I believe so yes. That coach did not agree to it and that is what is best for the program imo. Scott will find another game.

They will? With who? Mostly everyone is on the backend of two year deals. SC is hung out to dry and will likely have 9 games. Unprofessional move by Levi Rogers.

Everyone has bad games or bad halves I understand that. But Scott Co. didn't look very good against Lincoln Co., especially in the first half.  I think their offense will give Boyle some trouble from time to time, option teams usually break off a few,  but if they can't keep Boyle's offense off the field I don't think it's as close as some might think.  I just don't see their D being able to keep them in it.

SC does not and has never run the option.

Scoring that many combined points in a Freshman game is not easy. Had to be a lot of big plays I presume?

Reminds me of a Freshman basketball game I played where we lost 104-86 to Man, WV.

I am not sure our varsity even scored 86 points that season in a single game. LOL.

How did that happen you may ask? Well apparently WV played varsity length quarters in Freshman games. We also both pressed each other (very ineffectively) leading to lots of layups and wide open 3's in transition in addition to the few times the press did work leading to quick/easy baskets.

I remember I scored 22 points that night and it was only the 6th highest point total between the two teams. They had 3 guys score over 25 points each and we had a guy go for 28.

You are right. A lot of explosive plays and 10 minute quarters as opposed to some teams choosing to play 8.

Jayden Garrett had TD runs of 61, 48, and 52. Nick Ranson had a 56 yard TD and Anderson “Red” Owens went for 70. Combine that with #26 breaking away for Corbin for the first 2.5 quarters, made for a 9:45 finish on a 7pm kickoff. It was a great opener for our guys.

The Cardinals have emerged once again as the premiere team in Georgetown. Scott County looks to build on momentum from the 2022 season where they finished 11-2 before falling by a point to Southwestern in the regional finals. Spirits are high in Georgetown with the departure of Frederick Douglass to 6A and the new high school / stadium / indoor facility under construction. This will be their last season without a home field (have not had home field since early 90's, played at Georgetown College until 2018 and Birds Nest Stadium on the campus of Great Crossing since 2019). Loads of talent returns for the Cards, but they do have some key positions to replace with younger/newer guys.

    KEY DEPARTURES

    NG #77 Cam Keller - 6'0 300 - 48 TOTAL TACKLES 13 TFL

    ILB #1 Elijah Adams - 6'0 230 - 78 TOTAL TACKLES 9 TFL

    C #56 Daniel Daff - 5'11 290 - 1st Team All Courier

    RG #52 Nate Hall - 6'1 245 - x2 All District

    KEY RETURNERS

QB #12 Andrew Hickey ('25)6'2 185 - Will be a 3rd year starter in the WingT, having already amassed 1900 yards and 22 Passing Touchdowns. Look for him to continue to be a precision passer and use his legs more as SC will be deeper in QB room.

FB #39 Jacob Fryman ('24) 5'9 225 - Those of you who witnessed the 2nd round game at Highlands know what a load this kid is. Rushed for 1040 yards and 16 TDs in career.

RB#11 Ellis Hugueley ('24) 5'10 180 - 784 yards 11 TD on 101 attempts. Shifty/Dynamic excellent pass catcher out of the backfield. Will be 3 year starter

RB#13 Thomas Feickert ('24) 5'9 175 - 741 yards 10 TD on 108 attempts. 3 year starter. Hard runner with great vision, tremendous blocker.

TE#15 Isaac York ('25) 6'0 200 - 21 catches 360 yards 6 TDs as a Soph. Extremely dynamic playmaker who can split wide as well

RB #26 Ali Hamdiyah ('25) 5'10 195 - Perhaps the most dynamic RB in CKY that few know about. Really damaged Bryan Station's defense last year before going out with a collar bone. This kid is hard to tackle and can go the distance any time. Look for him to burst onto the scene.

    LG #73 Cristian Rodriguez ('25) 5'11 240 - Nasty blocker. Extremely strong/athletic. 2 year starter.

OT #68 Tyler Brown ('24) 6'4 270 - Moved in from Station Week 8. Nice addition to the OL. Athletic and experienced.

DL #8 Jasante' Harmon - 48 total tackles, 12.5 TFL, 4.5 sacks in 2022. Hard to block. High Motor and extremely powerful. Offered by SEMO.

    FS #4 Paul Garner ('24) 5'11 175 - 2nd in 5A INTs in 2022. (5 INTs 60 tackles) Smart/Fast/Physical. Will be a 3 year starter.

CB #5 Buddy Collins ('25) 5'10 175 - 3 Star Cornerback with elite speed and ball skills. Miami of OH offered recently.

SS #14 Jackson Damron ('25) 5'9 180 - 50 tackles and an INT as a sophomore. Flat out hitter and will fly around.

    OLB #10 Luke Valencia ('24) 5'8 195 - 67 total tackles 9 TFL and 2 INTs. 3 year starter.

Scott County is (almost?) loaded with talent, perhaps the most talent since the school split and the drop to 5A. They are unified and hungry. The new district and non conference challenges certainly make for an exciting pre season. Can the Cards get back to Kroger as 5A contenders?
