Not all Christians believe this.
As for the first part, I don't want to rehash the whole Rev. Wright argument again. It's safe to say that we have only seen snippets of Wright's sermons.
In a previous post, you mentioned that there was ONE qualification in order to be a Christian...for you, what is that?
So do those Christians just pick and choose what to believe?
Snippets? I heard about a 10 miniute rant.
The qualification is to acknowldge that you are a sinner, repent of your sins and confess Jesus Christ, who came to earth to die for your sins, as lord and savior. Of course you must believe it an not just say it.

Most don't support/promote multiple marriages either, but McCain is on his second marriage...and applied for his 2nd wedding license before his first divorce was final. Surely that doesn't mean that he is not Christian?
A church is much more then its pastor.
And on the bolded part...the logical conclusion from your post is that someone cannot be pro-choice or support gay marriage and be a Christian. Is that the correct conclusion from your post?
Your reaching. I agree that a church is more than it's pastor but if you sit in a pastors congregation for 20 years then I think it is safe to say that you agree with him.
I believe that it would be impossible to believe that the Bible is without error and inspired by God himself and support homosexuality and abortion.

I think the bigger issue is that Obama is an extremist. If Colin Powell were the canidate his race would be less of an issue.

Oh, come on. You're referencing a comment that I made in a different thread in which you DID comment on Obama's "muslim connections". You can't have it one way in one thread and then say "I never mentioned..." in another.
You're correct about one thing. For some people, the mention of Christmas brings to mind Santa Claus and presents. Evidently that is what you thought of when I made my comment. Now I see where you are coming from. To me, the first mention of Christmas (and in referencing it) is a celebration of Christ's life. My comments on Obama celebrating Christmas stems from he and his family attending a Christian church on Christmas Eve for purposes of celebrating the birth of Christ, not to decorate a pine tree. Muslim's don't celebrate the birth of Christ. It's silly for some people to think that they do.
Obama does have Muslim connections. You and other Obamaites drew the conclusion that I was saying he is a Muslim. The Christian church he attended for 20 years was pastored by a raving lunatic. There is only one qualification for being a Christian and celebrating the birth of Christ or attending church isn't it.
Like I said I don't believe he is Muslim. I know he is supports abortion and gay marriages which to me is much worse. I don't know of many Christian churches that share his beliefs on these issues.
-
I know. How silly to think that someone that celebrates the birth of Christ is a Christian.
How silly to think that someone that doesn't worship as a muslim isn't a muslim.
Everyone who celebrates Christmas isn't necessary celebrating the birth of Jesus. To think so is silly and I never mentioned anything about a Muslim. I personally don't think Obama is a practicing Muslim.

I think I said that ...
Sorry I couldn't find it.
For those who are pro choice, what do you think the baby would choose?
-
I'm pro-choice through the first trimester. After that, I think you should have to carry the baby to term, unless the life of the mother is in danger.
That may seem like an arbitrary timeline to some, but it's my thinking and I'm sticking to it.
Do you feel there should be certian circumstances, such as danger to the mother etc.?
-
At what time does the mother's right to choose end? Is it when you can actually look into the baby's eyes? Or just after the baby's heart starts beating?

My son has had a passport for 10 years and he is 12 years old. I say send him to the next Summit meeting.
This is just another silly arguement. Palin nor Obama have any experience in foreign policy.
So far the arguement for Obama is that there was enough Democrats that bought into his eloquent speaches.
The arguement against Palin is that she hasn't had a passport long enough.
Next thing you know someone will say that Obama is a Christian because he celebrates Christmas.

Will he be playing for RH this season?
BTW, there are no "district" lines for private schools. They are allowed to enroll students from wherever they come from. Granted, some of us have opinions on out of state athletes (Belfry & N.KY included), they are still allowed to participate if they are properly enrolled in that school.
I don't know about this season. Not my call.
I don't think anyone will argue that private schools don't have district lines. But if a school has open enrollment and reciprical agreements with all it's neighbors then what is the difference?
-
I thought Fairview lost Armstrong and another kid who came off the bench as their 6th man , if I remember right he left right before the season ended.
I stand corrected. Forgot about Armstrong and Williams.
-
Your talking about the first meeting and Im talking about the last without Rowe and very little Adams. It was a 2 pt game.:scared:
On senior night RH won by 30+.
-
Didnt JD start for Ashland last year? If he did not he sure got a lot of playing time off the bench.
I don't know how much he started but I know he started when Ashland visited Rose Hill. The first game I saw Ashland play they started Thomas, Coleman, Rowe, Adams, and Bonner. By my count 4 of them are no longer there.
Zonebuster left out that Rose Hill beat Ashland by a combined 52 points in their 3 meetings. Doesn't mean a whole lot but to just mention the last game is misleading.
Using the returning/not returning player analogy then Fairview should be the favorite. Their only loss was Hall.
For the record I never picked Rose Hill I simply said they would be a factor in the district and I believe Spindoc is a Russell fan if not he may be in trouble with his wife and son.
I personally think the district is a toss up.
-
Rumor mill or not, RH has lost last year's starting 5 and Whetsel as well as Conner Robinson, also a freshman. And with the departure of Hall from Fairview, I'll still say that Rose Hill will win the 64th
Lots of losses but still plenty left. There at still several quality athletes in the program that will have their opprotunity to shine and I think/hope they will.
-
That is good they only lost one then. Info down this way was there was more than one. One player should not make you or break you.
I think the rumors mills have been over active. RH could be a major factor in the 64th district.
-
I agree the main thing is the W, but I'd like to hear you take up for Brooks on the stupid decision to kick the FG late in the game.
I agree that the right call was to not kick the field goal but players have to execute when called upon.

He is a great guy that is doing a better job recruiting for UK as the coach of Minnesota than he did as the UK coach.
-
You're being a little too tough on Hartline. He looked much better tonight. Some of those missed passes and missed communication were the fault of the receivers, and not Hartline. There were at leats two occasions tonight where I saw Brooks getting on the receiver for running a wrong route.
Lanxter was lazy on his route twice and dropped a touchdown. Hartline played well, every once in awhile the receives need to help out.
-
It's about getting a win. If you just want to look good schedule Ohio St.
-
Sounds like now we are even. We got a football player and you got a basketball player.
Not if you add the other sex to the equation. Plus Ryan is a good basketball player in addition to being a good football player.
-
I guess given was the wrong way to say it.
I didn't take it the wrong way just that John has done has paid his dues and deserves this opprotunity.
-
Didnt Rose Hill lose some basketball players due to transferring elsewhere to play Football?
Rose Hill lost one player to Ashland for football reasons.
-
Correct me if I am wrong, but pretty sure there are kids enrolled at Rose Hill that are from Lawrence and Carter County. I might be wrong, but pretty sure that I am not.
You are correct.
-
I think that the head coaching job was given to John Bush.
Nothing was given to anyone, I think he's earned it. No one have put in more time, sweet, and blood into the Rose Hill program than John.
