  1. Chad was trying to find other jobs last year. He was trying to shop around and he didn't have good things to say about Bracken County on his stops. I was in a few of the interviews. Maybe it is best for Chad and Bracken Co to go in different directions.

If you were "in these interviews" it's pretty unprofessional of you to get on a forum and talk about what goes on in a "professional" setting. Coach Persinger has a right to interview for bigger jobs.

  2. It is that time of the year again. It sounds like the job front is heating up quickly with the state tournament coming up next week. Just some things I have been hearing around the state. In regards to the Bracken Job I believe there will be some truth to Hinson wanting to take the job but has concerns do to Persinger being his friend. Other names that I have been hearing: Ryan Hamm (Mason County), Chris Stapelton (Mason County), with the dark horses being a coach that I can not name at this time from the 9th Region and B.J. Aldridge (Silver Grove). Will be very interesting to see what happens with this one. Also after talking to a friend from Daviess County sounds like they already have 75 plus applicants for the Apollo job. Candidates are pouring in from every where and rumor has it that another stud player is moving in to play with Eli Wright. From what's being said the North Oldham job is not getting much interest , I believe coaches do not want to put up with the parents. It sounds like things are heating up at Pendleton County with Keaton Belcher being the front runner but there have been around 30 plus applicants. I really enjoy being back in the best basketball state in the country!

I think that Hinson would be a great choice for the BC job, but I don't know if he would be willing to leave Augusta unless it is a bigger job somewhere, I know he beat my Royals the last two years, so he should be in high demand. Who is the 9th region coach you are speaking of? I have an idea who I think it may be if you are referring to a current assistant coach.

  3. I made it up to the game last night. First time seeing NCC. They are big! Good team. I thought the referees were horrible last night. That didn't decide the game but if I was Holme's coach I would have been upset myself. As for the T on the Holmes player, he may have deserved a T, but it's high school kid and we have a bunch of "adults" criticizing a HS kid. And calling him out by name. I wonder what people would say about some of you all in HS if there was a forum like this then? A kid was playing hard and lost his cool cause he was frustrated with himself. I think it's ridiculous to keep putting his name out here like that. If this was a court case that would be illegal.

  4. This is a district seeding game. my guess is they scheduled it after the bracket came out. They set game dates then and NC knew they wouldn't play last night anyway. Now, the Harrison game...idk.

NC and BC are in different districts. Nicholas County is in the district of Harrison Co, Robertson Co, and Pendleton Co. And this district is one of the only ones in the state that does not seed, they do a blind draw.. Which is a topic for another thread..

  5. Glad to see the Jackets get the Win. This was a game that the Jackets wanted to play and win. With Sexton and several other former players transferring to Bourbon Co. it was a respect game for the Nicholas Co. Team. Sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side. Nicholas improves to 8-6 and Bourbon Co. falls to 4-12.

I am sure Nicholas County was a little extra pumped up for the game with the Sexton kid transferring. And sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I myself was shocked to hear of him leaving to go to BC. But with the instability of the NC program with how they go through coaches, I don't blame the kid, or kids (not sure who else left) for leaving. Of course BC has been the same way over the last few years. But maybe there are other reasons for these kids leaving? Who knows.

  6. Somebody asked that question earlier where the funding came from to send Holmes to NY and I never saw an answer?

I believe many of these bigger tournaments and showcases pay schools to be apart of their tournaments. This helps cover costs for the teams. This is how many teams get to go to these tournaments. I also imagine fundrasining would be apart of this as well. Just like at the college level, teams get paid to travel to other schools to play.
