  1. My two cents: if there is film that shows this more clearly, then this should have been fixed by the KHSAA. Wait....bad choice of language.

I kinda agree with calling the penalty more often, don't want to get kids hurt...but why in this age of film and video where everything can be reviewed do we put power in the hands of officials who have proven over and over, year after year, again and again...that they are human. Officials should call the game and then someone else can do a review for suspensions and such.

Hate it for Arnett that finish of his senior year is tied directly to the judgment of a single official.

  2. Almost every year, somebody has their best team ever. And because of our pretty good playoff record for the last gazillionteen years, we end up running into these "best" teams a lot. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. If you really want to know how good your team is, we will come help you find out. This year, however, is one of our best teams. If cal can beat this Mayfield team, then hats off to them. Mayfield......35-14.

    GO BIG RED!

  3. Should Mayfield win out they would end the season with a 15-0 record and they will have a very special and unique streak that no one appears to realize yet. For now so as to not jinx it I will remain silent.

PM'ed a guess. They are special team and group of kids and coaches no matter what.

  4. When Daryl told him last week that he understood why he did it, I think that was the clue he would be a factor in Daryl's emancipation.

Darry will try to to kill Negan, fall short, and be about to be killed, Dwight, in a sudden surge of humanity, will save Darryl, die himself in the process, and allow Darryl to live on. (something along those lines?)

  5. The more they show Negan, the less sense it all makes. I am unconvinced anyone would follow him. He makes less compelling leader than Rick, and that's saying something because no one should listen to Rick either.

Last year Rick's group was killing Negan's group willy nilly. Every other episode they were killing Negan people "easy peasy lemon squeezy." Now all of the sudden they can't even hide a gun or two? It just makes no sense.

And why is Carl alive? Glenn is killed b/c Darryl hit Negan but Carl shoots at a guy and nothing happens? Well, nothing but more Negan flapping his gums.

  6. I think the score predictions were the same as last year and it was close (14-7) up til about 8 minutes to go in the game when as usual Mayfield worked their magic. The final was

24-13. I think it's going to be a great game. No disrespect to the Mayfield faithful. You guys are great fans and loyal to your team as we are at OC.

I think that is gonna hurt OC. The Big Red Memory is in effect and the boys will be dialed in. That, in my opinion, is our only real weakness, a tendency to relax every once in a while.

Let's give OC two touchdowns and then a third for what I expect will be an inspired effort by them. That's 21 points. It won't be enough. Mayfield 42 to 21.

    GO BIG RED!

  7. Regardless of how it ends, I was wrong in my assessment, thinking an easy HRC win. I am depressed, and never like to be wrong, but I'm wrong a lot so I'll get over that. Never should have stole the primary from Bernie. Going to call it a night. I'll eat crow more appropriately later, but right now just really depressed about what this portends for all of us. Hard to imagine anyone, on either side, being happy or satisfied with the two least popular candidates of all time.

  8. There are at least 2 outspoken atheists who are frequent posters here.

I am one, but not being judgmental about Christianity (in this thread). I have "judged" the initial post, which is fair since it was offered up to be discussed. This thread is a prime example of the fact that Christians never get values from their religion, Christians put their values into religion and then they get to claim what they believe is right because it came from god.

  9. go back and read the opening post. I said that it is immoral and unholy to say those kind of things. So if you were to analyze that I think you would conclude that I also believe it is immoral and unholy to actually do those things.

You can say one thing and mean another. We all know what you meant, it was in the title.

If you, a clergy, are not that bothered by something unholy and immoral, why all the fuss about signing a marriage certificate or baking a cake?

I feel like I am in a monty python skit.

  10. Have you ever been accused of being overanalytical? Men in power tend to say and do bad things, especially men I'm power that do not fear God nor man. Heck, even the leader of Israel, who feared God, fell into this kind of mess.

Also, I do not know what crawfish means.

And yet here you are, fearing God, and very very confused. Sexually assaulting women is bad. (at the risk of over-analyzing) Talking about women, in a way that objectifies them, is also bad. If you, as a leader of your church, do not stand up to the "bad things" that "men in power" do, then .....

Crawfish means to walk away from a statement. To me. Am I the only one?

  11. Friend do you just make this stuff up? Did anyone ever say that it was OK to do or say anything?

Yes. You say in the title of the the thread that you aren't that bothered by the comments. "not that bothered" equals "OK"

Especially when you then expressly and specifically justified his "dirty talk" by referencing a famous biblical sexual offender.

You chose to make the thread, say as a Christian you aren't bothered by the dirty talk. Implicitly saying that your Christianity does not conflict with this dirty talk. Then you go on to expressly do what you just implicitly did, which is use the bible to justify the act/words and your "not being bothered by it."

So yes, we all know what you said and what you meant. Don't crawfish.

Now, if, as a Christian, and a clergy to boot, you are NOT bothered by Trump's comments, let me make this as clear as I can...You SHOULD be. You should be bothered as a clergy, as a Christian, as a man, and as a decent human being. If that book has got you to the point that you can't find a way to be bothered by his words/acts, then put the book away....it's hurting you.

  12. True, but has it been proven that he is guilty of doing these things, or is it nothing but mere "locker room" talk?

You are missing the point of the thread which is it's okay to say or do these things because ....... bible and david and yeah. Who cares if its proven if bible stuff says it's ok?

And yes it has been proven, to my satisfaction. We each have to decide for ourselves whether it has been proven. I heard a confession, freely given when he was unaware it was being recorded. No coercion, just him being honest and bragging about being a sex offender because it made him feel powerful. The confession was enough proof for me.

Beyond the confession, there are the dozen? of women who have come forward, both before the confession and after, and said he did this to them. So that's more proof.

I also find his confession, and the allegations, to be very consistent with his apparent character.

    Proven? Yep.

  13. I am a Christian man and I support Donald Trump. I wish he would not have said those things about women but why should we expect anything different? He is a wealthy and famous star that does not fear God nor man, wouldn't we expect him to act and say things that are unholy or immoral.

Look at King David in the Bible. He was the King of the Kingdom of God. He had so many wives and concubines at his disposal but he wanted a woman that he was forbidden to have. Bathsheba was married to someone else, therefore she was out-of-bounds even for the king. Nonetheless David wanted her and even arranged the death of her husband. Was David unfit to be King of Israel?

He did more than say things about women. He described the act of moving on a married woman like a ..xxxx. Trying to ____ her. So that's an act. He also used words...to describe acts that he had done. Are you saying you wish he had not used words but you don't care about the actual acts he described? Or are you saying you believe when he used words to describe acts he had done that he really hadn't done the acts.

And what about the women who say..."yes, he sexually assaulted me." Do you, as a Christian man, simply not care about women who are victims of sexual assault? It's a fair question, especially since the bible story you lean on to justify this position of yours is a story of rape. David raped Bathsheba. So yeah, if that is your cornerstone story (lol) why would you not support a serial sexual assaulter.

And why even look at some story in the bible? He says he goes around and grabs women in the ______. Is it that hard to see that as immoral and wrong? Do you have to consult a book for guidance? And if you do, why in god's name (haha) would you pick a rape story for guidance.

Here's the easy answer. It's wrong to sexually assault women. It's wrong to hit on married women, and it's wrong to talk about them in such derogatory terms.

I really worry about your congregation. You need a guest atheist to come help them.
