If Ryle doesn’t win this game it will be a long season.
-
Called this one... Still wondering why anyone thought Ryle is so improved over last year and had a chance in this one? They still have a lot of work to do to compete with any of the top teams (in any class).
No one thought they had a chance. Look at the poll.

Barn Burner!

You think Steven Lickert laughed all the way home back to NCC? Statement win was for his staff for sure.
Did he see the CC pipeline a few years back and was running from it?
-
Most of these posts say Ryle looked decent and CovCath did not. Wasn’t the score 37-0? What am I missing?
Cov Cath is elite and this was a “given” win. Ryle is improved from last year and didn’t get a running clock put up in the 1st quarter. Both teams will learn from the film and move forward.

Boone down this year?
-
Don't let the score fool you, game was closer than indicated. Both teams had tons of turnovers and highlands took advantage of those. For the most part Scott was way better then most thought. Highlands settled down and took over 2nd half.
Talent equal? Or Highlands with superior coaching?

SK is saving all 2 way defensive players until districts.
-
Their last down season was 95. Before that it was 63. I'd say they're allowed more than a decade.
Trinity not winning the state title is a down season IMO.
-
Uh oh, 6A.
Trinity is allowed one “down” season per decade. That’s it!
-
Kentucky 6A is on notice!
Kentucky 6A is game over.

Final over past two seasons Douglass has outscored Station 89-0.
Ouch.

I’ll take some crow with a side of crow. Knew Cov would win but thought the Raiders would put a score or two on the board.
-
Halftime.
Trinity 34
Carmel (IN) 0
Dominant performance. Do they have running clocks in Indiana?
-
No running clock in first half a positive for the Raiders?
-
Wide open pass to Michael Mayer for a 76 yard touchdown.
Maybe Mayer wasn’t in the scouting report?
-
Cov Cath is an obvious favorite however I do not think this will be a blowout. Ryle has a few potent offensive weapons and an all around better team than last year.
-
Male has had a tougher road to the championship. Are they worn down?
-
Good point on the Beechwood rushing yardage being an indicator. However, Simon Kenton was allowing around 100 rushing yards a game on the season so their run defense was good this year. They were #11 in 6A in rushing yards allowed.
SK also played a bunch of subpar competition. Par for the course.

Enough to compete with the Colonels and enough to possibly win 1 or 2 if these exact teams played 10 times.
Cov Cath has way more talent all around. Both teams healthy Cov Cath wins 10 of 10 with around similar scores.

I don’t know about this is the best shot for the next 5 years. Next year they’ll still be good yeah. But if that’s the way you think you don’t know what you have. A Casey McGuiness only comes around once a generation, a Michael Mayer only comes around once in 100 years, Coldiron is a D1 guy. Great Oline that has started together for years. Cov Cath has all this stuff overlapping. That is rare. Even if young talent is coming up that is supposed to be good the chances of having a handful of top tier D1 Guys is super rare.
Once in generation? Is this a Shaun Alexander thread?
-
Some questionable play calling by the Birds, but in the end it wasn't going to matter. CovCath was the better team.
This is a fact.

The game is going about as expected. Never really in doubt for Scott County.
SK defense has not been good all year. Did not expect their offense to score this much however.

Is this game at Conner Mud Pit?

Ouch. That’s hurts to read out loud.
