If you played semi pro for 17 years at LB you might not be able to talk lol. Wow. That's really loving the game.

He wanted to play a few more years but his wife gave him a HELL NO TO THAT!!!!
He's 70 years old and mean and lean. He couldn't stand not being on the playing field, so now he's on the chain gang. Yes, he loves football.!!

Which is awesome that they were such great players and accomplished so much. That is definitely something to be proud of. Much like I’m sure you would have taken issue and said something if some random person tried to put them down and suggest they weren’t as good as said, and say things how did he get an offer from Army? Doesn’t seem like he is that good. He probably got ran over by guys not getting as many looks.

Would seem pretty ridiculous for someone to go out of there way to say things like that, right? Which is what you have done a few times now randomly in prediction threads and in this thread. Hence why you have gotten the reactions that you have.

These were two very good teams with lots of good players on both sides, and was a great game.

If you don't understand the game, maybe just ask somebody next to you to help explain it.

My immediate family has 5 state title rings, and 3 all state line backer and a MVP award from the title game. Arguably, one   of them was voted by the fans and coaches to be one of the best linebackers to ever come out of Highlands, Fort Thomas Living magazine. One got a D1 OFFER from Army. The same one was a starter as a Soph at LB on the 2009 team that was ranked number 3 in the nation. that's the same team that beat top 10 ranked Cincy X.

One of them went on to play 17 years semi pro at LB.

I got 4 guys I can ask and they are next to me, and growing up they explained it very well. These are my brothers.

If you were trying to be cute it back fired.

Yeah, he probably didn’t run over any of the D1 guys on his way to the end zone. He did have a good game though and is a very good high school player that runs very hard.

This is now the second time you have made some kind of cracks at Cooper’s players that do have D1 offers. Which is very bizarre to me, considering they truly do have those offers. So not sure why you seem to go out of your way to make comments like this. First in the prediction thread and now this.

One of the D1 guys Alexander scored two touchdowns with multiple Highlands players bouncing off of him as he scored the second touchdown, and multiple stops on defense. The other D1 guy Johnson, Highlands bracketed all game with someone underneath him and over top of him  and sometimes 3 guys on him to try to prevent him from having 266 yards receiving like he did in the first game when they tried to single cover him. Then the other D1 guy O’Hara threw two touchdowns, scrambled away from multiple pressures from the D line while Highlands played coverage with 7 or 8 guys dropping to try to take away from the D1 receivers. So obviously Highlands thought very highly of those guys, since their game plan was all about them. Especially after being torched by all three in the first game. Which credit to Highland’s defense because they played a great game and made good adjustments in this one just like Cooper’s defense did in regards to slowing down the Highlands run game in this one.

You didn't mention the dropped pass in the end zone. You didn't mention the interception by the Birds either. I guess you don't remember them. 😎 Now don't get all bent out of shape, I'm just messing with you.

I'll just end it by saying it was one of the best games I've seen and the Birds will see you next year. No hard feelings on this end.

Cooper has more future Division 1 football players than anyone in Northern Kentucky. Tough team for anyone to beat. Good luck to the Jags in Lexington.

I watched the game and didn't see anyone on the field look that much better than anyone else on the field.

    Congrats to Cooper!

The smallest guy on the field made some of biggest plays . That would be number 3 for Highlands, probably ran over some of D1's you are talking about on the way to the end zone.

This is honestly one game where nothing would surprise me.  Can Cooper stop the Birds run game?  Will Highlands realize that Cooper has some D1 WR's that need to be doubled and not left on an  like they did the first game? No islands in the

I'll take the Birds 40-25.  Their run game is just a freight train right now.  Can it be rainy and windy Friday night?

D1?  How many offers do they have and who from.  Are YOU qualified to determine who is and isn't. Has any college coaches visited these players? From over the years I heard that it's not a D1 offer unless you you sign on the dotted line. I think they don't signing the line until Feb..

Hope all these players get what they are hoping for, and finish the season injury free.

  7. Thanks for posting the RPI. It's like every thing else in my life. I don't know anything about it, but it can't be too bad with Highlands number one. ☺️  Go Birds!!!

I see some familiar faces on the chain gang at HHS home games. Some are believed to be former Highlands football players. If I'm right they all played the same position. Glad to see immediate family members still supporting the program. If I'm not mistaken they have more more rings than most jewelry stores. (JK).

All-time home records in the series

    Highlands: 30-13

    Covington Catholic: 15-17

CovCath has almost as many wins at David Cecil as they do at home.

Highlands has run off a lot of home wins during periods when CovCath was either "down"* or not yet the program we know them as today**.

It seems when both are good, it's a virtual toss-up no matter where it's played. From the late 80s, when Lynn Ray really got things cooking in Park Hills, to John Rodenberg's championship in '06, CovCath was 9-7 in Fort Thomas. Highlands was 9-5 at CovCath during that same time frame.

    * The Bluebirds won 10 in a row from 2007-2016.

** Highlands won 13 straight at home from 1968-1986.

    Thanks DMC.
