OCath bounces back from last week’s loss in a big way. QB Hartz was 17/21 for 280 and 4 tds. Probably 5 of the 7 incompletions were flat out drops, but the Aces seemed to have gotten back on track before district play starts.
-
Devils dominated the game in the trenches. Hartz has no time and Wimsatt had all day. Aces had empty red zone trips in the first half that they couldn’t recover from. Ohs defense was very impressive.

Drew Hartz for OCath was 29-42 for 262yds, 3TDs, and 0 ints. Hagan Edge accounted for all 5 of Catholic's touchdowns, 3 receiving, 1 rushing, and 1 76yd pick 6.

With the key injuries to the devils, I think OCath has a good shot at winning this game. Its a close call on this one and I think a turnover here or there in the second half may make the difference. I give the edge to the senior QB Hartz.

OCath was only up 14-12 in the 3rd quarter but finished strong in crunch time. Drew Hartz came back to earth stats-wise due to lots of drops, but Hagan Edge's 5 TDs and Dre Thruston's big play ability helped OC escape a strong defensive effort by DC. By the way, DC's new field is sweet looking.

I don't see Catholic blowing a big lead like they did last year. 56-14

I too thought BG was offensively lacking in the game, and since Tisdale was not playing offense, why not get Dingle the ball more? He carried kids down the field when he did have the ball. FR was a solid squad imo...

OCath looked susceptible to the run in their scrimmage, so Q could have a big night, but I agree with Swami, Catholic and Hartz should have the better overall talent to pull this one out.
-
I look for Hartz from OCath to have a huge year. He has better speed and athletes than in the last two years and it looks he's put on 20 more pounds. Unfortunately the only way he get in the Mr. F discussion is if they get to the 2A title game or some big time offers start coming in.

Can't wait to have little black rubber pellets all over my house!!

Congratulations to Owensboro Catholic on winning the small school division of the McCracken county 7v7 tournament. Looks like a 16 team draw, QB Drew Hartz and company must have got it done last night. Twitter

Good list DMC. It's good for the west KY side to have top level QBs in Hartz and Stinson.

I would love to see Allen and OCath's Hartz go at it in a head to head matchup. That would be fun...kindof an east vs west in KY QBs.
