  1. It's kinda hard to give details when clearly many people didn't watch the same match. Yes, Trinity played less than desirably. Yes, St Henry played a spirited scrappy game. Two mis-communications between the keeper and the backs created scoring opportunities that the Cru capitalized on. Clearly a PK opportunity, nice 2nd goal by Drew Goetz to knot the match before the end of regulation. Yes the officiating was abysmal. As far as Trinity playing "scrappy and cleaning up their act"??? Hmmm, ask the St. Henry trainer if he thought he was running a MASH unit or triage area behind the Trinity bench? Hate these pointless boards, but I couldn't resist. It's too bad we don't have video playback to illustrate the points. Have a great day everybody!

  2. I'm pretty sure the Scott team bus knocked off a gas station and ran over a little old lady on the way out of the parking lot.

Well Bobby, if Scott's team ever gets past purgatory, they will get to meet your Holy Trinity Saints...you know the team that was sent straight to soccer heaven by those dirty Scott Devils....this is nothing but sour grapes. Like it or not, it's a man's game, played by very young men who play their hearts out. The reality of THE GAME is that to be successful, you have to be tough. I don't know what the final tally in fouls/yellows was for the game, but it was pretty darn rough on both sides. BG had better control of the ball, more overall talent, and made more plays. Pretty simple. Don't turn the Scott kids into anything more than players with passion....

Soccer is a man's game! Agreed, now lets talk about the definition of a man. A man holds himself with honor, dignity and character and treats other with respect. I would rather lose with character and dignity than win with any of those compromised. There is more to life than wins and losses. Ultimately, sports should teach the highest ideals and form men of character.

  3. The soccer gods have their way of working things out, thank you soccer gods for not having the most cheap, dirty team represent this Commonwealth as champion. Why does everybody on this board try to equate everything representing N.KY? I honestly hope that something good comes out of such a poor display of sportsmanship. Are KHSAA, district and school officials looking at this and wondering how to better control a team? What a disgrace and what a disgrace that the game was-- streamed live and will be on the KHSAA site in perpetuity. I am not from NKY and I am damn glad that Scott is not representing this state. I would seriously question anyone who feels any sort of pride for a team who calls what they do "soccer"?

  4. Kind of fun to be in the position of the team with the "common opponent" information......would rather be one of the other paticipants, but here is my two cents......probably roll into 4 cents.

Don't think you can compare these two......both were very different games.....

Trinity was a finesse, passing, attack not only from both sides, but also the best team we saw all year with attacking with the outside defenders.......can be very overwhelming if your defense isnt disciplined.

With Trinity's attacking defenders....IMO...it opens them up to counter attacks, and this is plays right into Scott's offensive strengths. Morgan in the middle has perfected the skill to play it to Schneider and Treadway in exact positions that they pressure and attack, and then Morgan joins the attack. Top to bottom, Scott's offense puts more pressure on defenders due to quick counters, quick shots, and physicality than CCH's does. CCH plays an offense similar to Trinity's.....

Will be an exciting game........Refs hopefully won't play a part in the decision, but how it will be called will be a big factor in which team has the advantage.......

Position?... my position is my couch, with a laptop and the KHSAA website, it's all there. After some comments I decided to look for empirical data. It all boils down to game day though.

  5. From what I've read Mo. Co. Can put the ball in the back of the net, I just question their strength of schedule. Statistically, Brossart has the best defense in the state and with that 9-nil win to start off the tourny, I predict that hype will carry the Mustangs to the regional finals.
