  1. Congrats to Jessica Walsh -- solo HR in the 1st inning, an RBI producing double, and pitched the entire game. The Lady Camels got back on the winning ways with a defeat of the Lady Pioneers in Alexandria tonight. The Camels travel to Maysville tomorrow to take on Mason County.

If the SK girls are able to stay together for the next few years, they will be very good. They have a very solid core of players in which to build a contending team around. Best of luck the rest of the season.

It amazes me that a school that large doesn't have a single Senior softball player on the roster. I know this topic has been discussed in previous posts, but I'm still shocked.

  2. Olivia Jackson was bringing, both in the circle and at the plate, in the frigid cold tundra of Florence tonight. It was a very good game until the bottom of the 3rd inning when the wheels fell off for the Lady Camels.

Congrats to Abby Joering -- she smoked a Jackson fastball over the left field fence. I would love to see a race around the bases between McKinlee Miller & Shelby Wright.

  3. Back and forth battle between the Lady Camels and the Lady Bearcats. The Camels offense was paced again by a bases clearing double (should have been a triple) by McKinlee Miller and a 2 run double by Becca Mitchell in the top of the 6th innning to extend the lead for the CCHS. The Bearcats had a blast to dead center by Addisyn Michael.

  4. Final from Claryville. The Cru plated 1 unearned run in the top of the 1st to take the early lead, but the Lady Camels scored in almost every inning to win running away. The major offensive blow came with the swing of McKinlee Miller's bases loaded triple. The Lady Camels are to play at Walton Verona tomorrow (weather permitted).

  5. The Lady Camels finally opened up the season with a hard fought victory over the Lady Blue Devils of Reading HS. The Camels opened up the first innings with a 2 run HR from Becca Mitchell with McKinlee Miller on base. Abby Joering was the offensive leader with 2 Doubles and multiple RBIs. 8th grader, Bella Bastin opened the season in LF and got her 1st Varsity hit.

Reading fought back in the bottom of the 7th with 3 runs and another HR from #23 (the 3B) but a very good running catch that lead to a double play by Miller put out the late game heroics.

The Lady Camels were helped out by several throwing errors by Reading. Overall, it was a good team effort with everyone contributing at the plate, in the field, or both. Hopefully the weather allows us to play late this week vs Anderson (3/28) & West Clermont (3/29).

  6. Don't think I can root for a team that presses when they are up by 38( and the other team has only scored 4) in the second quarter -just no need for this LACK OF SPORTSMANSHIP !!!! I will find a new team to get behind for the rest of this season and support at B B & T arena next week

IT looks like you won't anyone to cheer for at the state tournament with the following scores:

    Mercer County 96 Burgin 10

    Sacred Heart 78 Seneca 19

    Sacred Heart 95 Atherton 21

    Murray 62 Mayfield 19

    Murray 75 St. Mary 20

Scott Co 97 Fredrick Douglas 36

Every team has blown out victories. Did you complain about these scores also?
