  1. Pretty impressive GRC still put up 75 given 26 ppg was missing out of the line up.  Provided they can continue to score, I think Coach Cook will get the defense squared away and they will continue to roll.  How long is he out?

This could make things a little more interesting with Montgomery if Morton is out for a period of time and given Montgomery has added a few new bodies...........

Unless the defensive player touched the offensive player it's either a warning or a play on. Contact could, imo, warrant a T, but a warning might be more appropriate. Don't believe there's anything illegal about playing defense O.B., but it is a foul for a defensive player to be simultaneously making contact with the boundary and an offensive player, however minor or incidental you deem the contact with the player with the ball.

I'm happy to be corrected on this.

This is my thinking.  I feel as though the offensive player went out of bounds, that does not prevent the defender from guarding them.  However, I do feel that if the defender touched the pass at any point or was still over the line while the offensive player received the pass, that might be another issue.  Pretty sure my high school coach once told me, "I don't care if he goes to the bathroom, you go with him", certainly if you can go there you can follow them out of bounds????????

  3. Very interesting last 1:00 of the game.  Walton misses the front end of the bonus on 2-3 straight possessions as they were up by 3.  Woodford gets a bucket during that time but has several empty possessions themselves.  Woodford had the ball with about 6 seconds under their own basket with about 5-6 seconds left down 1, fumbles the inbounds pass, but still manages to get an open jump shot at the buzzer, clearly they missed.  Very interesting (yet sloppy), ending to a good game.

  4. This thread has several layers.  First, as I scroll through the daily schedules across the state, I have noticed many home-school programs stepping up and scheduling games against KHSAA sanctioned teams.  Therefore, I want to give recognition to those programs for competing against higher level competition and for the most part doing a pretty good job of holding their own.  I am sure it is great for all the athletes to get in as many games as possible and play whoever they can.

Next, I have noticed that Bluegrass United has posted AT LEAST two victories over sanctioned teams, Bath County and Berea (played close with Lynn Camp).  I know they are a home-school team that services 9-12 home-school students in the Lexington area, but what other information can anyone else provide?  Player information, previous accomplishments, etc?

  5. I am unaware if the state released specific guidance related to spectators and attendance during winter sports or if school districts are to determine what those policies will be?  In other words, what will attendance look like in the various regions/areas of the state?  Will it be limited to family only or will there be a select number of pre-ordered tickets available.........just curious.  I just hope these athletes get their season, but selfishly I would still like to watch!

  6. Interesting question, however, not sure why a senior would want to do this for several reasons.........

    1.  Not sure if there are many seniors out there that could enroll at their college/university and play immediately, especially if they are joining in January.

    2. By joining late, you have already lost almost a half a year of eligibility (I would rather have a full year).  In addition, by the time you got to school, learned the system, got in shape, etc........season is over.

    3. This year is not guaranteed at the collegiate level either.

I think the biggest question or issue at this point is what can we do for those seniors to help with exposure if the season is lost.  Even if the season is postponed, athletes will probably not be able to play as many games.  Hopefully there will be opportunities for seniors to play in multiple games/camps/exposure opportunities to help them get to the next level.

  7. When Lloyd decided to put a hold on their season shortly before things got underway, how many impact players did they lose to transferring?  Not that this would of had a drastic change in the outcome of this game because I believe Beechwood is a top-tier team, I just ask out of curiosity.............
