  1. No idea if there's any merit to it or not. Just an opinion from a guy that used to play and coach for them. Not sure how much he knows or doesn't know. Again, meeting him was coincidence, and I don't have a dog in the fight. But this board is for discussion and I thought it was interesting. I'm not reporting a news story, just passing on what I heard.
  2. It did come up in casual conversation. We were just talking about basketball. Talked a lot about the NBA playoffs, the NCAA tournament too. Turns out we both just like basketball and it was only one small part of the conversation. I'm not sure what you mean about being a disgruntled parent. I'm not and he's not. I don't have a son that plays basketball and I don't think he does either. He left the organization some years back he said. Not anytime recently that I gather. It was just a conversation that came up as a coincidence that I found interesting.
  3. I say "apparently" because I was pretty shocked after their year last year. I have a hard time believing it myself, but this is a guy who played and coached for them. Pretty successful businessman down there. Can't stand the older guy that runs the team. Not saying he's right, but when I told him I was from KY, he asked if I'd heard of the Travelers. When I told him I had, that's when he starting talking.
  4. Here's the facts. Apparently, they only got a one-year contract even after making Peach Jam last year. Usually teams get two or three. I don't think Nike has another team in Kentucky they're looking to sponsor but there's a lot of problems in that organization. Was on a business trip to Nashville last week and ran into one of their former players and coaches and the guy didn't have a lot of good things to say.
