  1. They did well, with a lot more discipline they will be great next year. Most of NCCs TDs was from Lloyds mistakes, but nice job done by 3,and 14 from Lloyd they never gave up the fight. Way to run Smith down 3 and stop that TD and We hear you loud and clear!

I'm pretty sure everyone tried to tell Lloyd NCC had more than Smith. As for the defensive side, NCC defense came to play. Regardless of the td that #3 stopped it wouldn't have made a difference except NCC would have put up almost 50 points.

  2. O.K.

I think you are not clear as to what myself and other's are saying. by far no one is taking away the game from Smith, but we can give credit to other player's as well. I known Smith way before he was what he is today, and I hope and pray that he has an amazing time in College. but I know for myself far to well that attitude plays along with talent! and to say the least about being competitive I did it in a State that ALWAYS sets the tone for competetion. now to say I need spell check, I'm good but I can and will check you!!! I'm not saying NCC has not done a good job at this game but what I am saying is compared to All the other years the underdogs are COMING!!!! based on all the games played. you can put it on penalties and so on but HC and Lloyd's game against NCC was an exciting one to watch. it's funny how people wanna try and shut down the underdogs because they think the school they back up is the best. so before you call out what is and what is not, be Fair to the game and be fair to all who are a factor. and as I stated before I like NCC's QB, and I like HC"s Barnes and Lloyd's Durham along with Smith, and from what I hear HC or Lloyd is scared to play NCC again. now on the don't hate part, I am never a hater always an uplifter and motivator for young people. please don't get me twisted with this lingo because I can go both ways with this battle and I truley see how upset this has made you so I will keep my posts to myself because I will always come out hard with mines.

Well im glad to see that you will always come out hard for yours! I dont have anything twisted, just wondering here who are the underdogs??? Would it be your beloved Juggs or HC, because if im not mistaken you guys almost lost to them so why do you want them to beat us so bad???? I never once said you were taking anything away from Smith, my question was why are you making the game about Smith? I believe its ncc vs HC, not HC vs Smith. Seems like alot of people on this site knew Smith a long time ago or so they say. Good luck to Lloyd this week, seems to me thats where you should be focusing your attention since the under dogs are coming WV may feel the same way.

  3. Everyone has their opinions, but there are maybe 3 players in NKY more dangerous than Smith.

The QB has a chance to be really, really good. He's got the size and the arm strength. He runs well for his height. However, he lacks the most important thing, and that is confidence. He's just got to let it rip. 5 first half sacks against Gallatin County is 5 too many.

You are right everyone is entitled to their own opinions, just a little confused why people are making this game about Smith?

  4. well to me and many others he (QB) is a well balanced player, from his game playing to his attitude. watch some film smith is a good player as well but terrible attitude, more mouth than most. and all I'm saying if your so good in your Divison why not take on the challange? that's what's wrong here know one wants to step out the box and feel what the next level of compition is? is this NCC last year to make a run? like someone else posted before looks like a down slop is coming. it's just sad that NCC only believes in one player when I've seen more than the one you speak on. and to say he battle with Beechwood I don't think so!!!! Once again HC please take this from them!!

Why are you so worried about Smith? You are begging HC to take this game, is that because you feel Lloyd has a better chance of beating HC than NCC? Btw, just my opinion you should really try spell checking before posting!!

  5. That probably made your night didn't it? It's obvious to many on here that you openly root against the kid every week.[/quote

You are absolutely nuts and that's obvious to everyone on here!was complimenting the BW defense, it has nothing to do with Smith. If he's the anointed one then you should be able to take the bad with the good because you obviously don't have a problem mouthing off when all is good.

    Lol

  6. Newport. Think it will be a low scoring affair, but Ryan Ochoa and Dee Joseph will be the difference for the Wildcats in this one.

    Newport- 21

    Newcath- 10

So let's get this right. You think Newport will beat NCC Friday because Joseph and Ochoa will be the difference makers? Not only do you think they are will win it you are also predicting that they will win by 2 scores right? Do you recall that both district games Newport has lost NCC beat those teams and somehow Newport will win Friday? Interesting post but don't get your hopes up!

