Muskie is a typical homer. He wants everyone to play Cov Cath's schedule regardless if it benefits the team or even if that team has the ability to get a schedule like theirs. It wouldn't benefit Beechwood to play Moeller, LaSalle, or Lexington Catholic at the beginning of the season. Beechwood wasn't nor have they ever been invited to play in the KOB.

 

I'd argue that the tournament their in at Lexington Christian has a decent field and is at the level Beechwood should play against. Muskie don't judge a team's schedule based on your team's schedule. Different agendas. Also, I would love to see Cov Cath schedule more Kentucky teams rather than the GMC schools every year. Why not play St. Xavier or Trinity instead?

Curious what GMC Schools Cov Cath plays ? All I said was Beechwood would win 18 games because they have a weak schedule. Not sure you can argue that point.

You made the claim that Beechwood is not playing anyone that is out of their district yet those four schools are indeed out of their district.

How do the enrollment #'s at Covcath compare to St. X and Trinity? Suspect it is pretty substantial.

The thing I am hearing in this thread and from elsewhere, the officials' report is a huge factor in whether a player has a chance at getting a suspension lifted. There are players who did much more serious acts than the Beechwood player who got their suspension lifted. If the Beechwood player stays suspended, the officials' report of the incident will be the reason why, more than what the Beechwood player did.

They are not very good. Cooper played bad and still won by 25. Looking at their schedule Beechwood wins 18 games or so because their schedule is terrible. They play no one out of district !

It will take them a while to get going, their best player Junior 6'4 PF Ben Sisson is recovering from a football injury and probably wont be back until January last I heard. I am hearing the Birds will be playing fast and will put up a lot of shots.

That Conner game at TF is interesting, can Conner stop the explosive and best middle school guard Jake Meyer from TF. He is a load to stop...

Camp Ernst at Woodland will provide some fireworks as the 2 teams don't like each other very well...

Not sure. I don’t think it would matter who the coach is at Kentucky. Except for just a few years the results have been mediocre for the past 60 years.

Has Stoops peaked as a head coach? If a better head coach is available should UK pursue them? Or do UK fans say "he got us to a bowl so..."?

Just to make a case for Jake (and it may be a weak one). Anyone who can shoot like he can should get decent minutes for any team in America.

He just hit 8 of 11 from behind the line against Villanova, Purdue, and Southern Methodist.

That works for me. UK does not seem to have a pure three pint shooter on floor. With the athletes UK has just think of the looks he would get at UK. He’s better than Richie Farmer that’s for sure.

Between Jordan Jones actions on the field this year and Nick Haynes comments last night online UK fans should be glad this season is almost over.

For all of the UK football fans who have hung their hat on 7 victories this year as evidence that UK is a lot better this game showed the fallacy in that. They played 3 strong teams this year and were outscored 131-37.

They played in a year where the SEC East was dreadful. They were lucky that EKU fumbled in the red zone or that would have been an L.

The offense was one-dimensional. No chance to win a game where passing was required. If the opponent shut down Snell the game was over if the team was good.

So did UK really get any better?

Nice call re. Beechwood's potential to make Regionals. Who wants to predict the 9th Region Tournament teams? I would go with:

CCH & Beechwood

Dixie and Lloyd

Cooper and Boone

Cov Cath and Holmes makes regionl. Holmes has better players and coach.

Tops to me is the top. Def top 3-4 so I clearly misunderstood your statement. Also Burries isn’t top 2-3 when you have two high major players at Cov Cath and mid major at Cooper. Love his game and ability. However just can not put him over those three in my opinion.
