  1. Cols,

I think you have some fair points here. They are on the radar and maybe they should in ahead of Ohio County. I've said many times I like what Coach Boston is doing in Henderson. Let's look at your body of work:

    1. Get ripped and shutout by Reitz that many schools will get beat by.

    2. Beat an Evansvile North squad that by other Henderson fans admission is not that good.

    3. Stay with a Christian County team that was #1, but upon further review is not really playing #1 football. Does it say more about them or more about you? I don't know.

So Henderson is 1 and 2 and played 2 tough games and lost them both. Ohio County has played teams that they can beat and beat them.

Again, I have said good things about Henderson for some time, but to elevate on a loss is not my mode of operation on this ranking. In the end, what I say doesn't matter as all that does is win your district games and host another playoff game. I'd call that a win and I said that in the pre-season for Henderson as well. Best of Luck going forward!

Nothing but respect 88. I wasn't specifically trying to call out your rankings as much as I was questioning all rankings in general. When we rank teams are we doing it based off what resume looks good on paper or who we really believe are the best teams. I'm always curious how people determine their rankings. And I wasn't really trying to take a jab at Ohio Co. there's honesty not much significance in being #15 vs unranked. Me personally I've always been on the fence about what's better for a football program. Have a non district schedule of nothing but highly ranked teams and risk losing a bunch of games such as in Hendersons case the past few years or schedule bad 2A-4A teams like Ohio Co. does and build your program up and have better W/L records.

  2. I would of thought losing by a mere 6 points to the former #1 current #2 team would find you somewhere in the top 15. I understand Ohio County is 3-0 and undefeated looks good. But strength of schedule should matter. Its been this way the past 2-3 seasons. Henderson plays murderers row, has a underwhelming record. Gets over looked in these rankings then plays their district foe's that have better records by way of playing cupcakes Ohio Co. Daviess Co. etc (these teams get ranked) and then Henderson beats them all in the district with the exception of McCracken. I could be wrong but I just can't see Ohio Co. staying within 3 TD's of Henderson much less beating them. I am a homer but that's just my observation.

  3. Kalen Gibson was not on the fall of 2002 team. He graduated in the spring of 2002. He was on the Webster Co football teams in the previous seasons. He was on the Webster Co Baseball teams that reached the final 4 in 2001( lost to Ballard in semi finals) 2002 ( lost to Cov Cath in quarter finals) Webster went back to quarter finals in 2003 and lost to Dunbar. Willard coached all 3 of those teams. Also Bryce Gibson was a catcher on the team as well as a 4 year starter at QB. Chris Coy was a Jr on the team that enjoyed a great career in at EKU and spent some time in a NFL camp

That makes sense because 02 was Bryces senior yr and Kalen was a year older. The team still had some great players. Cy Dosset, Jon Knight, etc If I'm not mistaken (because Rambo might cry if I'm a little off)

  4. Zach Barnard was not starting QB. Kyle McGraw was. I hate inaccurate information
Like I said. I was 10 years old at the time and some of it was hard to remember. I was giving my best effort on information being theirs little to no way to fact check this stuff online. Go cry a river somewhere else about "inaccurate information"
  5. I watched several Webster county games this season. Some of its hard to remember being I was only 10. I remember the 02 season was highly anticipated and Webster was supposed to be good. How good was the question. Winning more games than you lose at Webster county is by definition good. I remember coach Hogg dying and nobody knowing what to expect for the upcoming year.

I attended their first game and it was a road game against union co. Webster won which was a big deal. Union county is by far the biggest rival and Webster very rarely beats them in football. So at that point I knew they were good. But how good was still debatable. Then they kept winning and winning. Never by a lot. But they always found a way. Then I remember attending I believe their last regular season game against Heath. It was at Webster and Webster was undefeated. I'm not sure if Webster had done secured their playoff situation and didn't play their starters or what but they got smashed at home by Heath.

I don't remember much about the first 2 playoff games from that year other than Webster won. But boy do I remember the 3rd. They were playing O'cath and O'cath was more than good. They were undefeated and beating teams by 40-50 a game. Now mind you Webster was good and only had one loss. But they were winning games by a touchdown or 2. Nobody was giving Webster a chance. The game was away for Webster and it was played at Rash and I remember walking in and that place was just electric. Il never forget that. Webster football being this good was unheard of so i think the whole county was at rash. The away bleachers were packed. Like most the other games that season Webster found a way to squeak out a close win against all odds. O'cath fans were in disbelief. O'caths Qb that year was Zach Barnard who went on to play football at Marshall. Webster had some true talent on their team as well. Bryce Gibson their QB could have played college football but elected to play baseball and was a pitcher for the university of Evansville. His brother kalen Gibson was a wide receiver and he played college baseball at UK. That was a truly special Webster County team. You can't go to a Webster county game without hearing stories of the 02 team.

  6. Don't know what is meant by this statement but Coach Boston has and will continue to do what is needed to give Henderson a winning record and become a playoff contender.

I'm not sure what is quite meant by it either anyone who knows coach Boston or follows him on Twitter or anything like that knows that he is very supportive and outspoken of the pros of playing multiple sports. He's always encouraged that.

  7. @thunder1 why do you hate Danville so bad? I have no rooting interest in this being I'm from far western Ky., I'm just curious. I remember reading post last year where you amped up Lexington Christian and how they were going to manhandle Danville. Then they played twice and your team got beat by something like a combined score of 90 to 21. So now your a fan of everyone that plays them? And you celebrate wins against them that your team didn't have a part in? That's not a good look.

  8. Why?

Why aren't they very good? There's a long list of reasons. Talent being down from previous years. A murder's row of a schedule. Lack of experienced players. A new head coach. A old head coach that left the program in a bad state.

People are going crazy as if this wasn't unexpected. Everyone in Henderson knew this season would be a long grind of a rebuilding year. The same thing happened in 07 when Clevenger took the job. They went 2-9 but he got the program in a good place and put together some solid 8-9 win seasons with deep playoff runs. It takes time.

  9. Heard Boyle is at Camp Jabez by themselves.

Yikes. We went there my sophomore year of highschool. I can honestly say out of all my highschool football expirences that was the most memorable. I believe we had more on field brawls than actual football. Good time.

  10. Mr. Emmitt, ChiefSittingBull is confident the Chief of the UC Football Tribe will remain in Union County. If you think there is a greater chance for long term success in class 6A compared to 3A you clearly don't follow KY football.

Well well. Looks like their was a issue with Boston wanting to stay Chief of the football tribe. It's alright tho. You were so optimistic about Morris as a coach I'm sure he'd be thrilled to come down to UC and take the reigns.

  11. Nobody is insinuating that the Henderson team they beat is a world beater. They were average. But the point is pre Newton days at Webster. A average Henderson team would have beaten Webster. In the entire history of their program they had 2 district titles untill they hired him and now they've had 2 in 5 years. He must be doing something right. There's aprox a 1200 student size difference between the schools for them to compete and even win is saying something.

  12. It sure seems like a lot of you are chalking it up as Webster was supposed to win, but earlier in the season everyone on here was saying expirence or not Henderson would win the district.

Anyone who believes that coach Newton isn't a huge factor is a fool. Webster Co. & Henderson have been in the same district for however many years and in all that time Webster has 4 total district titles, 2 of them coming since 2012 under Newton. He's the best coach in the region. And I've said it once and il say it again. Had Henderson hired him instead of going the route they did, they would have made it to Rupp by now.