  7. Once again, I am an unbiased third party. I saw what I saw. I have a reliable source who will be looking at the refs arbiter system who will let me know after he reviews the tape and I will let you all know what it says. Until that happens I stand by the fact that I believe it should have been an HC TD. I will say this again though. NewCath is an undisciplined team and they earned every penalty the got called on them. Very dirty as well and they got caught multiple times tonight. If NewCath has any chance of going deep in the playoffs their practices will be the worst and hardest they have ever experienced to remind them that penalties and dirty play will not be tolerated or condoned.

Hmmm interesting post but I guess Holy Cross was perfect angels on the field tonight? No need to answer because we all know the answer to that.

  8. IMO he was not getting out of the way. IMO he was skiddish and danced around nervously because he got drilled earlier in the game but what do I know.

Smith wasn't scared to catch the ball after he was drilled!! Wanna keep repeating it go ahead it doesn't change anything about the game. He was clearly getting out of the way to let the ball go into the end zone when he was drilled from behind which should have been a penalty. Since the refs gave this game to nCC please share the penalty count I guarantee you this my friend it was definitely lopsided. If people are looking for a reason this game was close blame it on penalties and poor play calling period.

  9. How is NewCath even in the discussion???? While they have have played a little better NKY talent they got mauled by Belfry and they will get a run for their money against Cov. Holy Cross and Lloyd. While I understand Lloyd being in the Top 10 now, NewCath shouldn't be getting a sniff. I guess reputation from previous years counts for something here. (Snicker). If anything, Covington Holy Cross should be in the mix in the bottom of the poll. NewCath isn't even close.

You cannot be serious with this post or are you? Show me where Lloyd or Holy Cross has played any competition this year? My bad Lloyd played 1 good team and got destroyed. Both of those teams would have gotten ran off the field at Belfry. Campbell County would have beaten Lloyd and Holy Cross, They wouldn't dare schedule a team like Cooper! Not sure what your bone is with New Cath but your post was comical.

  10. i was standing in between the NCC locker room and the gate they entered the field from (50 ft max) and heard none of the garbage this Peyton is talking about. NCC came into the locker room mouthing about how Belfry was out of shape, that the 2nd half was theirs, that EKY football was weak, and they proceeded to get took to school the entire second half.

NCC was ready to play, they controlled the first half imo, but the game is 4 quarters and they never had an inkling of momentum in the 2nd half. The frustration was apparent. They're a well coached team, with some outstanding athletes, but for the better part of the game Belfry won the battle up front and that's where it matters most.

The refs did let it get out of hand by not whistling plays dead in a timely manner. There were a couple bad calls against both sides from where I was standing, but the bigger concern to me was the lack of professionalism by the officiating crew in seeing that their passiveness was creating unnecessary tension among two teams who came to leave it on the field tonight. It's a shame, but it happens often.

This is absolutely not true!!! NCC was not mouthing off about Belfry going into their locker room we can all attest to that!

  11. I spoke to someone at the game and will post their thoughts on Sunday.

What I will say is the first thing he said in response to the chippy behavior is:

"I don't think NewCath has experienced a team who holds their blocks downfield like Belfry and plays physical to that extent.

I also don't think Belfry has seen many teams who refuse to let them bully them and will get in their face."

I actually thought that is a pretty interesting point. It's actually legal to tackle a player on the line, it's called a pancake block and Belfry is very good at it. Lawrence is an outstanding player but gifted with size he is not.

The person I spoke to was very complimentary of NewCath especially their Front 7. Loved the quickness of Lawrence and the tenacity of Sutkamp.

For what it's worth he said poor Ray has never been held that bad in his life. The key turnover at the end of the game that Horton forces he did it despite a hold that was called as well. Said Horton took the game over in the 2nd Half.

Seriously, poor Ray they are kidding when they said that right?

  12. That is right.

I didn't have my radio, so I didn't get the stats, but somebody told me after the game that NCC had less than 25 yards in the 2nd half.

There were some questionable calls, some extracurricular activity going on, but if you are looking for the turning point in this game and want to point to something, that stat is it.

IMO the turning point was the penalty on special teams having 12 men on the field, the Breds looked lost the very next play when the rb went into the end zone untouched.

  13. If you ask me..Horton was held prob 80 percent of the time. I actually witnessed the first coach through the line for NCC not shake Haywoods hand after the game. I realize the frustration but you won't meet s classier individual than Haywood. .I was shocked to see

If you thought Horton was being held then what about Lawrence who was being tackled to the ground every play. I'm talking about play after play where there extra hitting going in after the whistle right in front of the ref.
