If there are McPeek's involved, you can fear for the worst.
Garry has a track record for sure but nathan Mcpeek is a solid man and coach. He made a mistake but don't mix him in with his relation. Any school would be lucky to have Nate. I hate that people like yourself keep the pot stirred, it's now 2017 move on to better things the mcpeeks have.

Fred ray lol
-
Not sure if true but heard Nate mcpeek and Brent terry turned them down.
-
Nathan mcpeek?
Chad Tackett?
I would at minimum make calls to gage interest.

Raceland is a typical eastern Kentucky team they play hard but have zero speed. Unsure if they have one college football on their team and football overall in our area is bad all the way around. Population decline And lack of jobs has hampered development of the athletics over the years. IMO coaching is below par in our area but what good coaches would want these gigs? Painstville has way more speed than Raceland but Raceland plays hard should be a good one.

Played terrible schedule and very slow football team in my opinion.

Russell with Ivan McGlone:
1. Garry McPeek
2. TJ Maynard
3. Nathan McPeek
I'm sure some others I'm forgetting in the Russell tree.

Mcpeek was offered the job from what I heard but they didn't have job for his wife anywhere in the district associated with Shelby Valley so didn't work out. I heard Hampton got the job as well so good luck to Shelby Valley.

Several reasons for this thread and you all can continue to comment and slander as need be.
1. I was offered the AD position which would mean a nice financial increase, which having a newborn seemed fairly smart but I wanted to stay at BC, get that through your concussed brains. I would remain on staff as unofficial HC as not to interrupt the work the kids had been doing. (BCPS does not allow AD to be HC). Former AD publicly resigned and I was asked for my letter of interest for the AD position accompanied by my HC resignation so hiring could be done within house.
Letter of resignation was filed and I was told I would no longer be a candidate for AD. I now have to re-apply for my job as HC.
2. I have been open with my administration about the 3 jobs I applied for this off season, all 3 in which I considered a step up. (dream jobs are a stretch--- I coached at Male, I know what greener pastures look like)
3. I have been at BC for two and half years, 3 off seasons. I have been in the county for 6 years as a teacher. 3 principals and 7 asst Principals have come and gone and now a 3rd AD will be hired at Bullitt Central.
4. Leasor told me when I took over, don't take the job Tye it's a HC grave yard. My mentors told me before their departure, that I needed to get out of BC while I was marketable. Instead, I wanted to prove them wrong and I wanted to stay. Don't make this look like I'm out searching and leaving my guys high and dry. That's not me. Re-applying is not of my choosing. There are better candidates out there--- absolutely there are; however, every Jordan has a Lebron and every Kobe has a Curry; every Montana has a Young; you all might be better but I'm willing to out work the majority of you.
I always told myself I wouldn't answer the critics but I'm feeling a little spiteful today. Don't get on here and act like you know me.
Well said coach and good luck to you. So many coaches on this site (state) don't have a clue about anything. I get hammered all the time for supporting a guy (Nathan McPeek) I'm friends with and so many of his so called friends get online and don't support him. It's sad that people enjoy/love to bash others when bad things happen. When you think about life in general not many people are truly your friends and truly care about you. 90 percent of people are happy you have problems and don't ever want to help you fix them. The coaching profession is a tough job and I for one will always support coaches thru the good but most importantly thru the bad times. Good luck to you coach!!

Armstrong called d the last half of the year. Dont know why your saying otherwise.
ok I didn't know that he did the last part of the season my apologies.
-
He has hurt feelings C21.
No sir
-
Mullins called the defense so not sure why you guys saying otherwise. He's one of the few coaches left in the country that called offense and defense. Yet again an example of how little Greenup thinks of football. You need a staff in football to compete. Daniel Armstrong to my knowledge was one of the first people the administration even hired for football to help Mullins other guys were teachers present there already or paraprofessional.

Another ms coach hired what a joke!

Not many schools in this area can throw it because no athletes are here. Russell runs the ball out of spread they don't resemble the franklin system. It cracks me up to see people on these sites think the Franklin system is gold. It's an offense just like power I, wing t, wishbone, it doesn't matter what you run if you have the players. Good luck to coach grizzle but still can't believe Greenup didn't get an experienced coach.
-
Not surprised by the hire but I will say this. Be careful what you ask for, Greenup isn't a great job and he has never been a full time teacher to my knowledge. I wish Him the best but seems like Greenup could have hired someone with more experience because it's a firestorm to deal with things as a head coach I'm
Sure. Good luck to coach grizzle and Greenup county.

Young guy from Rams

So they don't lift or run any during the off season?? I find that hard to believe. They are doing nothing at Bell Co. right now and haven't since December.
I said you workout and do meetings bobcat dad, simply saying this isn't college or NFL.
-
Football is a fall sport, yes you need to work out and have some meetings. You can be successful without all the stuff in the off season. Belfry doesn't kill the kids in the off season and they have great success. Everyone newsflash this is HS Football not NFL or College. Let kids be kids and work smarter not longer.
-
Heard they called McPeek and he wasn't interested.
-
Spring football is a tool but doesn't mean wins and losses. I think we view HS football like college and pro but it is not the same. If you want to do spring great, if you don't great. I don't view it was a make or break deal. We have to many things to require upon the kids anymore and that is why so many aren't playing sports.
-
Spring football is overrated in high school period! College is better because it's a business and in high school they wouldn't have many guys that run track or play baseball.
-
Not sure it will be till officially hired at Montgomery
-
Nelson County be open, can't believe who Montgomery has passed up on this job. I guess they think they are a major player in Kentucky HS football :walk: Good Luck

Politics is the easy excuse people make when their candidate didn't get a job. It would seem that no one gets a job anymore from working hard and earning it.
Nobody gets a job anymore for working hard and earning it I agree with that 100%, it's reality not an excuse. If you don't know someone or have an inside person you aren't getting the job anymore in today's society.
Frederick Douglass to announce head football coach on Monday

Totally agree so when a mistake is made successful people learn from them and grow stronger. I know Nate more so than garry but I personally think he's great guy. Good luck to Douglas
