Nonsense, as recent as last season Central Hardin was playing Apollo, Butler, Fern Creek, South Oldham. The schedule was brutal this season and putting probably the best team on the schedule in week 10 is not smart. I love the way Trinity has their bye week the last week of the season, giving their players time to recharge and heal some of the bumps and bruises before starting the playoffs.

Thru the years, Central Hardin has scheduled the likes of Bowling Green, South Warren, CAL, Central, Manual, Boyle County, and have not won any of these matchups! I called it and it happened vs Bryan Station. I saw Bryan Station the first game of the season vs Trinity and knew the game vs CH would not be competitive.

Again your proving my point they smoked most of those teams in both years of the contract so those teams like Apollo and Fern Creek probably didn't want to play them anymore. You can't force teams to play you, Etown won't play them. I'm sure Central would have loved to not played the brutal schedule they played this year. However they were coming off a Region Title Appearance and I'm sure they easy opponent were lining up to play them in this new cycle.  I'm sure its not their dream to play bowling green and Louisville central and so on. Scheduling in this state is a challenge as you have to come with 7 games on your own and find a way to get 5 home and 5 away and find people who will mutually agree to play you.

My words on the thread of the Central Hardin vs Bryan Station were prophetic.

"I am still trying to wrap my head around why CH would schedule this game as their last game of the season leading into the playoffs? The negatives outweigh the positives in this one. CH has virtually no chance in this game and can only come away with a risk of injuries and a bruised psyche going into the playoffs".

So, Central Hardin was down 21-0 with less than 3 minutes gone in the first quarter and by the end of the game both running backs (Walker Meredith and Mason Gardner), were both out of the game with injuries. QB Zachary Spurrier also got rocked on several plays and was not himself the rest of the game.

Again, why would you play a Bryan Station the week before the playoffs begin?

Central Hardin should win this first round matchup against an inferior team in Christian County with or without their dual threat RBs and set up a rematch with North Hardin in the second round of the playoffs assuming North Hardin gets by Daviess County.

    Prediction:

    Central Hardin 36

    Christian County 12

You do realize with all the success Central Hardin has had over the past 10 years nobody is signing up to play them. You can't force other teams to play you, outside of the 3 district games teams have to find 7 other opponents. So its either play 9 games or play a tough opponent who would like them to play that week?

  3. Since arriving with "archaic" offense Coach Mattingly has won 2 Region titles and appeared in 4 Region titles and won at least 6 or 7 district championships. Before his arrival they had never won a Region ever! So I would say that's pretty impressive with a so called old school offense. Central doesn't have 4.4 speed kids. Coach Mattingly has built a program on toughness and defense and I'd say that's tailoring your team to its strength and personnel.

  4. I would like to nominate Fort Knox vs Fort Campbell- The Army Bowl- Not only it a great in state rivalry it is one of the most unique high school games in America. There are only 3 Department of Defense run high schools in the United States that play football and two happen to be in the same state. I think you could argue through the 80's and early 90s both programs were some the best in the state and then Ft Campbell great run in the 2000's as well. Total respect on both sides of the ball with kids who grow up with pretty unique and transient situations, the average military child moves 6 to 9 times during their school years. It may not have the luster it used to have but is still a great event each time the schools meet. Please let me know if I can provide more information or anything else and thank you for your consideration!

  5. I said it earlier on the other thread, everyone had a season except Fort Knox and Fort Campbell and their kids don't get the option to reclassify. Everyone else got there season there should be no redo for them.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Kroger Field & Cardinal Stadium still both have traditional lights, although they both have LED video screens, and I know at least Kroger Field has a lighted LED video/multimedia band that runs around the perimeter of the second tier of seats. Cov Cath's football stadium was the first stadium in the state of Kentucky (on any level) to have LED lights, and those didn't premier until August of 2017.

To your point, though, half of the state finals football games are played in daylight.  Still, I mean, I guess you can still have a LED light show while the sun is shining, but I don't know what the purpose really is. 😬😬

I’m not even saying you need the light show but they could easily add some stuff. Like instead of announcing one starter at a time why not do it like uk football or pro baseball teams do during warmups they introduce the starters on the jumbotron with a picture of them in uniform. Like I said earlier rent a couple of smoke machines and turn them on as teams run out of the tunnel. Easy cheap things they could add.

  7. Yesterday as I watched the sweet 16 final is it just me or is the noticeable lack of effort the khsaa puts into creating big time atmosphere for state football finals vs basketball. They had a light show, introductions with pictures of each starter, pump up music,  they always have a professional highlight video played prior to hand that they make up in less than 2 hours. For football they play the same 5 classic  rock songs during each warmup and the teams just run onto the field with the PA guy saying “here comes...” would it hurt to at least bring our some smoke machines or something. They have a full week to get ready why can’t teams submit clips from hudl and the khsaa make a highlight montage of the two teams playing based off the hudl clips they submit. Maybe I’m wrong but I think it’s very noticeable the difference.
