  1. Maybe, but I am not talking about their play, rather my reasons for liking one more than the other. They are both tremendous basketball players and by the time LBJ's career is over I think it could be like splitting hairs to decide who was better. And when those hairs are split, this will always be part of my thinking, petty or not.

Lebron has had a few mistakes in his career. Like the decision, but he doesn't get much recognition for the type of human being and role model he has been during his time in the league. He has done things for his community that Jordan has never came close to.

  2. This doesn't have anything to do with their play on the court, but for me if has everything to do with their likability...

The fact that Lebron stepped out of high school into a $100 million shoe contract without ever really having to "earn" his way into the NBA always sticks in my mind. An 18 year old kid (man-child) who was the richest man in the building (outside of possibly the owner) was a completely different scenario than Jordan was drafted into. Money is absolute power and Lebron has always been the "boss" no matter what his coaches have done. He has shown that repeatedly this year with his changing of Blatt's plays and what not. Talking publicly about calling his own number at the end of that game is pretty damning to me, but maybe that's just me.

I can't think of specific instances where Jordan threw his coach under the bus publicly, but not saying it didn't happen. I'm not sure it would've happened early in his career and not sure he would've done it to Phil either. The money Jordan got early in his career isn't even comparable to what Lebron earned walking out of high school graduation.

The irony of that situation for me is that Lebron never sees that shoe money or the big contracts without Jordan paving the way for it. Lebron's quitting against the Celtics in game 6 and the way he handled "The decision" will always stick in my mind and be why I will never like Lebron more than Jordan. I do think he can catch him as the GOAT, but for me his accomplishments will have to surpass everything Jordan did. I guess I give Jordan a pass for leaving the game for what was going on in his life at the time (murder of his father) and the fact that he actually walked away from the game and didn't quit on the court.

This might not mean anything to the rest of you, but to me I always think of Jordan's talent as man made and Lebron's biggest asset as God given. Maybe that's not fair to Lebron, but that's how I think. I'm not trying to say Lebron hasn't worked hard to get where he is, but my perception will always be that Jordan worked harder, had less resources and was less of a pure physical specimen so all that factors in for me.

Haters gonna Hate I guess. Your reasoning sound a little petty to me.

  3. Jordan also wins in intangibles. Some may discount that, but that weighs heavily in my mind. Dude absolutely buckled under the pressure in 2011 against the Mavs and went in to a shell. I can't ignore that. The greatest of all time does not do that. That is as huge of a demerit as any great has ever accrued on a resume. Even if the Spurs were better last season, they were not better to the point they should have won by a record margin. The greatest of all time does not allow that to happen.

    Is this Skip Bayless?

  5. I can't tell you Colonel- fan's thoughts, but Purnell's pitching this season has been excellent except two bad innings against the dirty birds. You take away the two innings from that game and he is sitting around .065 era on 5 wins against quality teams. In district play, Purnell has got the win on all 3 games including one shutout. The stats for the three games per the Rebel website are 18 Innings , 67 batters, allowed 6 hits, 3 runs, only 1ER 21 k's , 5 BB with an ERA of .050. This is against good teams in, IMO, the toughest

district in the region. I think the district and region games need to play out to determine the POY. There is a lot of different game plans by coaches during the season. I think the true reading of a player will be decided on how they do during their district games, district tourney, and region tourney.

Like the other kids mentioned, I think Purnell would tell you his goal is to do his part to help his team reach their goals. Whoever gets the POY award, It is a reflection on the team around that player.

What about other outings? POY usually is an all around player who makes an impact in all areas of the game. How's his offensive numbers? IMO player of the year has to come from more than 3 district games. Not saying he isn't worthy of the award.

  6. Im a life long cowboy fan

No he isnt that good, he has not got quick lateral jukes, he is a sideways runner adn the only plays he had success with was the strech plays

he also doesnt have the overall breakaway speed, as he got ran down a lot.

And he is prone to injury.

It's surprising to me that Murray isn't considered "that good" because he has an offensive line. As a recall Emmit Smith had an pretty good offensive line too.

  7. Pretty easy decision. It is much easier to replace Murray than Bryant. I am not saying that Randle is better than or as good as Murray but he did average about 1 yard more per carry than Murray last year. Dez is just a rare combination of speed, size, strength and is just a great football player. I love his passion on the field...don't want to follow him around after the game is over though. But I could say that about a lot of players in the NFL right now.

I don't understand how Dalls could not try to at least work something out with Murray. He is the reason the Cowboys made the run they did. All this sets up is putting the ball back in Romo's hands more, which hich is a big mistake. You can say anyone can run behind Dallas O-line but you have to look at the other tangibles. Yard after contact, blocking, and receiving out of the backfield. He's a complete back in my opinion. He was one of few that didn't have to be taken out of the game in certain situations.

  8. It's a tough position for the Cowboys to be in. If you sign him to a huge contract and the video comes out, he's suspended with pay like AP until investigation closes. If you franchise tag him, Dez makes half of what he would with a regular contract and he's angry. No one wants angry Dez. That would ruin an entire season.

I'm willing to bet if there is a video the Cowboys and the NFL have already seen it. I just find it comical that almost 4 years later a video is surfacing. It's hard for me to believe this isn't intentional.

  9. Much ado about nothing. Dallas and the NFL knew about all of this when it happened in 2011. Too late now for anyone to care about any video. Pay the man and let's move on.

Sounds like Dallas is trying to low ball him on his contract. Funny how nothing has been said about a video during the years before now. Now that's it's time for a new contract it starts leaking out.
