I've come here today to pen this little rhyme
about Selma, the most remarkable film of all-time.
It wrote and directed,
photographed and then acted
itself, like a road without workers who laid it.
So I offer this stricture
on its nod for Best Picture
while not one for the people who made it.
No actors, no artists, no cast, and no crew;
it sprang from the ground and they showed it to you.
Maybe Legend and Common will prove it belongs.
But did it get the nod just because of their song?
