I don't care about total points returning as much as I look at what players are returning and can they pick up some point totals.

Just by what has been posted, you look at SK with 14 kids off the roster returning says something. They were good last year. Can they continue to develop.

Collins is returning a great trio of players. They can pick up the scoring and will be favorite to win 30th and compete for region.

Oakley has worked in the school system for several years. IMO he is very respected in the community. I guess he decided to come out of coaching retirement. I hope it works out well for him and the crazy parents give him a chance.

They had 5 and it is official..

Collins losing Feltner fort hurts but have plenty coming back and those numbers will go up for the returnees. They will be in hunt again for region.

Shelby has tons returning especially TJ Robinson. Not sure about up north

Where is he now?

On a serious side for the locals, who is going to do the hiring?

Sorry cards, but just reminding you where your bread is buttered. Yes they did beat Collins and was PO’ed about it.

Maybe that is why we should go after AC if he doesn’t get or promised that job.

Enough with the Spencer County talk taking over this thread. Until they make a region, no sense in talking about them.

 

I can promise you that the Shelby job is open. I don't know about all the "job postings" or Internet hackers or any of that.

 

Who do we think will put their name in the hat for this job? Who should Shelby pursue?

 

Would Holland come back? Would Bryan Hyatt ever get tired of waiting on Anderson and come to Shelby? Would they go after a coach leaving a Jefferson Co program(KCD)? Would they think about going after AAU guys?

 

There have to be quality coaches(head and asst) that will put in for this job.

Hearing the tall asst coach at Shelby is interested. Hyatt will never leave AC. Had a backing for the job last time and he pussed out and made several look like fools. I will go for a east end coach. Might pull some players. As far as the aau guy? Well he might be a good quality asst. he did have a great team that would be seeing a lot of playing time for Shelby this year but he talked them into going to other schools. Got to develope those kids and then build up at east middle.

Will need someone who is willing to build that program. K thru 8 will be redistricted next year.

I wonder if SCHS has their own rule where they have to post jobs every year? Coach's contracts have to be renewed every year but usually it is done behind the scenes if the coach is staying on without posting it. As mentioned SCHS has a ton of jobs posted which leads me to believe that not all coaches were let go or resigning?

I guess you are right cards. Why would Shelby want him?? Anderson coaches pulls his pants and spanks him in district when he was favorite.

Wonder if 8th region warrior would be interested? What other names do we have?

Maybe a guy from Anderson? Someone off staff at South Oldham? I would find me a eastern Jefferson county coach.

Well cards if you are going to compete with Collins then you had better get some more transfers in.

Maybe Shelby will go after Burns.

Like I said cards, Conley wouldn’t be there if Shelby made right hire last time.

No offense to your 3 freshman but you do realize the Collins had 3 sophomores that are pretty darn good.

Get a TO, are we really sure this job is open? Yes it is posted BUT is anyone going anywhere? Girls job also posted.

I think if they attract the right coach, it just might keep kids from transferring out. Maybe then Spencer wouldn’t have such young talent. They can build program back up but let’s be real, until admin hires the right coach this time and district lines are redrawn, they will still be just behind Collins but can be ahead of the others. Woodford moving in doesn’t scare me.

He runs the middle school program.

Not sure if Simpson has anything to do with it but South seems to shoot well over there.

Drury did have a long run at AC something you just don’t see anymore.

Thanks CM. The AC vs SO will feature IMO the 2 best players in 8th. I’m really not sure which one based on this years performance should be POY.

Not sure who to pick in this one but I will take Oldham to win tonight and tomorrow night. This is the year they get monkey off their back.

Collins just didn’t have a good last 3 weeks of the season. Not sure why but great career for Fort and Feltner
