Why are so many people taking so much from those kids in Augusta, it had the pleasure at watching them a few times this year and the past years with Jason and although I think Jason is a good coach i think he was lucky to have the kids he had. Those kids don't quit, and according to what some are saying it's all because of Jason but now they don't have him and they are doing just fine with a "mediocre" coach (others opinion not mine) let's start giving credit where credit is due
Pretty sad to judge a guy who is only in his fourth year as a HC imo....Wasn't like he had the best starting coaching gig.

My God, this thread is worth the price of admission!! Why by the cow when the milk is free?

Because Bach had the coach!!!
The coach may make the difference, but it also comes down to the player wanting to improve on their own individual time. I told my kids that if they wanted to be better at something, they had to go beyond the hour and half practices that they were going to. Just an outsider's perspective.

could you imagine a Jerry Fogle or Marvin Boyers paying now...Good golly Miss Molly!!
For some reason I hear Pitino in his Celtics days talking when we are discussing former players..

About as true of a statement you'll find on this board. Reitz isn't walking through that door again....or is he?
Neither are half of the players that he coached when he was there!

Model or Berea won't vote to seed it. Bit Model in the butt this year.
That's the luck of the draw!!!

Mason County shouldn't be talking about girls basketball coaches.
Explain.

Bulldogs
That is all.
Speaking of Bulldogs, someone sent me a picture of Tweeter from Danny Weddle about today being the 25th anniversary of the Bulldogs All A Regional Title.

Would it have been better if I said they should call them the Royal Dogs and change their colors to yellow, black, and blue?
It may cure some hate between Alumni bases, but I don't see it ever happening.

I agree. Parents can't control their kids talent and how good they are, but they can control their work ethic and ability to be coached.
If parents had realistic goals, there would be no conversation. My kids were allowed to do things but I never complained when they sat the bench or complained when they got yelled at. That's the problem--too much helicopter parenting.

It's not only a Biggs issue, it goes back to things with administration of past years. Thankfully they took a step forward and the high school now has 3 quality gentlemen running things.
I do believe however if O'Hearn would've resigned this year instead of last that Allen Jr. would be coaching the Royals next season. But things happen and that didn't fall into place.
I've thought the same thing actually.... Always had thought that this would've been the plan.

According to some the :poop:house.
Not me though I feel Keaton will flourish at PC.
Patience is not a virtue in some places.

I wasn't saying Bracken County was perfect, or any school for that matter. It happens here.
I had no idea this many people were upset about the Mason County program since I'm on the outside looking in.
This.

Mr. Bear,
I do believe that MCHS isn't the only school that fires and hires for political reasons. If I am correct the Lady Bears had a similar situation didn't they?

Sounds like the inmates are running the asylum. I've heard allegations against four of the players and if what they did is true they should be kicked off the team. If the coach won't kick them off the AD or principal should take care of it.
Please do tell. I'm sure that we can open cans of worms in both respective schools.

Most do not live with parents, they live by themselves in a house that sits on the hill above the condemned gym! They are housed, clothed and fed on the Kentucky tax payer's back!!!
They're playing their games in a condemned gym?

Maxpreps has Robertson County winning that game on December 1st ...
Nicholas County beat Augusta by 17
..at Augusta ...
scoreboard.12dt.com
FYI, much more reliable than maxpreps... Good place to research things since the schools have to report the scores.

Imagine if we start having charter schools............... (legalized cheating)
Doesn't matter what you do...there will always be transfers.

Mason County is in; won 39th.

No, cordia is not a boarding school!
PurplePride92 I really respect you and what you do for high school basketball, but you need to do research on Rhodes and the cordia boys basketball team before you keep singing his praises!!!
What is the reason that they have dorms?
-
Nothing much has changed. Same gym, same fans, same bookkeeper. I'll take Augusta by 5.
I'll be in Brooksville watching their game and then go to the other side and hope to catch the 4Q.
I went there a year ago and they had air conditioning.... That is a BIG change!!:walk:

They are still breaking the same rules they were punished for!!!
They are NOT a boarding school!!!
Wait...I'm lost.

Why doesn't Mason want to play St. Patrick ?
Small gym.

Maybe it's just me but I think the State All A Trophy is 100% better than the Sweet 16 Trophy. Doesn't look like a generic cookie cutter trophy.
Saw pictures and I 110% agree....The Sweet 16 Trophy looks generic compared to the All A one.

This... I believe both schools got a good coach who will stay at their respective schools for a long time. When talking to some Augusta people the other day they were impressed with Kirk and are glad they have someone who will be willing to stay regardless of the future the program may hold. They like people to stay there I guess... I would assume the same could be said for Hinson at his respective school.
