Agree camelman ... you won't hear anything else unless they draw Mason in baseball this spring ... essentially why it all started ...
Correct? Because you'd have an obvious weaker opponent (St.Pat/Augusta)advancing to the Regional while Mason/Bracken watched the running clock from the stands while possibly making a run.

Or maybe it is a naive poster? And every piece of recruiting mail to them means "interest". Probably something that happens at Scott Co.,Ballard or other big schools all the time. But when you get it at Bracken Co. it's "interest"
I assure you that he has a stack pile of that "naive" mail that no one has mentioned. By now in the recruiting process I'm positive the family knows what is legit or not.

Mike Smith played varsity at Sayre from 7th grade until his Sophomore year then finished his last two years at Dunbar.
I've watched him drop 30+ in a varsity game as an 8th grader. That man could play

I would think he would hold out for a scholarship at another school?
I'm sure that's his plan or the full ride offer he already has at the University of Pikeville. Just stating that it's an option.

Walter and Dontaie Allen from PC were both in attendance at NKU's game on Saturday.
Austin Crawford was invited to a game last week. Was offered a preferred walk-on spot for next year's squad. I know they are out of scholarships for the 2017 class.
-
Looked like PC used Allen as a decoy for most of the game.
What kind of decoy takes 27 shot attempts?

This is probably the best game I have been to this year. I think this was the biggest crowd at a regular season home game since Augusta/Bracken in 2014 when Brent Bach hit the game winner.
Here's the scores from past Pendleton/Bracken games while Austin Crawford has been playing:
2012-2013
Bracken 77 Pendleton 71
2013-2014
Bracken 76 Pendleton 74
2014-2015
Bracken 71 Pendleton 70
Pendleton 65 Bracken 46
2015-2016
Bracken 75 Pendleton 55
Bracken 63 Pendleton 61
2016-2017
Bracken 82 Pendleton County 74
Pendleton County, however, still leads the all-time series 53-89
A lot of close game starting to make for a good old fashioned healthy rivalry.

Bracken played well as a team tonight! Crawford hit some big shots and took over the 4th. He's the Wildcat Killer.

Well said, and from a fan that watches closely I can unequivocably say that Brent made every teammate on those Augusta teams better. His leadership in the gym for hours before, after and during practice helped those players achieve what they were capable. Routine gym time led by Brent usually started at 6:00 a.m. and often times went well after dark with a 12 month total commitment to excellence. In game Brent was committed to one outcome...Winning and that is the distinguishing factor that made the Panthers (a school of less than 50 boys) a threat to every team they played. If him deferring to only scoring 6 pts that produced a victory, that was perfect. If he needed to score 48 to upset Mason Co., then that is what Hinson ordered and he would deliver. His senior year 1.38 scoring efficiency is proof positive he wasn't about anything but Team results. Hinson did not make Bach, but his role as Coach contributed greatly to molding the Panthers Team into a winning Team. Hinson and Bach were a perfect match as player and coach. Sure hope the Hinson bashing dies with the void of credability it deserves.
You've all must have missed the point.. it's way over your heads it seems like. I'm not questioning Bach's abilities one bit. But no player will win alone. Hence me mentioning the 6 point performance to win a District Championship. Which believe me he didn't contribute. So YES, thank Hinson for getting the surrounding cast there for Brent's success
-
Oh, the old "Tubby won with Pitino's players."
While they were good, calling them a Ferrari is a little over the top. Maybe a nice sedan.
Why won't anyone answer my question?? Everyone seems to forget the District Championship Bach won while only scoring 6 points.. would Crawford win with this team only scoring 6 points?? I think we all know the answer to that one
-
I believe what he said was that Augusta won because Coach Hinson was there and Brent owes his success to Coach Hinson, period. I simply pointed out that his or her statement is only partially true and to make such a statement lacks an understanding of what it takes to have program success. All of the contributors I mentioned above have a healthy, mutual respect for each others contributions and roles in Augusta's success. My point is where that is absent:............so is success.
No sir, thank him for getting those other players to surround Brent. Without them, like I stated above they'd be short a few trophies.

Would Crawford win a District Championship only scoring 6 points?? I'll be interested in seeing the answers on that

I'm still waiting for your reasoning of why Hinson has had no success at bracken as of yet ?
And I'll go as far as Bach should send him a thank you as well.
-

I could have won with the big 3 Jason brought into Augusta (so thank him for that). Just like Brian Kirk stepped in and did. Give me the keys to the Ferrari and I'll drive it. Simple as that.

In another perspective, the 2 schools that continue to vote to draw got their justice today. The best teams belong in the Region for a better tournament!
-
I'm absolutely not. And yes you're right about strength of schedule.
Was just wonderful what you thought the final score would be.
Bracken County- 68 Augusta- 52

"I'm not going to blame officialls, but I'm going to blame officials..."
No one wants to take responsibility for a loss anymore, so much easier to pass blame.
Said from an official..
-
I'm not one to ever blame officiating but this one was a sight. For example, Crawford blatantly tripped (Grayson Allen'd) by a Scott player and the official didn't call anything. Once the crowd got into it he had a 1 on 1 conversation with the player and yet to call anything. It was a sight.
-
The Polar Bears are undefeated at the Igloo. 2-0. They haven't played at home since Dec.9th.
-
Crawford hit some big contested shots and Bracken hit 3's.
He shot 13/16 (81.2%) from the field. He's starting to utilize his midrange game.
If Bracken's defense tightens up they are a different team.
