I miss the NUT
By the way our AD received a nice note from a JV parent about the meal we provided, we are happy the kids and parents were not only surprised but happy to have received the sack lunch. Again, great day of soccer at Trinity on Saturday.

I'd say that the only reason your son's name ever came up on this thread is due to the fact he was brought up by another poster before the game in a previous thread discussing the matchup of Trinity/CCH. I won't re-hash all of that but it was basically a rundown of the Mr. Soccer status, D1 status, Trinity was technically better than CCH, etc, etc. It was basically going to be a little like a hot knife through butter.
Had his name not been brought up in the pre-game thread, it's very unlikely he'd have been brought up individually in the post-game thread. I'm quite sure that before that conversation no more than 3-4 parents on the CCH side even knew who he was and that is not intended as a slight or a shot. There are just not many followers of soccer statewide on most high school teams.
Okay. Thanks.

You can view my comments as shots if you'd like but they were simply my observations on the game and yes, the hard foul he committed on Lilly could have caused serious injury and should have been his second yellow. That's not a shot, just a statement of what I think is fact just like when I said the foul the CCH player committed on the Trinity player was stupid and lazy because that's what it was.
Thanks for your opinions. My reference was not to the cards issues, but again I should have kept my opinions to myself.
Covington Catholic has a great team, players and parents. Good luck.
PS glad you liked the sandwiches.

Ok. I hope this works posting from an iPhone at a conference in DC. Old baseball thank you for the reference to the article. Sam has been very fortunate but he has and continues to work very hard. I really should have not responded but as a father when someone takes a couple of shots at your son you sometimes want to respond. Robert Lilly and Sam are friends. He deserved the yellow but the description made it sound like he was a dirty player.
Again. You have a great team with great potential. I hope your kids have opportunities to play soccer after high school at the college level.

I told a couple of the CCH kids before the game that they had the talent to not only compete, but to win the game. The first ten minutes of the game CCH was shaky/nervous I think as they did not believe it I don't think. I'm not a believer in good losses but hopefully they take from this game that they are right there on the cusp but need to execute when the game is on the line, which they did not do last night.
Let's hope they don't go out and lay an egg this week vs. NCC and Dixie. Trinity is over so hopefully they move on. It was a good, hard played game.
First time poster. Yes my name is my handle. To answer a few questions, I would place Covington Catholic as the best team we have played in state. St. Louis and Olentangy were better balanced teams. I believe Covington catholic defended our team and yes my son better than anyone this season. Although he played (as groin pull suggested not like a division 1 recruit) below is normal standard, I credit Covington catholic versus suggesting it was my sons lack of ability or division 1 ability. I prefer to instead state that I can see several college players on Covington Catholics roster and I wish you guys the best of luck the remainder of the season. Hope to see you guys again in the state tournament.
