I really liked that Turner kid from Danville! She's a special talent just not on a very good team.

LCA and Danville will both be good next year. LCA will be dangerous on offense next year, and Danville loses one player on Defense next year. Flat out war next year with LCA and Danville!

When they can get hot as a team like that they will beat anyone in the region.

And the region will be played at there house this year!

Those bloodlines will work, too. Roni was a man! What was Roni's brother that was Franklin's QB...ended up going to WKU and having a great career...can't remember his name?

I have no idea. Roni's son Anthony Robinson played at Frankfort last year, and now playing at WKU.

His daddy isn't James Robinson by chance is it? Maybe a relative?

David Walker is pretty dang good himself! Wright and Walker will be worth the price of admission. Only problem I see with that is who will cover Vancleave? Guarantee nobody on CAL can run with that kid including Wright.

One last thing on this post, if theirs a better football player in Northern Kentucky than Barnes please let me know. That kid is a straight BEAST!!!!

What games will be close?

I went to this game, and it was a war. I don't understand why they just didn't give the ball to #21 he almost beat Danville by himself. They couldn't tackle that kid all night, but they seemed to give the ball to #3 a lot more.

I also have no dog in this fight, but I'm sure Holy Cross's coaches will make sure they know where Vancleave is at every play Friday night! Their game plan will probably be stopping Vancleave, like I'm sure Danville's will be stopping those big backs, with that being said PLEASE dont kick the ball anywhere near Vancleave lol

Congrats to Danville, they played well in the second half, and we couldn't seem to get nothing going. I hope that #7 for Danville is a senior, he can FLY! WOW..great season for my LCA boys we will be back next year! Good luck to Danville.

I don't think this game will be close as the first time. I think LCA wins by 3tds.

These two teams have a history and have already proven to be pretty evenly matched.

 

DeSales has history on their side and you have to wonder if the string of playoff wins in this matchup is becoming a mental roadblock for the Centurions. With that said, Milton Wright is the X-Factor. This kid is going to be a Blue Chip prospect and may be the best all-around athlete in Class 2A as a Sophomore. In year's past I felt like DeSales had a few more playmakers than CAL and that was the difference in the playoff wins, for once I feel CAL may have the edge in the "Jims and Joes" department.

 

 

 

 

As for LCA I have plenty of love for them. I think, and a lot of the statewide polls have reflected, that people kind of viewed them as a paper tiger all season feasting on lower class teams and that Danville had a significant edge on them. They proved that not to be the case when they beat the Ads. Even after that game a lot of folks still chalked that game up to a "fluke" and I dont think that is the case at all. I think LCA has dramatically closed the gap on Danville and are every bit as good as the Ads.

 

With that said, I feel like Danville has three things going for them that will give them the slightest of edges in my mind in another barn burner. For starters I think they may have overlooked LCA the first time and came out a bit flat footed not expecting LCA to be as good as they were. That element of surprise is gone. Secondly, Danville has to feel they have unfinished business in the Semi's after winning everything but the scoreboard against NewCath last year. Finally I just like Zach Dampier as a Senior leader.

 

With all that said, Class 2A better watch out in 2017 for LCA regardless of this year's outcome. The Eagles are going to be very strong

I think Danville returns everybody next year but Dampier, which is their biggest loss. LCA and Danville will have good games this year (regional championship) and next year 2x. I feel like LCA will win at home and will play NCC on the day after Thanksgiving.

Great article! I believe LCA will win the East because they have so many weapons on offense. The champion will come out of the West because all the top teams in the West has great defenses. LCA and Danville can score but I don't think they have a good enough defense to match up against the top schools in the West.

Wheatley Ran for over 250. He couldn't be stopped! Our receivers we open all night. LCA will represent the East this year like I been telling people all year long. We got too many weapons on offense!
