have won 15 playoff games.

Highlands will score at will vs North. Does north still run the hey diddle diddle run it up the middle O?

I have only seen a small amount of their offense but they seem to run a spread formation but do run it up the middle a lot. They average around 12 pass attempts per game and 30 rush attempts per game. They do have the second leading rusher in 5A from a yardage perspective.

Is this for real or just a joke? I laughed at first. Is it stealing signs if you just can remember or write down the signals.

It is true. Call it whatever you want but Dixie's staff was calling out the plays during the first Varsity meeting and the JV game. Having the signals didn't seem to matter much in the first game. But for that reason, HHS decided to huddle before each play. Didn't slow them down much at all. Dixie also sent film last week with plays removed from both games for some reason which seemed odd.

Do you have a list of the top five or ten Northern Kentucky passers?

Here are the top passing teams in NKY with their leading passers:

    1) Beechwood - 3152 yards 39 TDs - Hayden = 3077 yards 38 TDs

    2) Ryle - 3048 yards 27 TDs - Verax = 2808 yards 24 TDs

    3) Highlands - 2852 yards 45 TDs - Benke = 1578 yards 24 TDs - Litmer = 1099 yards 20 TDs

    4) Cooper - 2712 yards 39 TDs - O'Hara = 2708 yards 39 TDs

    5) SK - 2316 yards 18 TDs - Lee = 2245 yards 17 TDs

    6) Cov Cath - 2180 yards 26 TDs - Pitzer = 2141 yards 26 TDs

    7) Dixie - 1755 yards 21 TDs - Gregg = 1693 yards 21 TDs

    Top 3 players (Yardage) = 1) Hayden 2) Verax 3) O'Hara

If I missed a team, my apologies!

This will be a fantastic high school game. Great athletes. Contrast in styles. As to the wide receivers battle, it is closer than people think. Cooper's duo of Johnson and Alexander are big, fast athletes that are going D1. Statistically, Johnson is arguably the top wide receiver in the state. I know that is heresy to those who have seen Quisenberry, but I am just looking at the stats and Johnson is the best of the four. Then if you look at 247sports, Alexander is a more highly rated recruit than Quisenberry (I think that surprises some readers). Then you have Cooper QB Cam O'Hara, a junior with a D1 scholarship already in hand. Cooper is talented, not doubt about that and on a talent level discussion, worthy of comparing to Boyle County at those three position. Not saying Cooper is better but there are arguments to be made in Cooper's favor at QB and WR.

All that said, Cooper's passing game with the same crew was held in check last year by Scott County. And this year, Dixie Heights controlled Cooper's talented passers. Which surprises me a little because of the sell out style of defense Dixie plays. I would think O'Hara, Johnson and Alexander would light that defense up. Beechwood's passing game went for almost 500 yards against Dixie. But Cooper ran the ball effectively on Dixie so that may have held down their stats. Flip side, Cooper went for 555 yards passing against #1 Highlands.

The top tier, Boyle County level passing attack is there. So what can Cooper's talented passing game do against Scott County? If I am Scott County, I grind it out, control clock, reduce number of possessions and make it come down to which defense can get the extra stop or two to win the game.

I believe O’Hara is a sophomore and Ryle also shut them down pretty well. I also don’t think throwing it 50 plus times and abandoning the run will work in this game like the HHS game. Who can prepare and adjust best in a week and make in game adjustments will be key. I feel This is a 1 score game either way.

  13. Most intriguing game of round 2 for me. Two very different styles of play. In my opinion, even though Cooper is effective throwing the ball, they need to establish the run game a little bit. They will also need to efficient and score on most drives as they won’t get as many possessions as usual. I felt Lex Cath established the run vs. Scott Co. and it really helped them in that win. Scott co. Is tough to prepare for in a week but Cooper did see them last season. Should be a good game.
