  1. It lists Carson Williams as the first 8th region player to win Mr. Basketball in over 40 years, but they actually had back to back winners in 1999 and 2000.

You're right, Scott County was in the 8th region then and Rick Jones was Mr Basketball in 1999 and Scott Hundley in 2000. Hard to keep up with years and changes.

  2. No dog here either....loved the back and forth between the students. But you have to admit there was some classless X chants as well. I was sitting with an X dad who told his son to tell them to stop the Newman chants. The dad was embarrassed by a few of the X and I am certain the same could have been said for Trinity. No need to say one was the 'leader' because they were both being kids at a big game in a major rivalry.

I think what upset people was that during handshakes by teams after the game was over as McKim neared Trinity student stands while still shaking hands, Trinity students started the chant again, "You let your whole team down" some one from Trinity finally made them quit.

  3. Waggener (15-13) - Hobbs 13, Hill 10, Knight 8, Hendricks 6, Taylor 5, Kalakon 5, Kratholm 4 St. X (22-9) -McKim 34, Basham 9, Olsen 5, Walker 5, Kiesler 4 3 point goals - Hobbs 2, Kalakon, Knight, Taylor, McKim St. X 57, Waggener 51: Down by 2 at the end of the third quarter, the Tigers (22-9) stepped up their game to score 23 points in the fourth to seal their first win in the Seventh Region Tournament over the Wildcats (15-13). Senior Connor McKim scored his 1,000th point of his career for St. X as he led them to victory pouring in 34 points. The Tigers go on to play Eastern for a Seventh Region semi-final game on Friday at 7:30 at Valley High School.
