  1. Boone County, Cooper, NCC & Ryle made the championship bracket of the Bluegrass State Games. Cooper gets a first round bye along with Henry Clay implying they are the overall #1 or #2 seed. Matches start at 1:00PM today at KBA in Lexington.

Beechwood, Campbell County & Simon Kenton made Flight 2.

    Highlands & Walton-Verona made Flight 3.

Holy Cross is in Flight 4.

Bishop Brossart is in Flight 8.

Odd that no one from Beechwood was named. Or maybe they weren't present so didn't announce them.

  3. This was a good match to watch. Even the JV match was fun (Raiders won in three). Someone mentioned H. Bush delivered a missile to one of the Cooper players' heads...it's true, looked like she was stunned for a few seconds. Now I understand why C. Barber wears a helmet! Was waiting in line at the concession stand before varsity match, heard two women say there's a rumor two of the Cooper girls are transferring to Ryle next year. Hmmm, very interesting! Also completely unsubstantiated.

  4. I just can't see Cooper being any good until their coaching staff improves. I'm sure they have good intentions but parents with players there have told me they don't utilize their talent very well...some kids on varsity should really be on JV and vice versa. I have no insight into why the setter left but if she was the obvious choice for this year and voluntarily chose not to return it should speak volumes about the situation.
