Is it just a down year for Conner? Seen Grant play and usually Conner pretty solid.
They're young team and that has a lot to do with it. They would maintain possession for spells then would give it away. I think next year they could be solid because they had some young talent but their youth showed last night with a lot of unforced errors.

Sorry to fast anybody see this game?
Grant played well. Missed a couple of chances they probably should've scored on. (Conners keeper saved a PK hit pretty much in middle but with a lot of pace. Made a really nice save in a 1v1) Grants back line wasn't tested too often but Conner had some chances from set pieces. It was a pretty good performance

Anyone have a name/grade of HC gk?
Zach Combs and I believe he is a junior

Final.
Holy Cross' keeper is outstanding. Very athletic and stopped several goals.
That kid is the real deal!

Oldbird,
I don't think it is public anymore. I'm pretty sure only schools and officials have access. That or I just haven't been able to find it.

Is Grant Co that improved? Who have they played this season? Maybe a case could be made for them to make the top 10 next week but I am not sure about them being top 5.
Grants Schedule
8/18 W 5-0 vs Villa
8/19 W 3-1 vs Calvary
8/20 W 4-3 vs Holmes
Agree with YC on this one. Let's see how they do over the next week or so. Hopefully they play well!

Calvary club talent every position and very young w several fresh, soph playing big minutes- they just get better
That's the truth. Great result for Calvary tonight. They could be a dangerous team in October.

I'm intrigued to see the score of this Beechwood NCC game. I think they have the talent to come out of the district.
-
Just based off of scores, I think this is much closer than 4-0.[/quote
Could be and I really hope that it is. I haven't seen Broasart one bit, but just based off the the past I took a wild swing in the dark.

Does Calvary have many freshmen playing at the varsity level? I know they have a couple of high level club kids on their Varsity roster, but do they have any depth behind them?
They have 4 on the roster I think. It seems McNiell and Lockard seem to get the majority of minutes as far as freshmen.

I'm confused by these two comments, they would seem to contradict each other.
(Calvary) "are very close to turning the corner to being a really good team"
"I would say Bishop wins this 4-0"
I think they are close to turning the corner being a good team. Meaning they aren't there yet but missing a couple key components. That is why just based purely on opinion I would guess they lose 4-0. Could be less could be more. Lots of teams could be good in the future and lose today

I have not seen Brossart play yet but it seems they got a decent result against a quality St Henry team. It will be interesting to see. Having seen Calvary play 3 times I feel I can elaborate a little more. They have quality and talent at key positions and seem like they are very close to turning the corner to being a really good team. I would say Bishop wins this 4-0 (just based off past experience with Brossart) but I could see Calvary being a dangerous team come tournament time.

Anyone see last night's games?
Holy Cross 1 Scott 0
Just caught 15 so not to much to say but both played with intensity and just seemed young
Ryle1 Campbell 0
Ryle looked good probably should have scored more. Both teams look good and have talent should be good years for them.

Showing my age but Jeff Hughes (Holmes) was easily one of the best I played against personally. That guy made me look really bad.

And now that CovCath team is beating a state semi-finalist 5-0.
Fern Creek got a good draw that positioned them to get to the final four. Not saying they were not a good team but 3 of the teams in the final four stayed in the top 5 of Maher pretty much all year.
The teams this year are just as talented as teams previous.

1-0 at halftime and this is a great game so far. HC is very technical and quick through the midfield with Collin Rose dominating in the middle... he is so quick on the ball.Watching Mabika play is also a treat. He looks composed every time he's on the ball and with his size he's always shielding when the ball is on his foot, but man he's got some very nice technical skill as well.
Has the softest touch for a big man.

4-0 CC lamb found Litzler for the tap in
-
Creeks keeper is playing lights out. Only reason this game is somewhat respectable.
-
Best Kettle Corn in the state.
-
3-0 CC Lamb with 2 Wessels with a nasty volley 7 m min left in the first.
-
Yes but I've never witnessed an AD do anything if there was one except at the state tournament.

Anyone know if Charlie Wend has made any decisions about playing in college? I'm sure there are some programs interested. Doesn't hurt that he's got a nice sized frame and could probably be moved to different positions if needed (if not playing up top he'd make a pretty solid center back IMO).
I heard possibly Thomas Moore but not sure how true that is. Know his parents well. Charlie is a great kid and a talented player. Good luck to him in the future.
